Mandatory (Forced) evacuations on the Gulf Coast for a Hurricane Warning?

I was having a discussion with a friend and fellow EOC worker about the possibility of a Forced Evacuation following a Hurricane Warning. Its normal that once we are in the warning area, mandatory evacuation orders are usually given.

We had both Survived Katrina at the county EOC back in 2005 and back then we did have a mandatory evacuation order issued. However under current law it could not be forced. Mississippi has the castle doctrine so you cannot be forced to leave. The only way it could be done is to have martial law declared. Now that's a scary thought.

I also saw this article in the local paper:Will flood insurance cover oil damage? That lead me to call my insurance agent. He informed me that under my current policy they will not cover any damage that is caused by oil.

So if a mandatory evacuation is called and we evacuate and the storm hits, we will not be able to return. This is already the process and they have put in to place due to the results of Katrina.

Now here is the catch. Water is bad enough but with an oil spill in homes, businesses, and everywhere else the Oil and water touched, what the hell are we going to do?

This is a Mega-Disaster waiting to happen.


Edit to Add an afterthought What if FEMA Takes over?

Here are just a few Executive Orders associated with FEMA that would suspend the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. These Executive Orders have been on record for nearly 30 years and could be enacted by the stroke of a Presidential pen:

1. EXECUTIVE ORDER 10990 allows the government to take over all modes of transportation and control of highways and seaports.

2. EXECUTIVE ORDER 10995 allows the government to seize and control the communication media.

3. EXECUTIVE ORDER 10997 allows the government to take over all electrical power, gas, petroleum, fuels and minerals.

4. EXECUTIVE ORDER 10998 allows the government to take over all food resources and farms.

5. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11000 allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision.

6. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11001 allows the government to take over all health, education and welfare functions.

7. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11002 designates the Postmaster General to operate a national registration of all persons.

8. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11003 allows the government to take over all airports and aircraft, including commercial aircraft.

9. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11004 allows the Housing and Finance Authority to relocate communities, build new housing with public funds, designate areas to be abandoned, and establish new locations for populations.

10. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11005 allows the government to take over railroads, inland waterways and public storage facilities.

11. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11051 specifies the responsibility of the Office of Emergency Planning and gives authorization to put all Executive Orders into effect in times of increased international tensions and economic or financial crisis.

12. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11310 grants authority to the Department of Justice to enforce the plans set out in Executive Orders, to institute industrial support, to establish judicial and legislative liaison, to control all aliens, to operate penal and correctional institutions, and to advise and assist the President.

Is there a European nation with Minimal gun control laws?

The MS and LA Gulf Coast is in the worse possible location in refrence to the oil spill when the storm come in most of the oil will be pushed into the LA marshes and the MS marshes and homes in the Surge areas.
