Turkish PM calls Israeli ship raid a 'massacre'

www.washingtonpost.com

Turkey's prime minister is calling Israel's raid on a Gaza-bound Turkish aid vessel that killed nine people a "bloody massacre," and warns that no one should test Turkey's patience.

He says "this attack is on international law, the conscience of humanity and world peace."

The latest news in from Turkey and this is a story full of strong words by the Turkish Prime Minister.

Good on them for sticking to their guns and not watering down their response to the Brutal Slaying by the Israelis.

It will be interesting to see what comes of these emergency meetings of the UN and NATO.

Troubling times ahead, this one aint going away from the news anytime soon.

Turkish PM Erdogan addresses Turkish parliament

- What Israel did is very low, and it feels no shame for the crime it has committed.

- No one should test Turkey’s patience, and Turkey will be strong and firm in response to any aggression.

- Our friendship is strong, but everyone must understand that our rivalry is also very strong.

- Israel must lift the Gaza blockade immediately.

- Israel does not admit to [others] rights, and it threatens peace.

- Israeli excuses for its raid [on a Gaza-bound aid convoy] are unacceptable.

Erdogan to speak to Obama tonight to tell him what really happened

Yeah like he's gonna listen.

Good question. It's almost like there's an arrogance to it that says to me some kind of game is being played under the table so to speak.

Who knows what ways these wicked minds work and what exactly is going on.

One thing.....it's way more than just blocking and attacking an aide ship...

This was very stupid. I back Israel 99% of the time, but I can't defend this one. 9 people dead? On an aid ship? That could easily have been deflected or stopped at sea? Why attack? Why board?

If I were Iran, or Syria, or Hezbollah, or Hamas, I would be all over this! What a perfect time to ride a wave against Israel and not get any World backlash. Israel has made a fatal political error. Iran and Syria should not move to cross the blockade as well. They should claim humanitarian efforts into Gaza and they should dare Israel to attack them as well. Israel cannot fight Iran and Turkey at the same time, and I highly doubt they will get aid from Obama.

Unless this is all a big end around to get the US into Iran. It could be that the aid ship was a set up to get Israel into this mess, to get the US backing Israel, so that we can preemptively strike Iran. Who know?

World Politics is a very evil game! It is like 10 player chess where anyone is allowed to move anyone else's pieces!

This will seriously straini Israeli-Turkish ties. Historically, Turkey has been Israel's biggest predominantly Muslim ally. With the raid on the flotilla we're seeing the beginnings of what could be the breaking of that relationship. Israel thought once again they could threaten and bully enough people to get their way, but it may be blowing up in their faces with this fiasco.

I agree, Turkey have already said they are to send more aid ships who are to be guarded by their Navy. Things are not looking too good...

A fight is definatley brewing. The Turkish PM calls for an end to the Blockade and here's news just in from the Israeli side -

Israel's Blockade of Gaza Strip to Continue, Official Says

Despite growing international condemnation, Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip will continue due to fears that Hamas will ship rockets and other weapons into the area, Israeli officials say

Thousands of pro-Islamic and nationalist Turks have poured into the streets in Istanbul and Ankara since the report of the Israeli raid. Protesters with Palestinian and Turkish flags shouted "Down with Israel!" outside Israeli diplomatic missions

The Turks are savages who persecute, harass, and exterminate Kurds and Armenians, they have no legitimacy in their prattle. I wonder what the Turks would do if suddenly Israel began supplying the Kurds with weapons.

Turkey should be expelled from NATO and left to fester in the fetid morass that is their extremism.

The politicians may have been pro Israel, the population certainly aren't. I did a test on the local shop keepers years ago when on holiday there, I went into many stores selling soccer shirts and asked for an Israeli (they sell loads of fakes) shirt. Believe me they do not like Israel. Many went from being friendly to instantly silent and looking in the other direction when asked for a shirt, in general there was a definite dislike of the Israeli soccer shirt.

So Lebanon is the first anti-Israel country to take advantage of this situation and fire on Israeli planes! I knew it was coming. I don't blame them a bit. Even though I typically support Israel, if I were one of their enemies, I would be using this present climate to fire on everything resembling an Israeli anywhere in my vicinity! The world is not going to come in and condemn you for defending yourself at this moment, so what better time to assert yourself!

Israel = bad political move this time, Opening on the board for everyone else to make a move now!
