When ancient civilisations built their monuments, they mostly used slaves. They housed, clothed and fed them. Then some bright spark had the stroke of genius that instead of housing, clothing and feeding the slaves, why not set them free and pay them so that they could house, clothe, and feed themselves. Absolute genius, the slaves were now responsible for themselves; the work was still done, the people were happy with their new "freedom" and the aforementioned bright spark probably received a nice new house. Uncontent with this new home, this great thinker then added his piece de resistance. He sat in his new gilded throne and a clay pot with lemon juice and copper illuminated a small glass jar above his head as he rubbed his hands....

"The money we would normally be spending on camps, clothes and food is now being shared out and paid as wages to the former slaves, er, citizens. We could do with some of it back, you know, to help run the city (and keep me in fine cloth and fresh concubines). I'll call them taxes. I'll tax their wages, I'll tax them when they buy something (which has already been taxed during it's manufacture), I'll tax them when they move house (which was taxed as it was built). And when they've worked all their lives and acquired all that they can, I'll tax them when they die. Mwah ha ha ha haaaaaaa."

And the rest is history...

Today and for thousands of years before, mankind has strived to acquire money out of necessity just to live in this world. But it was not always this way. Indeed, some places on Earth are still home to people who do not use money.

My question to you is this:

If we weren't constantly chasing money to pay for our living, what would we be doing? What is our purpose, and how do we get it back?

Our lives are split into three. Sleep, work and miscellaneous. Miscellaneous usually includes some work. Sleep is shrinking all the time and work is increasing annually. The world is so money driven that I believe people have lost the magic of life. We work to hand our money over to others to pay rent, bills, mortgages, clothes, food, fuel etc etc. For most of the planet that doesn't leave much for our enjoyment or exploration. We work until we can't, and the way things are going, that's not going to be enough.

There must be more to life than this, surely. We are no different from the ancient slaves.

I'd like to think that one day we will dispense with our need for money. A few threads have popped up recently asking how we would do it. I don't have an answer, but I know that it will happen. Through war, first contact, disease, revolution, somehow money will be removed from our lives and we can pursue that which has been lost for millenia. I just wish I knew what that was, and that's the point of this thread, to see if any of you have an inkling, or are you as lost as I am?

Happy searching.

Sendran.

In all honesty barring an E.L.E
I do not see any chance in hell that people would go over to such a system.
Not that such a system is a bad thing by any means,, its just people WILL NOT CHANGE TO LITERALLY SAVE THEIR LIVES.

This is a sad fact, and for the few who try to make a difference they will be demonized by our masters before the other slaves can rally together for an alternative.

Explanation: 1stly do you have any conclusive proof that backs up your argument that ancient monuments were MOSTLY built by slaves?

2ndly RE: "If we weren't constantly chasing money to pay for our living, what would we be doing? What is our purpose, and how do we get it back?"

... We would still be chasing down food in some form or another and our purpose is to exist and we have never lost that and so don't need it back!

Personal Disclosure: If you exist... then you are a slave to the rules of existence. Exploiting the rules is our only option!

I used to know the answer to this but every passing day I feel the answer slipping away, I feel like we had a few decades of freedom and now it's over.

I feel like we are not only becoming slaves who work for money, but something worse... slaves who work, rent houses, barely have enough money to buy food, and don't even earn anything in the end. People not only working as slaves, but not even caring enough to have vision or goals! People who don't even care that they have become robots! People that might even attack non-robots!

People who go to a job they don't care about, come home, watch TV they don't even want to see anymore, then go to sleep. And the terrible thing is, they think this is o.k.! It is not o.k.!

I mostly am afraid of myself becoming this, as I see it happening before my very eyes.

There is only one thing that can save anyone from slavery and that is having a life philosophy of some kind, something to believe in. It is the only thing that grants us the ability to have creativity, vision, and to live a life worth living.

This "slavery" existance I have sure beats the hell out of growing all the food my family and I need, hunting down critters to eat, chopping wood to heat my tiny hovel in the winter, attempting to cure a family member of some disease I have no knowledge about, fighting marauders who want to take the bit of land I use, take the food I grow, take my wife or daughters for their sexual desires, take my sons to be used as labor to grow their foods so they can continue to go out and about and prey on others for their bit of riches. Hmm.........so what do I get now? Having to spend less time and effort to just survive, or finding people who don't grow beans, so I can trade corn to them for their excess beans. And a whole hell of a lot more time to spend enjoying what I believe I am here to do now, which is paint, paint and paint more canvases, wood, whatever.

Humans either become slaves to their own basic needs, or realize that a division of labor actually is rather cool, and trade their talents or products for other things they cannot do for themselves. Hmm........sounds like some sort of bartering system, which is what use of money is. A bartering system. I trade my labor and talents for paper. And this paper allows me to much more easily acquire that which I require or desire, without having to continue to search for trading partners, only to find out a potential trading partner and I don't have what each other needs or desires.

