Young Obama Pics... Smoking

It surprises me that these aren't on here already, I tried a search but only found a few lightly related threads, forgive me if they have already been posted.

Anyway, take a peek at these pics, they're some old shots of Obama. They look like some sort of publicity shots, the cigarette maybe being used to make him look 'cool'... Interesting anyway, some of them remind me a bit of (sorry about this) Jimmy Hendrix (ooh that comparison hurt me too):

Yea I had read recently that he hasn't quit, but jokingly said during the interview he doesn't smoke inside the white house but goes outside.

And?

He still smokes, casually apparently.

Although I'm pretty sure I saw an article about him enjoying the Marie J once or twice in his youth.

Yes indeed, but did he snort
coke or smoke it? I can't remember which ( or was it both?) one it is.

These pics just make him seem like a guy that grew up in recent times to me. A contemporary man. Seems a lot more normal than Bush as a cheerleader!

GW Bush was the coke-head and alcoholic. Not Obama, just a few "J's" in college. About him smoking? So what? So he smokes. Fine.

Ok before this turns into a 'so what if he's smoking' etc thread....

I don't care if he smokes and yeah it's no big deal that he smokes.... but in my opinion the pics are interesting... especially in today's society where we are urged not to smoke and 'peers' are also urged not to promote/flaunt their smoking habits.

Yeah it's no big deal but it's an interesting set of photos...

Heh, reminds me of me during the earlier years, only I've never smoked.

He seems pretty relaxed in front of the camera, and like a young man enjoying himself.

I am not a fan of any of Obama's policys. That said, these pics don't make him look bad at all. Hell, these are photos before he became what he is now, and it just humanizes him. I like young barack more than stuffy democrat president Obama. If this is supposed to be a smear campain it totally failed.

As someone who disagrees with the President on a number of things, I think whether he smokes or not is NOOOwhere close to being of any importance.

Really, setting aside all criticisms for a moment here.

These photos capture the essence of youth, a time when anything is possible, a time where getting old seems very, very far away.

This young man, is the personification of the American dream, a young man who did rise up to the highest office in this land. No simple task.

I may have serious issues with this Man's job performance as our president, but I totally admire and respect what he was able to accomplish in his life, something very few have done.

Personally I don't care if he was a smoker, or still is.

Real issues, policies and agendas are, on the other hand important. But entirely irrelevant here.
