Recently I have been wondering where are all the Palestinians on the ATS forum. My quest has only just begun and a few interesting facts have already
revealed themselves. When looking into another member's question about internet connectivity in Gaza and the West Bank, this site details the
following:
The effects of the occupation, including Israel’s severe closure policies, have led to a consistent decline in the socioeconomic conditions of
Palestinians, creating underdevelopment, unemployment, and general poverty, particularly in Gaza. Despite these challenges, however, both the West
Bank and Gaza continue to have two of the most literate populations in the world – a factor in the surprisingly high number of Internet users for a
conflict zone, with Internet penetration and connectivity rates (approximately 6.7 percent as of 2008) that far exceed that of other conflict
zones.9

The literacy rate in this part of the world runs at 92.4% of people over 15. One of the highest in the world. Combined with an internet connectivity
that exceeds other conflict zones, where are the Palestinian posters?
Opennet does state that there is substantial social network filtering and I wonder if the powers that be at ATS can determine if this forum is on the
watch list? Failing that, can any other ATS member answer this question?
To keep journalistic integrity to our forum, it is necessary we seek Palestinian views from either inside Gaza and the West Bank or from anywhere else
in the world.
