yes, i realize this. i have thought a great deal on these things just as you have. your research and information is very thorough, too - i neglected to say so in my first reply.

as far as giving those things up - if i have to, i will - it's not like i'd be the only one. and the thinkers and inventors and the like will surely come up with solutions that much quicker when they are doing without, too.

i believe there are many, many solutions already known/invented/discovered around the world - GREAT ideas not given their due, as of yet, because of their in-congruency with the still-dominant profit system of the industrial age. but i have every confidence that their time is coming....quickly!

You mention chemistry but the chemistry revolution was 'fueled' by oil derivatives.

true. true.
but that doesn't mean it is dependent upon it or that it even needs oil derivatives to continue to develop non-oil solutions.

chemistry has unlimited potential, bound only by the human imagination - which i also believe has truly unlimited potential!

we can do it!
i know we will because humans are not as faulty as they are determined to survive, and thrive.
