Professional Opinion Reference

I'm starting this thread in the hopes that some of the professionals on ATS can post what they can give a professional opinion on that may be of relevence to future threads/research.

Have you ever said "Where's a geologist when you need one?" Well I have, and it would have been cool if I could have U2U'd an ATS member for a professional opinion. So, Geologists, Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Weather Specialists, all of you "specialists" please post here for a future reference!


I'll start...
I can offer a professional opinion on the all aspects of Granite and other natural stones.
Also I can provide a professional opinion on drafting and drafting programs (CAD)
I can also offer a college level opinion on many things to do with Civil Engineering

Howdy MysterE! I like your idea and I agree it would be very useful to refer to some professionals on some of these ats issues.

I have had a question for any Geologists out there. I read somewhere, and now can't find anything on it, about the Gulf floor being made up mostly of fragile shale. So if they decide to set off a bomb to close the leak, the repercussions could be disastrous. Is there any truth to this?

Nice idea for a thread!

I'm sure it's something that members here could definitely benefit from but I just have a quick question If that's ok....Out of curiosity can people recommend other members who they think could/would be the most helpful person for any subject?
Or is it JUST for professionals in any topic?

I ask because there is a lot of members here who may not be professionals in any subject but are extremely knowledgeable and can be very helpful to others who may need it.

Just curious and thought it was something worth mentioning.
