If you need a break then take one, all the doom and gloom doesnt worry me as in life, so in ATS, you need to take the sweet with the sour. I can look through post after post of garbage and lunacy however I quickly forget about them when I come across real quality. As a couple of the owners and mods have suggested, if you feel that the site is broken or full of stuff you hate then think of something that you are interested in, search the site to see if it hasnt been covered or been done to death, research it and make a detailed quality thread. If we all did this then the site would improve and we can just ignore the nutters and disinfo-douchebags. I love this site and check in everyday, I havent contributed a quality thread but I plan to this week, have been working on something but is difficult with work. I say let the negativity go over your head and focus on what you are interested in

While understanding your reasons for feeling this way , I must point out a few important truths.
First is that all the efforts of mankind, to advance itself or indeed of the individual to improve his or her situation are , and always have , always will be, meaningless. We are flesh and blood and bone, and our needs when stripped to thier barest are exactly the same across the board. You may strive for a better life, but ultimately you ,me, all of us are just another animal on a planet teaming with species better adapted to thier environs and needs than we are.
Second, as animals survival of the species ought to be important to us, and if you are under the impression that no matter what, our species as a whole is doomed, then you are wrong. If you think that the fall of the United States will matter a damn in a thousand years, again you are mistaken. Nations will come and go, as they always have thoughout our history as a sentient race, but there are ALWAYS survivors. Those who continue after such collapses are often stronger and smarter for thier experiences, although tired by the wieght of sorrow. It is these who go on to forge new nations, new pacts. It is those remaining who determine the continuation of the memory of lost lands, it has always been thus.
Third, if you wish to lay down and die in the muck when it all goes to hell, then by all means close your eyes, turn away, involve yourself in the exact cause of the collapse of the nation in which you stand. But if you wish to stand on the dawn of a new day, bloodied but unbroken, with strength and determination then you must accept the doom of your nation, and work towards understanding enough to survive its ending. If you turn away now, you may find you do not have enough information to get you through the end. At least if your eyes remain open , and your mind remains active you wont be caught unawares when the hellstorm breaks. If nothing else, can you not bare to be witness to the folly of man, that we might not make old mistakes again ?? Think on, this is bigger than you and your needs.

Yes, it is seckening, the trutH is so horrendous it's almost beyond contemplation...and when see it, it's a real shock, because once you start really looking into it and digging and researching, the real truth of what's going on becomes undeniable.

I was in shock for a week after the full force of what is really going on hit me. At the same time, after living all my life in a world which just doesn't make sense, suddenly it all makes sense. A horrible, sickening sense, but finally it all starts adding up, and I see that as a huge step towards breaking free - freeing my mind from their pernicious, foul conditioning.

I think the phase of being in shock is a necessary, though unpleasant part of making the pardign shift to the seeing truth. And his is what the criminals don't want....that we see the truth. I read somewhere that eaks from this year's Bilderberg meeting show that they are panicking because they are being rumbled. Their great fear is that the world is waking up to what they are doing.

There is a lovely story of how we become aware - I think it's a Buddhist story. A hen has laid her eggs - several eggs. The first chicken hatches.
Once it is out of the egg, it taps on another egg to help that chicken to hatch, then in turn that chicken taps on another egg to help that one to hatch, etc. And this is how we help each other to see the truth. See it and pass it on. Remember, the growing awareness of what they are up to is scaring them.

When I listen to a politician or watch the news (rarely now) I hear it differently. I am aware that I'm being told a pack of lies...so they don't confuse me any more - and in the case of politicians....listen to what they say, re-interpret it into the opposite of what they are telling us - and you start to get more of the truth.

eg.

We are doing this to protect the public = we are doing this to protect the evil Illuminati cabal, and to harm and kill as many ordinary people as possible.

We can't make this public for reasons of national security = we can't make this public for reasons of Illuminati protection. If we did you would know what we are up to.

We are doing everything we can to stop this = we are doing everything we can to keep this going so it kills you.

There is global warming = global warming is a fiction we created to create fear so we can control you and so we have an excuse to further our agenda to destroy you all by waging war in Iraq.

FPA = our agenda to use drugs to poson you.

Reform = forcing our agenda on you.

Health Reform = The next step in our Disease Agenda

Shock and awe attack on the enemy = Shock and awe attack on you, because you are our enemy.

I now believe totally Obama, Ahmadinejad, Netanyahu, Cameron etc, etc, are all part of the same group playing their game of 'World of Warfare' to control, dominate, intimidate and kill the world population and pocket billions of dollars. They take it in turns to play 'good guy, bad guy'.

So - once we have become aware of their evil, horrendous agenda, what in h--l can we do? (pardond the pun!)

Stop buying into their games. Another nice little animal analogy. If you throw balls at a cat, the cat will keep it's eye on each ball as it is thrown.
If you throw balls at a dog, the dog will keep it's eye on whoever is throwing the balls.

They are throwing 'distractions' at us all the time - disasters, political crises, climate worries, mass shootings, 'terrorist' attacks - to stop us from keeping our eye on them, their corruption and evil, and what we can do about it.

I have a business to run and positive things I want to do. I'm going to ignore it all and just live my life the best way I can. I can't be 'happy' knowing what I know and always reading of our impeding doom or my country's/planet's implosion.

I think America will suffer GREATLY in the next few months/years. I feel we are about to be flushed down the toilet in a very bad way.

