Flotilla activists 'shot 30 times'

english.aljazeera.net

Autopsies on bodies of activists killed in Israel's attack on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla five days ago indicate that the victims were shot multiple times at close range.

Britain's Guardian newspaper quoted Yalcin Buyuk, the vice-chairman of the Turkish council of forensic medicine, as saying that the nine men were shot a total of 30 times.

Ibrahim Bilgen, a 60-year-old activist, was shot four times in the temple, chest, hip and back, the autopsy revealed.

Did the 60 year old man had a gun?

Did he have a poll?

Or was he chucking Israeli special forced out of the ship?

I bet they raided the ship at night for a reason, the Zionists are not stupid.

Every wrong doings they do, they will always find excuses.

If it takes another thousand ships to stop the Israeli aggression than they should send it, and if they can't find enough activists to put on those ships, pick me.

I'll risk my life to stop the collective punishment of 1.5 million people.

Al Jazeera's Jamal Elshayyal, who was travelling in the flotilla and witnessed the Israeli raid, confirmed that some passengers took apart some of the ship's railings to defend themselves as they saw the Israeli soldiers approaching.

He said that he witnessed some of the killings, and confirmed that at least "one person was shot through the top of the head from [the helicopter] above."

"After the shooting and the first deaths, people put up white flags and signs in English and Hebrew," he said.

"An Israeli activist [on the ship] asked the soldiers to take away the injured, but they did not and the injured died on the ship.

Judging by the victims nationalities it's like they were targeted on purpose and efforts were made so those of other nationalities wouldn't be touched

I know there was an american citizen but i believe he had double citizenship or was of turkish nationality

There were irish , germans and other nationalities on board and only turkish were killed

Please let us know when you go.
It's too bad to say, but you sound very angry, and I'm afraid that you will end up getting shot. Have you considered a back pack with a body bag?

Maybe they were the only ones that were acting out in a violent way

If the ships didn't try to run a military blockade and follow instructions to go to the approved port, this would have never happened.

No flags. No stars.

You make it sound like it was the victims fault... always blame the dead.
I , on the other hand, believe that this would have never happened if israeli soldiers wouldn't have start shooting ...

And by the way , i am not a jew hater , i love Seinfeld!

At the end of the day those who organised the flotilla had links to terrorist groups, and many of those in the flotilla did too.

The flotilla leader/organiser said him self that those onboard are ready to die as martyrs, more so then actually providing the aid to the Palestinian people, on Palestinian TV before the flotilla set sail.

People need to look at the bigger picture and stop falling for old tricks that we should all be able to see through by now.

If they really wanted to provide aid to the Palestinians, they would do so through the proper channels, not by trying to provoke Israel by attempting to run the blockade.
The blockade is in place to prevent weapons shipments to Hamas, and it has proved effective as shipments have been detected and stopped in the past.

Israel has attempted to provide the aid from those ships to the Palestinians, but Hamas is refusing.

If the Palestinians are in so desperate need of aid, why isn't Hamas letting it through?

Anyone who feels sorry for them, and is busy condemning Israel should look at these facts and then ask them selves why..

They have a Military blockade in International Waters?
I suppose in your eyes, they all deserved to die?

Those nasty little vermins trying to bring aid to an oppressed People, how dare they!

By the way, did they actually find any weapons on board, or is this going to be another Bush/Iraq/WMD story?

Seeings how I can't get a firm answer from other threads I shall post this question here: Once again I ask, why didn't this flotilla use the U.N. sanctioned/Israeli approved port that was setup to allow aid into Gaza after wepaons inspection? ummm becuase this was a PR stunt that cost human lives.

they got what they where looking for..

theres a lesson learned for all in the - dont attack soldiers with knives and weapons because soldiers will defend there lives the way they where trained to do and that is with deadly force..

Violater1 Im going to say what a lot of people are probably thinking even if it gets me a warning.
Can you have your head shoved up your........ any further, you blindly have an excuse for everything that Israel seems to do.
I swear if they shot your own mother in her own house you would say its her fault or offer an ecuse for them. Take a step back abit and study the situation a little more, charging blindly into battle will only get you hurt.
Yes Israel may of had reasons for defense etc but its the way they conduct themselves is the main reason for the hate generated for their government, as you can see I see no other country jumping up and down (other tham America) to help their cause.

You make a good point..... One wonders if Hamas isn't working for Mossad.
They most certainly aren't working for the Palestinians!

Maybe if Israel actually concentrated on dealing with the Hamas, and not the Palestinian Kiddies, Mommies etc etc... People would be more supportive of Israels plight.

Sorry but you are making one little fundamental mistake in what you are saying. The ship didnt try to run a military blockade, at least not yet. They were boarded while still in International waters. Had Israel waited until the ship had attempted to run the blockade, then this whole discussion could very well be different.

I think of it like this...

If a person is going to be pulled over by a police officer, and the officer thinks that the person he is going to pull over will attempt to run from him, does that officer just assume that they will and pull ahead of the car and toss out spike strips? Of course not. You wait until the person starts running, THEN you toss out the spike strips.

This situation is the same thing. Israel should have waited until they actually tried to get through the blockade, or at the very least waited until the ship went into Israeli waters.

no weapons?.. So let me get this straight, it's okay to attack someone with knives \ hammers \ metal bars etc as long as its not with a gun?

I'm pretty sure that was what is known as a question. He was ASKING if weapons were found. That's somewhat different.

To the people saying that Israel tries to get the aid to the Palastinians - are we about that? Or do we only have their word for it. If they actually do, then the flotilla should not have existed. But do we actually KNOW that the Israelis deliver the aid - and ALL of the aid - to those people? It seems a little strange that they would, since they are the ones firing on the civilians and producing the need for aid.

The flotilla should not have tried to run the blockade (not that we can do anything but assume that they actually would have, had they got that far), but the Israelis certainly hould not have boarded and murdered them. Even if the soldiers were attacked, they were illegally boarding ships in International waters - they should have used their brains.

I don't think there is any one side to blame. We just know the Israelis should not have that blockade.
