Bugs and earthworms.
Mixem in with a little dehydrated eggs. MMMMMMM...
Pass the salt and pepper.

Yes, I remember a special on the British Special Air Services, a while back.

They had the option, as a part of training, eggs with earthworms, or earthworms alone.

I think I would pick the eggs with earthworms.

Oh, and they could use ketchup too, to add more flavor.

Hey if I were ever in a TSHTF scenario and I was dead, carve me up and enjoy. I'll even swallow a whole bunch of butter or beer or meat tenderizer for you guys.

Some cook with bourbon or tequila, so there is plenty of options for you to season yourself.

Just watched this movie a few days ago:

The Road (youtube trailer)

Good depiction of end of the world survival scenario and yes, hunger and cannibalism were a part of the survival for the people left alive. Definitely not a world I want to be a part of. Bugs, sure. Humans? Whole 'nother story. Hope I never have to find out what I would do...

I want to see that movie, LadySkadi, and preferably I will never have to dine like that.

The Road - Official Trailer [HD]

Is perhaps all this "end of the world" scenarios in movies pushing us towards this?

Pushing us toward that? Don't know. I will point out though (for those who are saying that eating human is not an option) that in this movie scenario - not many things survived. No animals. Few bugs. Few dogs. That was it. Sooooo, what happens in a situation in which there is precious little to survive off of and hunting/gathering/fishing is not a viable option? Nuclear winter - everyone is going to die eventually. Food (pun) for thought.

*Thanks for embedding that, my link wouldn't work

No problems.

And yes, I am not speaking of just being stuck on an island, for a few days.

Nuclear Winter might be an option, especially with all these people wanting BP PLC to drop a nuke, to stop that oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico.

There might not be any other option out there and starving is a bad way to go.

This is a serious topic, even though my gallows humor is included, it is not a laughing matter.

For the purposes of surviving, people will do almost anything, including cannibalism.

OH!

If you were starving and had gone long enough without Food you would most likely partake in some Human Flesh

Well Spartan,

Interesting topic indeed. I've been trying to stay away from it to be truthful, alas here I am.

Placing notions of societal norms and my own personal beliefs aside, sure.

I'm kinda picky with my meat though, so any of your athletes out there better watch out when the SHTF, I'm coming after you first
.

On a serious note, canabalism has been present in our societies or groups since the beginning of human history. From an outsider perspective, it makes perfect sense to eat each other.

All the mean and protein etc..

From a logical and moral standpoint however, I don't think I could do it unles there was a gun to my head so to speak.

Death VS Canabalism...Canabalism wins in my book...

SLAYER69 and LadySkadi, someone say something about hot sauce?

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/ae63c53ca3e5.jpg[/atsimg]

Humans are crunchy and tasty with ketchup?

Try it with hot sauce.

I still prefer B-B-Q sauce, not that I've tried human, of course.

Well if we are going to eat HUMAN flash we might as well go all out. Bonfire with a spit, wine, music and candles.

Have you ever seen that movie about the real life situation of the "rugby" team that survived an airplane crash in the Andes in South America? They survived by eating the dead from the crash and later the recently deceased passengers.

I forget the name of the movie.
Oh Yeah the movie is called

ALIVE.

I just found it.
Here is part 1 of 13

Enjoy

Me, no problem at all. I would not kill them to eat them but if they were dead absolutely! Especially if they were cooked.

Yes, I posted a YouTube video, about the real story.

I have seen it, saw a documentary, and read on it.

It was one of the reasons I wrote this thread.

Society as a whole would be majorly different under the scenario of Nuclear Winter.

Many people will lose their ethics, morals, and societal hang-ups.

When it comes to starving and death is the only other option.

I think in contingency planning and even I do not see any option after a certain point.

When it comes down to eating, living, and surviving, choices will be made.

Those choices will come down between living, dying, or doing the monstrous.
