Woman Charged With Adultery

thedailynewsonline.com

No person from Genesee County has been charged with adultery since extensive criminal records have been kept in New York.

That was until Friday, when a city of Batavia woman found having sex with a man in a public park was charged by city police.

Suzanne Corona, 41, who is married with three children, is one of only 12 people charged with adultery in New York since 1972, according to statistics from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.

City police decided to charge her with adultery after an officer was called to Farrall Park about 5 p.m. Friday for a report of tw

Suzanne M. Corona, 41, of Batavia, N.Y has been charged with adultery. She was caught nude, in a children’s outdoor park, having intercourse with Justin Amend, 29, of Oakfield. Officer Matthew Baldwin arrived to the scene, "He asked them what they were doing, and they said, 'Just talking,' and obviously they weren't just talking,"
Officer Matthew Baldwin said the two were on a picnic table in a pavilion, in full view of a playground area where children were playing. Both the woman and man she was with, Justin Amend, 29, of Oakfield, were also charged with public lewdness. Amend was not charged with adultery because he was not aware Corona was married.

Wow.

This is disgusting.

Those cops have done messed up.

90% of married peoples' in New York State need to be arrested.

This must be a joke, right?

New York has got to the East Coast's cheat zone... and it's generally socially acceptable.

I know this only because this is the main reason I have stopped having conversations with my co-workers or any co-workers I've ever had.

Well maybe he's impotent or something and he knows she had to get her needs filled somewhere, otherwise why would he hold her hand?

Pretty tasteless to do that in front of children though. I'm surprised they even knew the law was on the books considering how rarely it's used.

She looks pretty good for 41, I wonder what's keeping her so young looking?

I dont have a copy of the current Penal Code in California, but as little as 1980 it was against the law to commit adultery. Does anyone have a more current copy???

I think you're missing the fact that she was naked and having sex...in a CHILDREN'S play area.

I knew that several states still have adultery laws on the books, but I was completely ignorant of the fact that prosecution was actually taking place at any time.

According to Wikipedia, yes, that illustrious source:

In the United States, laws vary from state to state. In those states where adultery is still on the statute book (although rarely prosecuted), penalties vary from life sentence (Michigan)[48], to a fine of $10 (Maryland), to a Class I felony (Wisconsin) [49]. In the U.S. Military, adultery is a potential court-martial offense.[15] The enforceability of adultery laws in the United States is unclear following Supreme Court decisions since 1965 relating to privacy and sexual intimacy of consenting adults. [50] However, occasional prosecutions do occur.

I understand that adultery is an emotionally damaging act, but the government has no place in preventing emotional injury that occurs as a part of marriage. Laws that attempt to do so are not in place for the protection of the populace (as laws are intended to do) but rather uphold the now outdated English common law from which they were derived. Prosecution for adultery is a waste of judicial resources. But most importantly, these laws have generally been understood to be antiquated (though they are still in place in many U.S. states) and therefore are, on the whole, not enforced. This suggests that in the rare instances in which they are enforced, it is due to the personal persuasion of particular officials.

The public lewdness charge in this case is, however, clearly warranted. When you engage in sex in full view of the general public (including a children's playground), you cannot reasonably cry out for privacy laws.

Gotta love my home area of the world.

This has been plastered all over the news here. She was 41 and her "lover" was 27. Although, she's still hot for a 41 year old....but....I digress....

It's sick that they decided to boink in a children's play area. The adultery charge has only been used a handful of times in this area, and this is one of them. This is just a case of two sick people that needed to get a room.

Peace be with you.

I read about her having sex, but where does it say she was naked?

If a woman is wearing a dress there's no need for the man or the woman to remove any clothes to have sex. The article wasn't very specific about exactly what the witness saw, but I don't recall it mentioning any nudity.

According to my local news (from this area) she was at a certain stage of undress, and the man was completely nude from the waste down. I believe the police report on the news said that she did have her chest exposed.

The adultery charge is a little odd, however public lewdness would apply. What I am more interested in is does NY have an alienation of affection law? Those are always interesting. The woman's husband would have a pretty solid lawsuit if it were the case.

Guess her husband really cares about her though, if a cop caught my wife banging some dude in a park that would be the end of that one.

Oh the joys of being literate.

Did you try to read the story in both of the links?

Well... I look at it this way, the same law says that it is illegal for her husband to track the other guy down, tie him to a tree, and cut his weavers off before crushing his head with a meat mallet. Considering that, adultery should be against the law and criminal charges should be available to the prosecution over it.

The woman should just be thankfull she doesn't live in an Arabic country where such an act would result in being pelted with stones until she was dead by order of the courts.

This is the same reasoning I use against calling my ex a pig no matter how badly he behaved. Why would I want to insult a pig?

Yes and I am still missing the part where it talks about nudity. Please help me find it.

However I do see another post from someone about a news story NOT in the OP links that refers to nudity.

The definition of "hot" must have changed since I got married.

I'm not seeing it. Of course I didn't see what the big deal was over Heidi Fleis, either and she looks (and apparently acts) similarly.
