The funniest part is that I am not white.
----------------------------------------------------------

Well isn't that just SUPER!

Good for you!

I'm not white so you are going to poke fun at me for that?

There's a term for that, I believe.

And if you open your eyes, nearly every Obama related thread(if it does not attempt to glorify him) has at least one post that calls someone a racist for the very reason I stated.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AND, so far the only person that has brought it up is YOU!
I guess I WAS way too generous! See if you can figure it out!
I guess you are too dim to see my original point.

My SURPRISE that a post hadn't come up yet to that effect!

That is a pretty tough one to get, IT WAS THE ONLY ONE IN THE POST!

Did they mainstream you?

You really are trying WAY too hard don't you think?

What's next? Nayh, nayh?

So! What should have Obama have done?

Obama storms in and takes control = "socialist takeover of a private company" "government interference made the leak worse"

Obama waits for information and tries to work with BP = "terrible leader who is incapable of doing anything" "his inaction has made the leak worse"

No matter what he did in response, the right is going to attack it. Besides, do you really expect him to personally plug the leak? He is a president, not a God.

Wouldn't want to use such big words, might confuse you and all.

I'm not mean and you are not a racist, ok?

Yes, What should he have done? Be specific now!
What should he have done?

In the first 48 hours the POTUS did more to address the crisis than Bush did in the month following Katrina.

He directed the Coast Guard to be immediately involved.
He sent the Deputy Secretery of the Interior to New Orleans.
He activated the National response Teams and Unified Area Command Centers.
He directed his staff to make sure the "entire federal government was offering all assistance needed in the rescue effort as well as in mitigating and responding to the environmental impact"

"The President asked the responding departments to devote every resource needed to respond to this incident and investigate its cause."

And he met with..
Department of Homeland Secretary Janet Napolitano,
Admiral Thad Allen, United States Coast Guard Commandant,
Department of Interior Secretary Ken Salazar,
EPA Deputy Administrator Bob Perciasepe,
FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate as well as a host of senior white house officials including Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, Assistant to the President for Energy and Climate Change Carol Browner, Chair of Council on Environmental Quality Nancy Sutley and Director of the National Economic Council Lawrence Summers.

AND THIS IS JUST THE FIRST 48 HOURS

April 22nd, 2010

Statement by the Press Secretary on the President's Oval Office Meeting to Discuss the Situation in the Gulf of Mexico
The President and First Lady's thoughts and prayers are with the family members and loved ones facing the tragic situation in the Gulf of Mexico. The President was briefed in the Oval Office this afternoon by a number of senior officials including Department of Homeland Secretary Janet Napolitano, Admiral Thad Allen, United States Coast Guard Commandant, Department of Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, EPA Deputy Administrator Bob Perciasepe, FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate as well as a host of senior white house officials including Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, Assistant to the President for Energy and Climate Change Carol Browner, Chair of Council on Environmental Quality Nancy Sutley and Director of the National Economic Council Lawrence Summers.

The United States Coast Guard informed the President that search and rescue efforts are ongoing. The President made sure that the entire federal government was offering all assistance needed in the rescue effort as well as in mitigating and responding to the environmental impact and that this response was being treated as the number one priority. The President asked the responding departments to devote every resource needed to respond to this incident and investigate its cause.

The National Response Team has been activated and Unified and Area Commands have been established near New Orleans to coordinate search and rescue operations and oil spill response efforts.

The Department of the Interior and the Minerals Management Service as well as the Coast Guard are also working with responsible parties to support their important efforts to secure the pollution sources. Deputy Secretary of the Interior David Hayes was dispatched to the region yesterday to assist with coordination and response. The President wishes to thank the bravery of the professionals across the government who have worked non-stop over the last two days to save lives and protect the environment.

Now the SAME CROWD THAT WAS CHANTING DRILL BABY DRILL!! IS WONDERING WHY THE POTUS CAN'T SINGLE HANDIDLY STOP A LEAK THAT THE MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR CORPORATION THAT ACTUALLY BUILT THE WELL HAS FAILED TO PLUG?

What type of desperate idiots has the right wing become?

This rhetoric is transparent, hypocritical and stupid.

God help me I thought the GOP had a chance in November, but seriously I think the majority of Americans...ya know...the quite ones not blathering on about what Rush or Glen said last week...they will be at the voting booth more fearful than ever of letting these idiots have further power.

Hypocracy and idiocy is an art form for these spin dufuses.

He should have had the US Coast Guard and US Navy install a deepwater containment skirt around the source of the spill.

Can I be POTUS now?

That about sums it up. Doesn't matter what he does...the right will cry about it.

Holy crap! That was SO easy. A deepwater containment skirt. Of course. How stupid can the government be? This PROVES tht they WANT the leak to continue. ALl they needed to do was to head over to Home Depot and get a deepwater caontainment skirt and plug that sucker on day 1. What jerks. And all those engineers and sceintists pretending to be doing something when all along it was THAT easy. Makes me want to puke.

I'm just shocked that none of the Republicans --- especially one as knowledgeable about the oil industry as Sarah Pailin --- didn't call these ineffectual, ocean destroying ne-er do wells in the Whitehouse on this. They must be waiting until the clean-up contract gets as big as Halliburton wants it to.

Trying to keep it simple for you!
Since my idea is simply not good enough, what might be the better one that you are judging it against?

Oh my yes, those engineers from BP have been doing a bang-up job.

They have sprayed the slick( that's the oil on top of the water) with apparently poisonous dispersants. What does that do? Clean the oil up?

Spreads it out. Yeah that is a fine idea, make it sink, make it mix with the water, that's just what we need!

Yeah, they sealed the leak, too, and forgot to tell us about it.

Okay.
Wanna throw your bright idea up too???????

Good one!

In the first 48 hours the POTUS did more to address the crisis than Bush did in the month following Katrina.

Everyone who does NOT live in the greater Washington, DC area may not be familiar with this sicko, very-far-neocon-right Washington Examiner piece of junk 'news' paper...

They are distributed FOR FREE around the region, mostly near the bus stops and Metro stations. It is tabloid in format. I have today's copy right here (I ONLY pick them up because A: They're free, B: For the puzzles in the back...'Kakuro', 'Ken Ken', 'Sudoku'...and, interestingly, the YEW YORK TIMES! crossword
and C: To see what the idiots have to say today).

This rag of a 'news' paper is also thin...typically 40 pages, give or take a few, each day. Today, the classifieds and Sports comprise pages 28-38. A few full-page adverts (including back page). Thin gruel, indeed.

Oh, and one of their 'regular' contributors? The incredibly crazy lady, that Michelle Malkin!! Man, is she good for a laugh! I think the Examiner takes its marching orders from Roger Ailes, way deep, deep down.....

I saw this VERY 'commentary' bit, (by Byron York) this AM, and got teed off....for the very same reasons that you put in your post, and BECAUSE it is disengenuous, to the max, for ignoring the buffon named 'W', and his actions in the SAME area, just five short years ago....

Someone remind me what BP was doing drilling 50 miles offshore in mile deep water?

Oh yes, I remember now...because whacko enviromentalist thought it was safer than drilling in shallow water, and vast wastelands like ANWR.

Nice thinking enviro-whackos!
