I need help buying an MP3 player....

Sooo my dad wants to buy me an iPod Touch. And i was wondering, i kno u can text with it, but i dont have wireless internet, if i hook the iPod touch up to my PC, can i access the internet with it? And, are there any good alternatives to the iPod TOuch? I found some other websites that had a touch screen MP6 player, watever that is, for 50 dollars.

I believe you need a wireless router to use a texting application on an iPod touch. Wireless routers aren't terribly expensive so see if you can swing one in with the deal. That way you can use it from any place in the house.

thats wat i thought too, but wasnt exactly sure. I have really slow internet. Like, the speed of dial-up, with out dialing up. My modems download speed is 56kbps. And i am afriad that wireles internet may take away from what little speed i have.
