The idea is to detonate 18,000 feet below the surface, which has been done on Russian gas wells in the past. 4 out of 5 were successful. Bunker Busters may work as well. This would cause the strata to resettle, closing the hole. So, it would not be a strike, but a controlled detonation. As frustrated as everyone appears to be at this moment, it would not surprise me.

Now i am going to say this and say this now because this is an absolute joke now. I am honestly starting to wonde if they are actually trying to fix this at all. I also think that we as a species are been filled with the same crap that the hole is. This i think will turn out to be the biggest conspiracy in the history of mankind. Mark my words and remember this post. When this started i stated what the implications were, yet, what did i get? Grief.
I will also say this one last time and will not mention it again.

Start Collection Water Containers!!!!!!

NOW!!!!!!

Listen, Dont Listen its up to you but just this once?

Also i think that the oil that has leaked has been replaced by sea water, its a different structure completely. Now i know that here on ATS theres some that are light years ahead of me intelectually, and its these people i want here and now to answer a question for me.
As i mentioned before.
The oil and gas that has leaked has or will be replaced by sea water?
The sea water is made up in a different molecular setup?
Would the current events possibly lead to the sea floor collapsing on a huge scale, leading to some sort of earthquake that will hit the US/Mexico border?
Dont forget the current volcanic events, earthquakes and solar flares.
I already, on another thread pointed out "what happens when the hurricanes start flinging oil all over the land, but whats expected when the dispersants and added to the equation?

Also why is there major similarities in current events and The Bible, Revelations, 7 Trumpets?

Please i have loads of questions.

Someone get me off this crazy planet!

If there were a sea floor collapse it would probably have the most impact on the New Madrid Fault. If there was a large earthquake there the devistation and loss of life would be horrific.

Hopefully there will be no bombing of the sea floor.
What would spongebob do?

I could be wrong, of course, but I think they'll only use the nuke option if/after the relief wells fail to hit their mark. Why would they be going through all the effort involved in drilling two relief wells - each a minimum of 18,000 feet - if they were just going to nuke them in the first place? I do certainly think that they would consider using nukes but only as a contingency to the relief wells - and certainly not before.

What kind of nuke would survive to 5000 feet then be able to work. Bunker busters have a completely different purpose and probably wouldn't work either.

Of course, I could be wrong too. However, it seems that the nuclear option is gaining momentum. I was/is prudent/necessary to prepare for the relief wells in the meantime. Obama repeatedly expresses his frustration with the lack of progress. The heat is on now to do something, as people are getting pretty upset about this.

You know that the military has this option on the table. Let's see if we start seeing things like the video on the front page of this site today on CNN next week. If the administration can pull this off, they look like they did something.

It has been a few days and now I am inclined to agree with you. Looks like BP is sliding down the tubes, as they should. But, the government contractors are going to make a killing off of the cleanup. My fingers are crossed for the latest BP maneuver.

I am from Pensacola. I used to live on the beach. there were way too many tarballs in the white sand back then, without this catastrophe.

You know, with all the talk of nukes as a possible option, it seems to me that they could be throwing it out there to make waiting til the relief wells are drilled (around August) seem more palatable to the general population.