Just saying..............

Ponder upon these words or phrase:-

Do you:-

a.) Work to live, or
b.) Live to work?

They may sound the same, but is vastly different.

Work to live, means getting a job, with enough to live life.

LIve to work means your entire existance and life is about working, nothing else.

And that is what is happening to humanity today. We are ALL only living to work. That salary is not enough for you to have any social life, and may not be enough to feed you, let alone house you.

Why had it become thus? Thanks to the obscenely rich, they had hoarded up the worker's efforts while paying them minisculely. They are the ones who had grown obscenely rich, and are not even working to live. They just live and will only continue to do everything within their power to keep their lifestyle and mankind slaves.

This is no commie tirade. The reality of the disappearing middle class is an undeniable fact as well as the unbelievable and staggering rise in wealth of the rich class.

If the rich class still persists in its way, protecting and defending their lifestyles instead of sharing and redistributing their wealth, creating jobs and services instead of hoarding it all up, then mankind will be doomed. No free man will accept slavehood when they are awaken to such realities.

OP I have a system that works right within our current system. It doesn't need a change in money, just a slight change of thought.

Where you expect chaos, peace will come. Where you expect death, life will breathe anew.

Open Letter to the PTB:

I must admit that your plan was well executed. You have been creating many different ideas inside of segments of society. You have been committing those ideas to reflect inside institutions, to be enforced inside corporations as a business standard and to be taught in schools to our children. You have developed associations of professionals all taught through the methods you chose, to add creditability to your stories. Everything you have done has been deceitful to good hearted people. You have exploited the talents of good people, turned evil into honor, and good into disgust. Those that support your ways are elevated to hero status and those that see a different way are defamed, ridiculed, or tossed aside. You have managed to hold the world in a struggle against themselves, when it is actually your ideas that are propelled into the minds of the masses. You create enemies, give them power, and then conquer them. You create friends and use their good intentions to evil designs. You control who eats and who does not. You tell a fable about being free when it is becoming harder by the day to follow the law and easier to commit a crime.

You are brilliant in that you created a monetary system that filters upwards to those that seek power over others. You have even backed it with gold and silver until such a time came that you were able to remove that leaving the currency valueless. Having valueless currency gives you great authority to choose who will work, and who will be an outcast to the system. You have us right where you want us. You control all the tangible wealth so a destruction of the economic system will only mean a slaughtering on the streets as people attempt to secure their own food and water sources. I am sure you have already planned out every detail of how you will allow the slaughter of uncontrollable savages out to feed their families at the expense of starving or killing someone else family. For years you have fed us fear of having no currency in the society would lead to a world government and ultimate slavery, except you fail to mention that currency hasn’t always existed. In fact societies have thrived without currency many socially rich nations have organized themselves without currency.

My reason for writing you is to inform you that there will be no blood shed on the streets as you want it. Those that are not ready for a societal shift will find themselves fighting amongst themselves just like you have trained them to. Those that are open to the possibilities do not need currency to organize. Nor do they need to barter with another person. You know of the non currency system I speak of. It can be implemented overlapping the current economic system and changed overnight. There would be no debt of the government, and all citizens needs will be catered too without issue. Work weeks will be cut to ¼ of what they are currently and people will spend more time at home or working on personal projects. There will be no government intervention in business, no licenses to obtain, no taxes to pay, and total freedom to create a business that provides an actual benefit to people not just as a means to make a profit.

Your time of rule is up. We know the way out. An economic system that can never be taken away, regulated, or destroyed is our ticket. An economic system that serves the people not just seeks to work people for profits. A 100% sustainable, and balanced economic system. At this point, we await you to collapse the current system so that we may implement our own. Where you expect chaos, peace will come. Where you expect death, life will breathe anew. Where you expect suffering, joy will be found.

Signed,

ExPostFacto
I come after the fact!

"Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people; and not for profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, the people alone have an incontestable, unalienable, and indefeasible right to institute government; and to reform, alter, or totally change the same, when their protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness require it." - John Adams, Thoughts on Government, 1776

First off don’t start questioning us slaves!
Master doesn’t like us to speak amongst ourselves.
Second if master ever set me free I would garden, hunt, fish and gather.
I wouldn’t have cable internet but dialup would be fine for my reading purposes, I would miss those awesome funny and accident videos though.

Bump

Stars and flag to the OP !!!

I have see some post here on ATS about How to win the war against the NWO. The answer to this question lies in your post. Work less, grow your own food, stop going shopping just for the fun of it, do you really need that big million dollar home with the mortgage that comes with it and that 2010 Mercedes? The word mortgage come from the french (Mort = dead) (gage = pledge). Can you imagine if tomorrow we (the world) say to TPTB, That's enough with that slavery life.

