~CONTEST~ AD is getting INKED

Iam about to get my first tattoo, and it will be my ATS username.
The contest is that the place I get the tattoo, will be decided BY THE MEMBERS!!!!!
Remember, the tatt is my username...
The spots of choice are:
Lower back
Shoulder
Ankle
Whichever body part has the most votes by Friday at NOON..will be the chosen one.
Friday night..I GET INKED.
Pics will follow after the weekend.

Shoulder.

The lower back has too much of a "tramp stamp" connotation, unless you are planning to have your user name be part of a commentary about your butt. Then it would be clever.

Ankles are painful and hard to cover in short skirts should you want to conceal it for some reason.

I would say shoulder as well AD.

As funny as it would be to see a girl with AccessDenied across the top of her butt. I would say get it small on the top of your wrist, or get it around your lips

As for my lower back, bear in mind nobody but my boyfriend will see it there, cause I don't wear midriff exposing clothing, and it certainly doesn't apply to him.
When researching, I read that it is the most common place for a woman to get a tattoo, especially a first one.
I looked through designs for hours...found nada...decided to make my own.

I would have suggested the lower back until I read some of the comments here I hadn't thought of it that way at all.

My reason for voting for the lower back is because you can decide easily when not to show it.

The problem with a shoulder tattoo is finding the right clothes to reveal it properly when you want to display it.

And if you have it on your ankle it could make life difficult if you want to wear a skirt rather than trousers to a smart event.

Maybe have it a little higher up on your back to avoid the ribald remarks?

I have tattoos around my upper arms and they are so easy to live with. The only sleeve length that is awkward is T-shirt length, but I don't wear those anyway.

Oh, if you do get your tattoo on your back (where you can't reach), have someone handy to scratch round it for you - they itch like mad but you can't scratch them directly or you'll spoil them. Savlon anti-septic cream helps a lot to alleviate the itch.

Good luck - they don't hurt much and you get a wonderful 'buzz' from having one done.

I was thinking about this myself not last week! I was thinking of getting Valiant on my wrist! still thinking about it!

I'm trying to decide and it's difficult. Of the three choices, I'm split evenly between:

Lower back
Ankle

And as a side note: I think this thread is a fun idea but don't obligate yourself to the responses. Tats (as you know) are quite personal and should be somewhere and of something that matters to you.

I think it would depend a lot on your age. I am assuming u r around ur earler 20s. If so, i suggest the 'tramp stamp'. Its just kinda sexy. But if only ur boyfriend will see it there, then wats the point of the getting the tat at all if not to show it off. Mayb go for something less permanat, like a custom airburshed shirt that said access denied along the bottun,, so it would be like a tramp stamp, but not perma.
But yea, i vote tramp stamp, with pics. U kno the internet, gotta have the pics.

I would say the lower back - blue would be nice with fancy script letters.

Shoulder of course. Access denied, although amusing, would be slightly improper as a tramp stamp.

Lower back is my vote. As another said, you have to find just the right clothing to show it off if on the shoulder, otherwise, will often be only partially visible.

Funny though, "Access Denied" could be put many more humorous places... (although, as mentioned, right above the bum does have a funny connotation....)

I hope I don't offend a lot of people by saying this, but personally I think tattoos are kind of tacky... Sorry, but I do.


At least I think you should try a fake tattoo for a while before you "write" something on your body that you will have to live with for the rest of your life. Remember that many tattoos tend to look rather bad with time, and it costs a lot of money and will probably leave an ugly scar if you want to remove your tattoo some day...

And now I am leaving this thread before the ink lovers come to get me!
