The rockets are not a military weapon, in that they are not effective as a killing or destruction tool.

They may on rare occassion kill or destroy something, but the reality is there purpose is political and to give the Gazan's a political spotlight for their plight when all else fails.

They don't fire them to kill Israelis or destroy Isreali property, they fire them for media and international attention when they are getting to no media or interntational attention.

Right now they are getting all the media and international attention they could hope for, so since the rockets have no military effect, and just a political one, there is no need to fire them.

Anyone who thinks Hamas is trying to militarily defeat Israel or terrorize it through the use of small home made rockets is truly off their rocker and a victim of the propaganda machine.

They do that for media attention in hopes that international attention will prevent Isreael from starving them all to death.

Israel has not shown it's true color just now.. its has since the invasion of Palestine decades ago! You ask why would would they do such thing.... simple... to create FEAR and increase the heat to start the next war!

How do you think people would feel after seeing this? They are going to lash out and that will cause for response and so the war begins... at the same time they're creating fear in ANYONE that supports Palestine even if they're from Israel, it's not about the people.. it never has been, it's only about politics!

I think that while many are blaming Israel, they should also keep in mind that these aid workers knew they were going to be confronted and had plans to resist and are just as much at fault for the events that folded out.

Furthermore, and even more important, everybody should focus on how their own government contribution has played a role in not only what is happening in Gaza, but in other parts of the world as well.

Where is the concern for Darfur, Congo, and many other areas that are suffering just as much? Governments have long ignored Gaza, Congo, and Darfur and others.

The Israelis made a big mistake by claiming there were weapons and terrorists on board the aid ships. Turkey had screened all passengers and cargo before departure. So not only did Israel kill a bunch of Turkish civilians, they basically just accused the Turkish government of supporting terrorism.

Yes from 300ft up in the air on a grainy black & white video feed, I can really see the deranged look in the activist's eyes as they are completely shocked and in awe of strange military figures coming down from a helicopter overhead who haven't made their presence or intentions known.

More to the point, armed to the teeth as if they were attacking a heavily fortified bunker.

And you expected them to do what?

Clearly the murder of 20 Aid Workers is justified. Open & Shut Case.

I suppose the attack on a marked Red Cross Ambulance or perhaps a School in the 2008 Gazan Offensive are also justified?

It's open season on the Palestinians and anyone friendly with them it seems.

The Americans love this though, a great diversion for their operations around Iran and South Korea for these impending wars. Divert the MSM focus to this floatilla attack instead of the real threat to the West.

In the middle of the night, in international waters a helicopter popps out of the sky and drops armed men on your deck.

You dont know who they are or what their intent is... what would you do? Not defend yourself against the pirates, which you think they are, with everything you can grab?

Sorry, no way to tell if that's the start of the attack. I have the same problem with ALL the footage I've seen so far, supporting either side's story. I'm not buying either story until I see something that's clearly the beginning, and clear unedited footage of the first act of violence.
