Anyone having alot of deja vu?

I believe the soul is timeless and sometimes remembers things that have yet to happen. Another way to look at it is your soul allready knows everything there is to know but we in our earthly bodies are not aware enough to see it normally. Deja-vue is simply a moment when your in touch with your true inner soul. I am just now at age 35 pursuing the strange feelings and moderate visions I've had all my life. I used to dismiss them out right. But to many deja-vue and out right knowing things are about to happen has caused me to start looking for the feelings and trying to figure out what they mean before they happen.

I for instance knew my mom was in the hospital and about to be diagnosed with cancer before my parents told me 3 weeks later. All I felt was something bad has occured it was family oriented and that was it. I thought maybe someone had been in a car accident but nothing like that occured. I wrote the feelings down and 3 weeks later my mom called and let me know she would not be with us much longer. Now when I have these feelings I try and feel them fully to try and know what they are all about. I felt exactly the same when they told me as I had been feeling 3 weeks before.

I have no control over when and how this happens. Least not yet heh.

That's pretty intense Xeven. Do we consider premonitions and deja vu to be the same thing?
I got a phone call from my father a few years back asking if I'd heard from my sister, I had a bad feeling from the get go but pretty much dusted it off as being a big brother's protective reflex. As it turns out she had been killed in a car accident so I don't know if it was a feeling of premonition or just a gut reflex like above.

I find Deja vu rather liberating......very relaxing,, dont know why

Funny that this thread is here. Just last night I was thinking how bizarre it is that all of a sudden I'm experiencing deja'vu a few times a day and I used to have it maybe once every 6 months. Interesting that other people are having it more frequently as well.

i havent had dejavu for a while but about a year ago i had dejavu everyday for about 6 months...not the same thing over and over like in the movie "Groundhog Day" but just many random things...some events more than others. It got so bad that i started to just not register them like strangers that you walk by...you saw them and remember seeing them but you dont really remember them. Strange enough one of my friends said (wether jokingly or seriously i dunno) "Dejavu happens when the mind records a memory to short term and long term memory at the same time." After that my dejavu went away within that week.

There are some theories that deja vu is a symptom of a neurological anomaly. I suffer from migraines and used to experience deja vu constantly. I finally found a preventative treatment that works for me, but when I first starting taking the medication, I was still feeling deja vu, but I also started experiencing intense jamais vu--which is the feeling that something familiar is comepletely new to you (ex--I had a hard time picturing people that I have known for years in my head, I would walk into my apartment and it was completely unfamiliar for a few seconds--really wierd.)

My neurologist said that while it could be the meds just making me feel strange, there are also some new theories that this is a sign of the brain repairing itself. With the help of the meds, my brain may have been "redirecting" traffic from the problematic pathways (that would have the side effect of cause deja vu & migraines) to new ones, and in essence, repairing itself. After a few weeks, both the deja vu and jamais vu stopped.

Deja vu & jamais vu are sometimes associated with schitzophrenia, anxiety, epilepsy/seizures, Lyme disease and many neurological disorders--but note that deja vu by itself it certainly not a symptom of any of these disorders! Perhaps a new medication or something as subtle as vitamins, alcohol, increased exposure to sunlight, exercise or different eating/sleeping habits could be affecting neurological patterns and could be causing increasing instances of deja vu.

Well what exactly is this phenomenom. Would it be safe to say that it is actually a lapse in memory, for example you are driving down a familiar road and you are listening to the music or even fussing with say a CD or something, for that glimpse of time, you are not watching the road and realise uncountiousley you have been driving, but actually not watching the road at all. Is this deja Vu because in your mind you have memorized this road from driving it on a continuous basis that by taking your eyes off the road for say 10 -15 seconds that you do not crash because something in your memory uncontiousley is driving your vehicle for you. Or would deja vu just mean I said that and I said that and I said that after time your memory plays back certain scenario's that you have already experienced time after time.

Just my thoughts.