OMG I wish I was more fluent in english to tell you my personal view on that subject.

By the way, I have stopped filling tax report since 5 years ago. They are not happy with it but I don't give a &$%@ about it. They do not deserve to have my money since they do not know how to spend it correctly.

Once again Stars and flags to the OP !

Wow....dare I say this?? I think what you are referring to is called communism. No, I am not a communist. However, communism in it's purest form would be utopia. But, because of the greed of men and ultimately the powers that be, it always leads to corruption.
In other words; say we did away with money and went back to living off the land. Hunting and planting our food. Cooking with fire, fetching water, etc., and did away with all the conveniences that we are accustomed to paying for. Lets say that we took up bartering and trading goods for services. Someone would eventually cheat someone and that someone would want justice. That means that we would want rules to trade by. That means we would need someone to judge if the rules were fair. That means that we would want someone to advise the accused or the accuser on how to properly address those rules. Eventually someone would figure out that if they bribed the judge, or the leader, or the head of the community, then they would find favor from that individual. Then someone would say; I'd like some of that action, and would start his own community. Eventually that community would be jealous of the other community for some reason and would throw a rock at it. In turn the other community would lob a boulder at the community that threw the rock...before you know it....we are back to right where we are today. Why go through the trouble?

I do not think you are thinking deeply enough about this. We are in the age of mass production. Not much need to hunt. Everything could still work. The only thing is they wouldn't be able to control people that well anymore.

You've hit opon the million dollar question.

Sendran is right:

Until all of humanity learns to be STO vs STS we will continue to repeat this lesson in the classroom of physical existence.

One way to get rid off the monetary system and a god alternative is trading goods foor goods. Like the old days of silver and gold and trading excess of what we have to what we need.

First step in getting rid off these guys is non cooperation. I dont think violence is good really. They are prepared for it. Only way to overcome these guys without much damage is non violence and non cooperation. We must simply refuse to be a part of this cess pool they created. Young people should refuse to join the military that is only used for the benefit of the few like in America, China, Britain, France and so on. They are giving their lives so that a few transnational corporations have a little more change in their wallet while pushing the country and its citizens into deeper chaos.

Great thread OP.

It's called the curse of Adam, though it was around a long time before Adam.

Every living thing has to keep itself alive, and have some time left over to procreate itself. This includes you. Modern civilization, work and money are just ways to make life safer and easier, and they work, too.

Want lunch? Work for it.

"There must be more to life than this, surely. We are no different from the ancient slaves."

As I believe someone's mentioned, it's all a matter of perspective.

To an extent, yes, we are enslaved by finances. We choose to remain enslaved.

Nothing's stopping us from being done with society and walking/living off grid.

Every person has a reason.
They may be too tired to relate it, too broke to go out for coffee...
But they all have a reason.

I remain enslaved because I've a 4.5 mo old. True, it's not impossible to live off grid w/ a kid, but it's made immensely more difficult.
He's my only real tether.

So what's your reason for staying?

Nature is adversarial.
The spirit is adversarial also.

This society is STS for a reason, and spirits re-incarnate here to learn
to integrate into STO throught "real" mind challenges, while the elite
STS benefits from a world of self-proclamed victims.

Thing is, every Earth out there had a STS period, and spirits that
need the lessons to integrate are dispersed accordingly.

Whenever STS thinks it is winning, in fact, is fueling the lessons for
integration.

My answer got extreme spiritual for physical questions, but for those
who are discovering the lessons... there is no difference.

Money isn't the root of all evil, it's really just paper, it burns quite easily.

Next time you're in the store and feel unbearable oppression from lack or surplus of greenbacks just steal whatever it is you want.

If your landlord tries kicking you out of the apartment for not paying rent hold a sharp razor to his throat and threaten to burn the place down.

Or, if the Powers That Be have made modern slave life existentially impossible for your true being than contrive a way to obtain absolute power over society, read and reread Machiavelli till you head hurts, make your violence stronger than theirs so you can create the rules people must play by.

Still, despite the previous 3 examples you will find yourself in a struggle for existence regardless of little green pieces of paper.

Does that moderate wage job sound more appealing now?

When corporations rule the society, the only way to win is to collectively target one corporation for elimination at a time, and choose the most insideous as your first target. Collective bargaining has always won against the corporation, and if the market simply decides to dry a company up, that company won't last 6 months.

Then line the next corporation up in your sites. Before a year is out, the PTB will be sitting across the table from the collective's team of representatives and begging for a bargain.

Modern governments are the security force of global corporate enterprise. Begin killing off large corporations - one by one - through establishing their organizational structures and denying that entire structure any market whatsoever, and the governments will crawl to the table for a chance to make things right.
