[RINGS] someone give me the low down

ok i was just looking at some stuff on ebaumsworld today and somehow after a bunch of links and crap i came to a topic here. from here i looked at the link for find the rings. after reading it and some of the posts and clues with solutions i decided this seemed like something pretty cool to take part in...only one problem...i dont understand wats going on and where to get clues or what im supposed to do to start. i realized that alot had to do with entering commands in deep.access.abovetopsecret.com but no matter what i entered including legiment commands shown in the list of clues and answers it responded that the destroy command was issued and the archives have been erased or smtn to the extent of everything being diminshed. someone help me get started.

I believe we are entering into an online treasure hunt game, that is mid-progress.

I've spent some time reading most of the Hunt forum, an the Rings website, and I think I might summarize like this:

We have a game that started in May, but there was a significant amount of "leakage" of clues (which seemed to be more backstory related) before the game actually started.

The game appears to be centered around clandestine friends of a relative of the owner of this website, Simon Gray. These friends had rings with secret words, and for whatever pressing reason, had to hid the rings.

If I read the information correctly, one ring was hidden online, the other three in cities around the world.

The online ring was to be found first. And it recently was. Now were are waiting (for an unknown reason) for clues to locate the other three rings.

Is this a correct summary?

thanks that was something of an idea i had just didnt know about the simon grays family/friend part. anyway thanks for clarifying it but i still need some clarification as to where we are in this game, who are these numbered ppl ( 0 1 2 3 4 5 -5- etc.) and whos giving out these clues i mean if they hid the rings than why would they give clues to where they are if there meant to be hidden? it doesnt make sense.

THANK YOU now i get it all. only one thing. that note...seems SOOOOOOOOOO fake. i mean the letters seem to be exactly the same just i cant say im positive cuz im not supercomputer genius. it looks like a pretty good attempt at using a script font to write the note, re aligning it in an imagin program and than printing it and rescanning it. or maybe even scanning a peice of paper than doing some image edits cuz the text looks like it was added later and just some blur effects were applied. and dont tell me scanners blur like that becuase i own one and it can give me almost exact replicas well digitalized of course. well thanks for the help and u can deff count me in on this hunt
