General Stanley McChrystal, commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan, has been summoned to Washington to explain some of his recent remarks. General Stanley McChrystal took an oath. The 3331 is an Oath of Office!
“I, (state your name), having been appointed a (Rank of Officer) in the United States (branch of service), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the office upon which I am about to enter. So help me God."
This thread is not about how many violations of the continuation that Obama has committed (that has been proven in numerous ATS threads…pick one), but if General McChrystal has the kahoonahs to carry out his oath. Arresting the potus (lower case intended) will fulfill his sworn duties and put America back on track. This would be in NO way, a violation of his duties, nor would it involve the transgression of any laws.

It surprises me that conservatives are coming out of the wood work complaining about violations of the constitution when the constitution has been violated for the past 200 years by nearly every single president that has taken office.

No, the president won't be arrested. It will never happen.

But stop acting like the constitution was some pure, beautiful girl until Obama came into office. Because fact is, by the time Obama came into office, that girls already been violated and raped beyond recognition by 40 other men before Obama.

Holy Christ, not this again.
General McChrystal has ZERO authority to arrest Obama!
Here's your patriot General in action!
Pat Tllmans family accuses Gen. McChrystal in coverup.
The General is a liar himself! Mr Constitution is the guy that orchestrated the cover up!
What's with the childlike faith in the military lately on ATS?
As if the military is some ultra pure God-like organization?

I think anyone that has been in any branch would laugh at that!
Honestly, the "military arrest Obama" thing is getting borderline homoerotic!

Enough!

I dont think there is any question that Obama, and many others we can think of, should be arrested for not upholding the constitution. But c'mon man....we all know this would never happen.

Even if Obama were to be uprooted from office, what do you think would come from the legal precedings? He would be set free, found innocent by the courts and even the Senate/House.

Bill Clinton lied to the American people while he was under Oath, Bush ravaged the constitution which led to the compromise of our rights. So Obama doing what he has done is only a continuation of "businness as usual".

Good luck finding anyone that will make the charges against a sitting president. Good luck making it stick if he is charged.

Come on ever since General Eisenhower left the DoD for the executive branch to become President there has never been agreement between the two.
The DoD Generals dislike being told politically how to protect the USA or how to defend it from attack.

DUH ... its unfortunate reality.

Personally I've come to enjoy the truthful remarks by McChrystal. Wish more folks where as honest.

He has no authority to do that. The only legal means of removing a president from office is the impeachment process.

While I disagree to a certain extent, I still love the imagery of that post!!

Sickening, and true, and appropriate.

Still, I think Obama is doing it more drastically, openly, and quickly. Kind of like hearing about the other 40 men doing it, but having to watch this one. It is much more grotesque when you watch it in person and the offender just looks over and winks at you and keeps going!

Obama is merely doing what he has seen is applicable and allowable by the public. After Bush, anything is possible. Bush tested America's strain, Obama is now taking it to the extreme. But that doesn't mean he is any more or less guilty than any of his predecessors. Rape is rape, no matter how damaging or frequent it is.

No doubt. With the passing of the several "Patriot Acts" it became apparent that the American public has a fetish for rape of the Constitution. Obama may not be more guilty, but I still ascert that he is more public. We may like hearing elicit rumors of the raping that goes on behind closed government doors, but that doesn't make us voyeurs willing to watch it done in plain sight!

Maybe that is too much with the analogy.

The first Patriot Act "seemed" necessary for a limited time in its original form, but somehow it became permanent, and it got expanded, and now it is the norm?

Sealed Federal Warrants "seemed" appropriate for a few specific cases involving terror threats, but now they are the norm for any DEA or drug task force case?

SWAT teams "seemed" like a good idea for larger towns for extreme circumstances, but now they are the norm for any warrant served, even for non-violent offenders? Elite combat squads are common even in smalltown USA?

Healthcare reform was necessary, and Obama's promise for change "seemed" like a great idea, until he started Nationalizing things, and giving my tax money to giant corporations and threatening penalties if I don't buy the things he says I should buy?

Now, after all of these "seemingly" good ideas, it is perfectly possible that a sealed warrant could be issued in a secret court after a secret wiretap picked up on a private conversation with an anonymous ATSer, and then an elite combat squad could burst into my humble castle in the middle of the night and kill my dog, and tazer my wife, and hold me indefinitely while they investigated if my prescriptions came from Canada or not!!!!!

American constitutional law 101

1) You don't need a president violating the constitution to impeach him. You need a majority in congress

2) In what way did he violate the constitution? Paragraphs please & concrete actions please ... treason?

Lets have a look:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

Mhmmm... nope.

Is it just me or is all this media hype over Gen. McChrystal a diversion. It seems that the MSM can talk of nothing else today. Keep your eyes open!

You know, under the facade that America is at war currently because "terrorists hate our freedomz!!1111", one could argue that the promotion of authoritarian policy vehemently against the constitution is in fact aiding the "enemy" by destroying the freedoms that causes them to be angry at us.

Granting amnesty to illegal immigrants just so happens to fall within the scope of 'giving aid and comfort' to the enemy .

Illegal immigrants are CRIMINALS , in that they are in VIOLATION of the duly enacted laws of the U.S.

Failing to secure our borders from illegal immigrants and the drug cartels , is AIDING and ABETTING criminals and lawbreakers .

If I was found to be harboring a fugitive from justice , providing him access to other locations , or supporting him in any manner , I would be CHARGED with aiding and abetting , and obstruction of justice .

How do you justify granting amnesty to millions while convicting employers who have been providing jobs for those same illegals ?

Really? Have you read the document? Off the top of my head, I'm pretty sure nationalizing industries, paying off bankers, authorizing assassinations of US citizens, forcing under threat of fines and jail the purchase of insurance, are not among the powers delegated to the United States by the Constitution. (Yes, believe it or not the 9th and 10th Amendments are equally part of the document as everything else).

Not that it matters. I'm with the guy who said that almost everyone who's ever been in the US government has thought of the Constitution as a substitute for toilet paper.

since you make the claim ....

"This would be in NO way, a violation of his duties, nor would it involve the transgression of any laws."

Back up this claim with one simple little FACT!!!

WHAT IS THE NUMBER OF LAWS YOU ARE REFERRING TO IN THE OP???

otherwise you are ... lying .... promoting disinformation.... spreading flawed logic.... not telling ATSers the truth ... misguiding people ......

No, first he should arrest the entire United States Air Force because they are in direct violation of their CORE VALUES!

United States Air Force CORE VALUES:
Integrity First
(* means being compliant with the facts)
Service Before Self (*opposite of self before service)
Excellence in all we do

In other words if we are being compliant with the facts ...

any and all acts of war that invokes fear or hate in the hearts and minds of others are reinforcing and promoting the instinct of Self Preservation aka Self PreServe aka Self Before Service.

So if General McChrystal wants to fullfill his oath then he should also be arresting the entire United States Air Force because their actions and behaviors in wartime are in direct contradiction of their CORE VALUES, their fundamental foundation.

Violater1, your logic has been violated.

yep yep,
