If its not myself in my avatar then I always seem to have another girlie in them, dont know why, quite feminine i suppose.

Whomever that is in your avatar you should definitely keep it.

Very easy on the eyes. Quite lovely.

Hi Mothman, I too am a big 'Mothman' fan and I saw your
plea for some editing.

Here's my assistance.
If it's okay, please U2U me, so I can dump it from my
photo album.
Cheers my grey night warrior!
BIAD.

My 'avy' shows a distraught creature that struggles
to find it's way in life. BIAD is not from this time,
this life... but he isn't mystical or enigmatic, he's
a practical man/girl that just wants peace of mind.

He will never obtain it due to the fact he doesn't
know where to look, but his search finds him
discovering more and more about himself and I
suppose, that's how he may win his day in the sun.

A poor soul, I've often pondered whether he should have
been taken out into the big sunflower field and dispatched
with his creator's shotgun.

An eyeless Hermaphrodite that never knew any form
of friendship, until folk like Raud and later, Chadwickus
found him, he's the last of it's kind.

It seems you have been blessed with both

The primary reasons for why I chose my current avatar are a) I love the work of the photographer, and b) it holds close meaning for me as my nationality is Australian. It's not me in the photograph, but I thought the picture was gorgeous.

People will choose their avatar for any number of reasons, in my opinion. Looking back at some of my previous avatars, I have mostly chosen pictures that denote a sense of freedom or vagueness, or possess a feminine figure, but that ultimately relate to my username.
Do I come across as pretty vacant to you?

I like your avatar. It is majestic, in a way

Beautifully written. Tongue-in-cheek, yet deep.

I wish it was tongue in cheek (smiles... she ain't
falling for it!)
The BIAD gets up to all sorts has he gambols across
the land, he's seen things, you people... Oh heck, I can't
use that one!

He's happy in his own way, so I suppose that's something.
By the way, what are crouching for in your avatar?
(Clean answers on a postcard, please!!)

You probably need to apply the url of the image to your ATS account settings. From the page where your avatar is uploaded there should be a box with the URL within. Copy it and go to Member Tools > ATS Account Settings > Avatar URL and apply it there. Submit the settings.

The idea of creating a Mothman avatar intrigued me, so I thought I'd see what I could do for you.

Alright

Mine, I hope tells people I love any study of things ancient. By putting the
modern shades on an ancient king in full headdress. I would love to see
that as a style again in modern times. I love the way the egyptians dressed. The lavish garments and bright colors. I never miss the Ten commadments. I think they had it goin on as far as their fashion line and garment industry.
They always look so noble. Very cool.

OK, somehow I helped get this thread off topic and for that I apologize.

Back on track,

I have noticed that some people don't make their own avatars and either request a particular one, or just choose one from one of the many threads that are on BTS.

So I gather that some just want some sort of identity and choose one that catches their eye, or they want some sort of specific theme that expresses their interest in a subject.

What I am trying to say here is that some people have a "closer attachment" to their avatars and some just want something different that also they find attractive. With that in mind, I gather that you cannot really tell too much of the person as you would think, while with others, they are very personal.

Me, well I just love making them and find it very meditative to make, and as such, am continually changing them. The subject matter just depends on my mood at the time.

I have to say however, that I do get attached to some peoples and will spend more time reading a long post if it's someone that I respect, and since I identify a lot of posters by their avatars alone, I'm glad that some aren't changing them as often as others..... (like me)...:shk:

That will be nice!
As long as it's not one of those 'saucy' ones from British
sesaside resorts... I've posed for too many of them and
it brings back bad memories!

All ruddy faced and overweight, indeed.
Cheers.
