I'd hardly call my post a rant, but I see your point. The reason these threads amuse me is because they happen every week. A few times a month there is a thread which describes a situation that's going to bring imminent martial law--and it never happens.

I just want people to think rationally about the subject. Why martial law NOW? Why is it necessary NOW? What would the gov't gain from it NOW? You know what I'm saying?

I don't think it's fair for people to be living in fear when currently there is nothing (related to martial law, anyway) to be afraid of.

It's not healthy

Clergy are trained to tell people, in the event of marshal law that it is "God's Will" for them to submit to it.

Also one might keep in mind the FBI has said that corporations will have virtual impunity to use deadly force upon civilians in the case of Marshal law.

Yeap, the criminal elites are sensing or planning on further inspirations to cause civil unrest as an excuse to inflict their organized barbarism on all the non-'connected' citizens of this [former] nation.

I understand completely, and agree with you to a point.

I think a lot of these people have fun with this stuff though.
It is only would be unhealthy if it affects their lives or their loved ones adversely.

Just like people that do re-enactments, I think some of them might be touched in the head. Going to the lengths that they do, for what? To show us all something that already happened? But as long as they don't hurt anyone, who are we to complain?

One of the things we try to do, is learn from history. Why do you think that so many priests and ministers ended up in concentration camps? It wasn't because they told their followers that Hitler's crack down was "God's will". In fact, I can't think of ANY religious minister, rabbi, or priest that tell their flock that things like that are "God's will.

How about Mexican drug cartels? They have already proven they are able to literally take over one country, and if local Law Enforcement isn't backed up they will be susceptible to the same intimidation, bribes, and hostile takeover that has already happened in Mexico. They are not armed or trained to deal with the situation that is coming.

Here is some information that you might find interesting. The article goes on to show how frequently drills are done, with the article stating that they have actually been scaled back. It also lists the dollar amount spent since 2005 on these types of drills.
