Where it says author (the column)

Why isn't in the author column, like when your viewing, say, "recent posts" or "ats firehose," a little flag symbol right by each author screen name to show what country the threadstarter is posting from?

It would help us get an idea of all the countries people are posting from here on ATS.

Hey, if people from a certain country are posting what shows the kinds of interesting things going on in their country, then one might want to up and move to their country to better themself. You never know.

So like right by "Tormentations" in, say, recent posts it would be nice to see a little U.S.A. flag symbol next to the four little bars thing, since I'm posting from the U.S.A. Whenever somebody makes the news on ATS we never know what country they are posting from. No, all you may see the news flash is a screen name.

I had thought about this idea long ago when I was still in Iraq. People would always judge if I was actually there or not until I came up with some proof of my realness. However people do tend to change locations like I have and it might not be as effective as initially though. Either way its not a bad idea but I doubt that many would approve of it since they always want to be hush hush about their locations.

Most people don't want anyone knowing where they are from. That
simple. If you want to say where you are from, go ahead. Just don't
ask everyone else to post a flag or something giving away more and
more and more personal stuff about people. That's just what certain
people on here at ATS want. Like you for instance. None of your
beezwaxx.

Well it's not like revealing their city. Just their country. And yeah, if they want it even it should be.

They've got the auto detect setting thing for time, so I know they can detect by time zone setting what country we are posting from.

As far as using the times zone--many different countries can be in the same time zone. That method would not tell you where someone is from.

But ATS does have a way to let others know your location. It's that place underneath your avatar that says: drum roll please.........
Location!

Even you who are saying you wish to know other peoples location put "Things Hole Paradise" as YOUR location.

I'm fairly certain that's not an alternate name for Michigan, USA where you really are...
