That is the BEST news I have heard all day. I sat watching the Presidential Address today, and nearly got sick on myself! That coward sits and gives the American people some BS address that does nothing but put him more in the "I'm going to play the dumb-dumb game" while the Gulf Coast is literally being consumed by Chemicals that will destroy everyone's American dream. I for one, will not stop. I REFUSE to sit back, and not contact my Senator, etc., while that idiot, and YES I say IDIOT, tries to make me feel like..."I'm just another Cattle, that will listen to what is being fabricated, or left out!!!"

I'm so tired of people just looking at the forums, and not doing anything to feed their curiosity. Get out there! Call your elected officials! Hold a picketing sign, make a donation (as one intended to do from a previous post)!

Seriously. God Bless all of you people down there on the Gulf. I will do whatever I can do as an Arizonian citizen to contact my Elected officials, and make a kind and regarded gesture of appreciation to the County's like Okaloosa.

Best!

What in the world would they be thinking if they "Obey" some fiction from DC? USA is a municipal corporation with a jurisdiction of 48 sq miles + the territories of Guam, Puerto Rico, etc.. They have no real authority outside of their zone and do not represent the true government of the uSA. USA isn't an unresponsive "Government" it's a criminal scam.

Local municipalities shouldn't have to rely on the federal government for any approval, whatsoever that might be. Screw the feds and their inability to properly respond to this disaster. This regime (and that's exactly what it is) is utterly clueless and driven by pure ignorance of anything outside of their little world. Damn the feds.
Yes, I said 'damn the feds!' Come get me obama. If you dare.

"Inability," "clueless," and "ignorance" are not the words I would use to describe our Federal Government's reaction.

Try, "deliberate, calculating, and evil."

I am not familiar with US law so enlighten me please

I get that you have federal law that forbids foreign ships (even if they are pro's from Norway, Russia... ) which collect oil from sea

can your state call for them and go around federal government?
Something like Florida calling Norway's biggest experts no matter what Obama says?
Because same government called foreign oil rigs and did not ask your state?

Hopefully this will help answer your question.

Basically - the Jones Act is a federal law that prevents foreign owned ships from conducting operations inside the USA territorial waters.

The States do not have the legal authority to ignore or suspend the Jones Act or directly be involved in international relations / contracts with foreign governments.

This act was temporarily suspended during operations in the Gulf by foreign vessels in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina.

The USA national administration specifically the Maritime Administrator can and has waived the restrictions of the Jones Act during times of emergency.

Hopefully no bureaucratic ego or turf protection will prevent us from using all resources offered.

berrygurl,

Arizona has the whole country backing them too!!!

All there getting is harassment, boycotted and ridiculed by the socialist left
politically correct governments, sports teams and musicians, etc.

Let's see what happens when the feds come down and start arresting the people trying to save their state as well.

We used to have a annual rental on San Destin. It really is a great and beautiful area.

I hope people protect them.. whether it means massive rallies to prevent federal authorities arresting them, or other means of protection.

I'm glad to see there are still leaders out there willing to sacrifice all to protect and serve their communities.. we as a people must now protect them as well. With numbers behind them, federal authorities are powerless.

This is what happens when you have an unresponsive government in the midst of crisis. This is the template for other "crises" that may occur in the future. People are just simply FED UP! (
, no pun intended)

Do you know there is a safe microbe that EATS HYDROCARBONS?

It leaves shrimp food behind, and dies when the food source is gone!!

It was already tested in the Gulf with excellent results and is supposed to be a first responder item ... A fellow who uses it says it is very good!!

Here is the video, it has ALL THE FACTS ... and if you folks are going to save your real estate yourselves ... more power to you, and this will cost one heck of a lot less!! .... There are barrels and barrels of this stuff just waiting!!

Gulf Oil Spill .... Solution in just 6 weeks!

I actually sent them a message asking them if they had considered setting up an online donation drive as I am willing to bet that where the fed had failed to come to their aid, their fellow AMERICANS I am sure surely would!! Considering a $16.5k a day bill on stopping/collecting oil for a small town like that is not chump change, so I am sure they could use some $$$ assistance.

Anyways should they respond, I will post up. I did tell 'em GOOD JOB!! on telling the fed where they could stick it and standing by true patriotic/moral convictions ;-)

I mailed them as well ... and thank you so much for that address on the web!!

There is A FIX for the OIL .. (don't know about the dispersant)

There are microbes which eat Hydrocarbons!! They leave behind shrimp food, and they are already tested in the gulf!! They are warehoused in quantity and I spoke to someone who has used them .. he said they were very good at oil removal!

Only plain fire equipment to put them out, and they die, and all is clean and new-ish again. Much more cost effective!!

Here is the video, it has ALL THE FACTS .. and I hope this starts a trend of Yankee Do It -ism among all those people and their wonderful and beautiful real estate (and livelihoods).

Gulf Oil Spill ... solution ... just 6 weeks!

This is wonderfull news.

To all americans I would like to say don't let Bureaucracy kill the gulf. Once again man has proven that he himself is his own greatest enemy.
Once again it is proven their will always be a few good men willing to truly stand up to man made destruction.

I hope the USA will go through alot of revelations. All started by an act of defiance. I pray the peoples justice will prevail.

Suspend The Jones Act, it was created for mercantile purposes.
The current situation goes beyond that. Besides this Oil leak could not only effect america in the long run, so its an international problem.

I wonder what kinds of evil are preventing the use of those microbes.
Maybe their is a problem with effective distribution or fast mass production, but its probably more red tape and corporate interests.

Good luck GOM and residents.

Excellent! Every local government along the coast needs to do the same! Their local authority actually trumps the feds but people have been dumbed down to think otherwise.

I sent them an email with this video:

www.youtube.com...

It looks like this leak may have to burn it self out so we need to start mitigating the damage now and this video is the way to do it IMO!

Updated to add i just saw others did the same. Good maybe they will listen. I also asked them to spread the word to all thier coastal neighbors!

I also sent it to Grand Isle LAst week.

This is great stuff, like others in the thread I applaud the local leadership while the state and federal level sits stupified on its hands.

It is very sad that the higher levels of government cannot respond properly. Although its great to see locals showing initiative, one cannot but speculate on the slippery slope that could lead to Jericho-versus-New-Berg-style disputes (to use a semi-obscure reference some ATSers might get) in the face of a power vaccum at at last the state level.

Can you say that in Red Neck lingo?

Well see its thier oil....even if its splashed all over creation...so dont touch it...

Seriously though what they are afraid of is that people coming into contact with thier oil will become sick or develop some condition and why later the afflicted will have grounds for litagation.

You see birds cant take someone to court. And its easyer and cheeper in the long run to settel up with a state action if the wetlands get fouled up.

And besides we all thought this was a simple deal...hay you make the oil and we will buy it....but no. You just thank god you dont have to go horse and buggy anymore....just look at all they have done for poor littl ol you and shut your mouth if they spill it all over the place once in a while.

Yes you are correct....the feds cant handle this and certain are really quick at pointing this out durring a time the fed is geting out of hand.

But this here isnt GM or or some other bail out mess. The Fed really does have grounds to get into this and make demands. And what oil is untouchable even when it screws up hundreds of miles of beach front and wet lands. What does oil want us to pay for this one way or another?

Obama....a convenient distraction.
