17:15 11/06/2010 TASHKENT, June 11 (RIA Novosti) - A country under UN Security Council sanctions cannot become a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Friday. "Countries which have difficulties with their legal status cannot claim SCO membership," Medvedev told a news conference, referring to new membership criteria approved at a SCO summit in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent. "A country under UN sanctions cannot claim membership of the organization," he added.

"We should make progress in discussions not on the Iranian research reactor, but on the question of why the Iranians do not respond to specific requests by the IAEA," the minister told journalists in Paris. "There will probably be European sanctions," he said.
June 11 (RIA Novosti) - The new round of UN sanctions against Iran rule out Russia's delivery of S-300 missile defense systems to the Islamic Republic, Russian officials concluded in a report published on Friday. "An analysis of the provisions of the UN Security Council Resolution 1929 adopted on June 9, 2010, conducted by the FSMTC experts, shows that the restrictive measures contained in the document apply to the delivery of S-300 air defense systems to Iran as well," the Federal Service on Military-Technical Cooperation said on Friday.
