Skellon, sorry it is not complicated. Only lawyers and con-artists like gray areas. They can not withstand the light.

So what you are saying is Israel will lie about killing people.

And the people who are being killed, will lie about how many are dead.

Are you sure you're on the right side of this debate ?

As a compromise take up their offer, they are willing to let the UN help to put a stop to the powderkeg, Let the UN inspect the vessel and escort it in to Gaza, no threat of bombs or cement entering the zone and the food and medicine etc will get their quicker.

Ireland may be small and pretty military redundant next to Israel, but with a strong US / GB Irish contingent and not least the ear of the Vatican (some said once all roads lead to rome) as a Roman Catholic Country they are not an insignificant nation. Wouldnt this compromise solve things.

But unfortunately , maybe from both sides, israel and the middle east that is (not the irish ship) i dont see much compromise.

Good Luck to the people on board.

ps edits - I never check before posting sorry

Israel is not good with Vatican.

Vatican calls Israel occupation ‘injustice’

www.alarabiya.net...

" The Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories makes daily life difficult for freedom of movement, the economy and social and religious life "

The Vatican

Pope is visiting Cyprus this weekend.

The Instrumentum Laboris, a working document on an upcoming synod of bishops on the Middle East, was embargoed for release until Sunday, when Pope Benedict XVI was to present it during a visit to Cyprus.

There is a connection, but not in the open yet...???

ANSA's report came as Israel drew worldwide condemnation for a deadly commando raid on Monday against a flotilla of boats laden with humanitarian aid for occupied Gaza, which has been under an Israeli blockade since 2007.

The people on this ship have already said that they would not resist.

Most likely, the ship will go to an Israeli port and offload their cargo there.

Most likely this will be a non-incident.

a non-incident, perhaps that is what they want, but I think what it will be is a rise in anti-semitism, which means against the globalist powers. There will be some merger between the U.S. and Israel, thereby shielding hostility against the U.S. government in the place of anti-semitism.

Skellon...... Still waiting.....

This question is directly aimed at you. Since you seem to believe everything Israel says.

In 60 years of war, Israel or any of its solders ( according to its own investigations ), has not committed 1 war crime. No other country with a democracy and legal system has been able to accomplish this.

Every single Arab they have shot, deserved it.

Could you please explain that improbable perfect record for me. In simple English because I am not that bright.

Time to prove you are a critical thinker and not a disinfo agent.

Great video.

I think that puts this issue in perspective.

The Palestinians have been doing a better job of playing victim for the media that the Israeli's.

Perhaps the Israeli's can learn something from this.

Illegal blockade according to whom?

So should Egypt be held in contempt as well? They are assisting Israel with their blockade.

Back to the topic, I've seen some Tweets that the Rachel Corrie has turned around, heading to port to be outfitted with satellite and camera gear. I've also seen Tweets that say the Rachel Corrie is still heading toward Gaza and should arrive late Friday or early AM Saturday.

Anyone have confirming reports either way?

i do not understand the hatred people have for Israel and especially the pro Islamic sentiment on ATS recently. Israel is the one beacon of light in the black hole that is the middle east. Let me guess now all the white people in the U.S who claim to be of Irish decent are going to be up in arms about this lol.

RECENTLY?? you have only been a member since today! There seem to be quite a few of new members over the last few days...

I don't see a pro-islamic sentiment, just a very critical view of the wrong doings of a particular country.

And strange enough, he befriended me...?? Don't know why because it's obvious by my post that our beliefs are 180% out. TROLL ALERT!

Just had a really off the wall moment thanks to danger, the ship stopped at cyprus the pope was in cyprus. As improbable as it sounds what would happen if the pope was on the ship. !!!

Call me a conspiracy nut but thats why im here ..it or at last a papal envoy.. maybe

Hi thedeadtruth,

The problem as I see it is the 'grey area' of the militant to civilian ratio.

An example;

You are an Israeli soldier under orders to defend a street/structure in an urban area.

A group of 4 teenage boys armed with AK-47's ambush you from concealed postions and open fire on you and your squad, injuring a few of you and threatening your lives.

You open fire in response and kill them.

Later the media of your opposition has 'live video footage' of these teenage boys being loaded into an ambulance, minus their weapons, with the headline of the report being;

"Israeli murderers massacre poor defenceless kids in cold blood"

The world looks on in horror and condems the murderous action of this rogue state, arabs burn effigies and Israeli flags across the Middle East in response, which in turn serve as powerful images to the rest of the world.

Now in light of the 'Pallywood' video I posted, we can bump the '4 defenceless kids' up to 12 by use of some 'willing extras' and add a purposefully destroyed building to the mix to read;

"Israeli murderers massacre 12 unarmed kids when they repeatedly shelled a school this morning. World leaders have come forth to give their statements of sympathy and accuse the rogue state of war crimes."

Meanwhile, the IDF report 4 militants killed and troops injured.

Does this sound familiar?

This is why it is far from black and white.

The 'Pallywood' video incase you are new to the thread;

Ah that same pope who was supposedly a member of Hitler's Aryan Youth is heading to a conflict at sea with Israel?
That wouldn't turn out so good for his emminence

Maybe if the Irish on board are Catholic, he heard their confessions and gave them a blessing or just-in-case Last Rites.
