thanks, this is really interesting stuff. so often we "look to the skies" and maybe ignore the oceans to our detriment.. and we know so very little about what's down there. some of the weird creatures there look far more "alien" than your typical grey, for example. some of the jellyfish look like ufos themselves, with weird pulsing colours and such..

this is all particularly pertinent given the drama in the gulf.. we know hardly anything about the deep oceans and what's down there, and yet we're still making a good fist of trying to destroy it all. no wonder mother nature's starting to lose her temper, maybe come 2012 she's gonna say "right! that's it! i've had enough of you lot! go and sit on the naughty stair..." (metaphorically speaking..)

After more than 10 years serving in submarines as a SONAR Technician, I have never encountered a USO. However, while stationed on the left coast on an old boomer, we ran into a fishing trawler net. We towed them backwards for about a half an hour. THey were fishing in a restricted area. No injuries, but we were reported to the media as a USO. I still have a piece of the net that we had to cut out of our sail.

Nice thread, It would be a lot easier to hide in the depths of our oceans then be a twinkle in the sky.

I've always been really interested in USOs...I've only seen about one or 2 documentaries on them.

Sometimes I wish there was more information or footage of them but then again I know you can't force it.

The last thing the UFO arena needs is more hoax material so I'll just be patient and hope that some Aliens decide to visit our seas for testing purposes.

Crucial thread! USOs are an idea whose time has come . Mac Tonnies posthumously published " The Cryptoterrestrials" has been a wake-up call for ufology, and USOs are specific evidence for his hypothesis. There have been claims of UFO bases on land - recently Tierra Del Fuego and somewhere in the Amazon basin, but of course they have never come to anything. Resident 'aliens', whether indigenous or migrant, would surely find the seabed an infinitely more secure choice than anywhere on land.
I haven't read the sightings reports linked above but one of my faves is the US Navy aircraft carrier crewman in the western Pacific in 1945: - there were so many silver discs coming out of the sea that the crew put deckchairs on the flight deck to watch them when off duty! There are many others of a higher level of magnitude than the average land based sighting.

Think about it - if you wre going to maintain a presence on another planet , where would you choose to build the base?

I often think of aliens as explorers or kids almost. Just driving around exploring worlds both below it and under it. I bet there are planets that are all water with no land and they just explore go to whatever depths and like they do in space. As far as Earths concerned, it's probably the preffered mode of travel around here, not many people see you, the scenary is much more beautiful and you'll get to see lots of one of a kind animals. It's my opinion, that humans are probably getting there USOs as much as they're getting there UFO on. Also, there prolly isn't to many alien USOs as much as they are just prolly like you said, USOs comin out of some military base. S + F nice thought provoker.

I think I have mentioned this before on ATS and got the usual blast of you know what for it.. but in the interest of this thread I will tell it again.

I have a good friend who was in the Navy for many years. He told me that while everyone thinks the Air Force is the lead agency on UFO's that it is actually the Navy.

He said the Navy has recovered many strange objects over the years.

The most interesting thing he told me though was about the undersea facility in the Atlantic somewhere off the coast of Brazil. He says that the Navy took several submarine pressure hulls and anchored them deep in the ocean and that submarines can attach to it for transfer of men and materials. He was taken there to do testing on the pressure hulls that is required on a regular basis. He said he saw "aliens" working with Navy personnel while at the site, and was given the standard "you saw nothing" drill. He said he had no idea about what the purpose of the base was.
I personally am convinced he was talking from a true experience about being at the underwater facility, the alien part is a who knows thing but he swore he saw them.

He told it for the truth.. more than once, so its one of those things, you either believe or you don't

It's very frustrating (and very evident that there's more to it....) that many of these 'in-your-face' facilities simply get covered and hushed up the auspice of 'national security secrecy'.

I met someone who works over there and he says he doesn't even know what this establishment is really all about. It's run by the government and 'managed' by the navy and.....that's all!

USO are real. Now, what they are is unknown. Shag Harbor is a classic documented case that's these "crafts" have been around for quite a long time now.

Just going out on a limb here, but wouldn't maybe uso's sort of open up the hollow earth theory? Especially around the north and south poles?

Also, couldn't it be probable if there is such a thing that there may be a uso base in the gom? A great reason for dragging feet to clean the spill?

I remember watching something about AUTEC and USO's which really spiked my interest in USO's. I guess because when you think of UFO's and the incredible speeds associated with them, it seems plausible because air is not that dense. Water is though, which makes the speed they are reaching incredible. I would like to see a USO traveling underwater, because maybe you could see if there was a buffer around the ship. Say, a constant bubble around them filled with air or possibly a vacuum. I know in my head what I am thinking of, but I don't know how to put it into words.

Also that AUTEC facility had cables going from the facility into the water and down into a trench. I have idea's on what they maybe attached to, but who knows.

As a scientists who works on the UFO subject i know for a fact that Ufos,belonging to Alien races is as real as it gets. A Ufo automatically becomes a USO when it goes under water. We are currently investigating USO, but i believe higher ranked scientists have the information about this, even though i am not in a position of being informed. Its a very cool subject.

This thread reminds me of a story someone told once at a new year's eve party whilst hanging out with some friends...

Well, this friend of a friend was saying that his family are originally from Greece and his father is a fisherman.

Now his father and his fisherman buddies would normally go fishing at night way off the coast with all the lights switched off just because it's meant to be easier to catch fish.

So one night, they're out in the sea and it is pitch black as you can probably imagine,
when way, way down deep they suddenly see a tiny speck of light.

As they begin to watch, the light grows and they become more and more concerned, seeing as the light is becoming larger at a steady rate.

Eventually the light has risen till it's underneath the boat and I think I remember the person telling the story saying it was a pretty big compared to the fishing vessel.

By this time, as you can well imagine, the poor fishermen are going out of their minds
when suddenly the light shoots off, still submerged, at an incredible speed leaving the boat in total darkness again.

According to many cultures, we are about to enter the 'fifth world'. Many cultures say that the world has been destroyed and recreated. Imagine that a civilization as technologically advanced as we are, if not more so, knew that a catastrophic event was going to take place. I believe that a course of action would be to go inside the earth until it was safe to live on the surface. Plans being made to prepare for such a disaster might include setting up a way to maintain life within the earth which would include the ability to produce food. As a civilization, I would think that they would want to ensure that their technology wouldn't be completely lost, so they would set up a way to continue with their technology and a way to advance it while they waited for the surface to be ready again. I am sure that some human life managed to survive such a catastrophic event and began to repopulate while the 'inner world' continued to do the same. We would now have two separate 'races', if you will. Humans who lived within the earth managing to not only work on their own computer technology, but possibly an advancement in their spiritual growth. After living for such a long time in their own inner world, they may have come out to see how the surface was coming along and realized that humans without technological skills who still remembered how things used to be were actually trying to come up with ways to duplicate that technology (Baghdad battery). Of course the main priority would have been survival and trying to recreate that life just wasn't possible. In the meantime, an entire human civilization was flourishing within the Earth using these USO's to travel around the earth. Perhaps that is why we are not detecting 'alien' signals in space because we ought to be looking within the earth, itself. Our own radio signals could be getting mixed up with 'theirs'.

Great post. Sorry if I went a little off topic, but I was trying to show how it's possible that over time other humans having none of our drama to deal with might have been able to produce such USO's/UFO's. I imagine if they are there, they wouldn't be too happy about what we're doing on the surface as it may effect them.