I think we have a populace that is too apathetic STILL, which is unreal to me. And those of us that 'know', research, study, write, blog, talk...can only do so much. On top of it, there are so many people split in different directions, that nobody is even on the same page while KNOWING something is wrong. Too many splinter groups so to speak.

I thought there was a chance to turn it around, but I'm afraid that most of what we say online is just noise, and it keeps us distracted, keeps us in our homes, keeps us glued to the keyboard. And I don't see how that can be 'effective' against forces in the REAL world.

Anyways, I hope most of you who see through the corruption and lies will make it through to the other side of this. I hope you survive at least if (when) something truly horrific happens.

In one of the Star Trek movies Spock said “one must have faith the universe will unfold as it should” I agree with that idea but! I also believe one must do the things that we/you were designed/came to do. The universe will unfold as it should but you have to know that it involves chaos to find a new balance. I think we are at that crossroad. A paradigm shift is eminent and unstoppable. So I hope you can find it within yourself to “bend like a reed” and flow with the new ideas that are forthcoming. The guys in black shirts will fight it and fight hard to keep the status quo. They don’t realize their game is up or over. A new way is already here and fighting back to find that new balance. So don’t let it get to you to see so much chaos in the world. The old has to go to make room for the new. It’s just a part of the plan (grand plan). Wish you the best of luck! Since I have joined this site, more then once have I walked away because what happens here is just to crazy. I have hit the reply button and started replies but scrapped the whole thing because "if you can't say something nice you shouldn't say anything at all" more times then I can count. If you let it, the information available on the internet can overwhlem you.

Thing is no matter what happens in the world you cannot stop living.

On a critical note, this was one thread and/or subject, out of everything else here, that I hoped I wouldn't see.

I pray everyone does what they should for their own life, family, etc., and I wish all the best. From a selfish note, let go of my coat-tails. My own spouse is in the same area you are. I pass him up and go forward. Come along or don't, same with family. Not trying to sound harsh or cruel, just reality that we are facing.

Congratulations, you are now one of us. It's a hard, cruel world out there but life goes on.

The day a couple of years ago when I walked outside and heard nosies that I had never realized were there was the day I almost lost it.

Having been born into a very politically active family I had no delusions about our government. But I was still deeply effected by so much information so fast.

I hope ATS has a long life as I'm a full blown ATS junkie now and would have a rough time adjusting without it a a source of news and entertainment.

ATS has become my safe place to go when life becomes too much to bare.

Happy trails to you. Hope you feel better soon. Real life is a hard bite to chew but it is chewable. Find your balance and all will be well even when it isn't. It will be more tolerable as you learn more.

Mostly because of the moderators...

Admittedly we live in some really dark days and very little of what's going on around us constitutes "good news". But, you need to remember that this nation (the US) is, in terms of age, not much more than a rebellious teenager. Growing pains on a large scale.

There's a lot wrong with us but there's also a lot that's right with us. The brightest part of what we are is you, it's me and it's everyone else who make up this country. It boils down to my firm and unshakable belief in what I.F. Stone called "the primacy of man". There is no bomb, there is no army, there is no force on earth greater than the human spirit. And if that spirit wills to be free it will be free.

We may appear like the elephant lead on a string but anyone who sees the string as complete submission or the face as merely that of dumb brute stands where no angel dares stand. The heart of that magnificent animal is peaceful and his continence is calm and he may tolerate abuse for a time but he won't suffer it for long.

A better man than me said that you can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all the people all of the time. Apathy has always been the forerunner to righteous rage. Just look at China.

Think about it. A nation of over a billion people got a taste of liberty and freedom and have decided that they LIKE it. Who among the ruling elite would dare try to put that genie back in the bottle? Who among the ruling elite believes that the people will stop there? And we think we have growing pains.

I know that it appears that China is suffering collective insanity at the moment but I see it as groping for something they know is there but as yet can't grasp. But, it is within their reach.

There is much to worry about. I'll make no silly argument to the contrary. Mankind does a lot of stupid things not the least of which is to stand idly by as a small minority does stupid things that affect us all in profound ways. But, the earth has weathered calamity after calamity and through it all mankind has managed to survive as well. There's no reason to believe it will be otherwise these days.

These are exciting times we live in and I believe that my faith in human kind is justified. It may be ugly now but it ain't over. It only takes one spark and who knows, you may be it. Relax, it may be a painful ride but we'll get there.

Perfect example of how this place is run the second I come into the conversation "nothing to see here!"

Well,I was thinking the same exact thing just a day ago.

I have already deleted my bookmarks and plan on erasing my history too.

I read a introduction post that was not a introduction post,and wondered why this person was allowed on here,if they can not follow a simple rule.

I also read a intro from a new member where they admitted they were only 12 years old.

I seriously doubt a child of 12 has anything to contribute here.

Other than copying information from another forum and posting it here.

Every time I read this site "supposedly" has 199,000 plus members I cringe.

Less than 200 have actually posted and 195,000 have never posted.

10,000 are banned but still counted as members.

"Denying Ignorance" while continuing the charade of actual active members

is one of the reasons I will move on to other things.

There are things I know of from my 20+ years of military service that I thought about posting here to enlighten people to what is the truth,but will not.

I will move on to another forum and post it there instead.

The moderators here have become to much for me to handle.
