wow I hate ME threads. Shut UP about the "zionists" and the "muslims" and how they both suck and should just kill each other. Can we GROW UP and post ON TOPIC??

I'm out of the loop apparently. Can SOMEONE GIVE A LINK to the events that 11,000 (ELEVEN THOUSAND) people (really?? live or not, SHOW the video???) saw live, so we can decide what happened WITHOUT all the BSSSSSSS PLEASE???

If 11k people saw this LIVE then are they somehow more special cuz they saw it in real time vs the recorded video?? Was the recorded video *doctored* or was this event never recorded since 11 thousand people saw it?? Seriously. If you saw it live? You're COOL!! but you're not some kind of special species since I'm sure at least ONE person recorded it??

uhg. This is a world event, which is the ONLY reason I'm in this thread. All the BS really has to stop.

Being an American flagged vessel means nothing.

Remember the USS Liberty?

Yes however with technology and that nothing across the globe happens without someone noticing I have confidence that not even the backwards "patriots" could stand for it. Look at what happened with this incident. 11,000 people saw the reality of what happened and now Israel is trying as hard as it can to spin the story. If those ships were American, people would be bombarding the White House demanding action. We might be fat and retarded, but we like a good fight, especially when provoked.

Also merchant ship in a highly publicized moment versus Navy ship conducting black ops.

The law ...

BTW: Israel only exist because nations respect UN law. Maybe they should reconsider, because it's not in THEIR best interest.

Allow Israel to defend herself... by any means she sees fit. Too long has she suffered at the hands of terrorists. I am glad to see Israel standing up and getting it done even as she faces the propaganda --- even if ONE one the boat meant harm, sink it, as surely the rest knew of or had an idea of the intentions after being bottled up with the person on the trip......

Sink em all Israel!

Well, if the sinking of the South Korean ship wasn't enough to send the world into a frenzy of world war proportions then this one sure will ruffle some feathers.

World War III is on the horizon. At this point it is more or less inevitible.

Israel has been needing a smack in the teeth for quite a while now, and blowing up a boat load of civillians and diplomats may be the final straw.

Just for the record personally. I LOATHE Israel's government and their policies.

But that has never kept me from weighing in all options and still give them political benefit of the doubt.

The problem is that they KEEP giving reasons for me to loathe them. They KEEP proving my suspicions about them correct.

I don't have to use BIAS to know of their guilt in many matters. Even after me being objective, it's THEY that reveal themselves, not me.

Even after using rational thought, critical thought, objectivity, ISRAEL CONTINUES to disappoint.

Therefor I have decided that it is completely RATIONAL to loathe Israel at this point in history.

Israel knows that the whole world is watching. They would only behave like they did if they feel there is a real danger.

Why not examine what really happened before using hate-labels such as "sub-human"?

I have posted several videos of the attack.. check back a few pages. There is no longer a live transmission.

No but that does make me witness to a crime along with 11,000 others.

Maybe I missed it between all the body slamming going on, but I have a curious question.

How does everyone know this happened in international water?

Not saying it didn't. Just haven't seen the claim to back that up.

Thanks

My thoughts exactly. I thought I read a snippet in an earlier post that said the IDF had asked the ships to turn around and not continue entry, which would imply they were entering Israel's territory. This has me confused now. Maybe I'm missing something here, but there's already almost 30 pages of posts. I'm not a genius, but this is confusing me a bit.

The same law that protects Israel from terrorists and terroristic actions?? Again, I'll say ..... the boats were told not to enter or come closer, they ignored the warning, Israel did what Israel (and the U.S.A) would and should have done. They stopped them.

Acctually I'm starting to change my point of view it might be the case that where they intercepted the boat when it was on territorial waters. Not International waters or the "High seas".

The coast is part of a national territory and there can be no international water immediately from it. From the coast, you measure another 12 nautical miles of water that is still a territorial water of the country. Then add another 200 nautical miles from that point and that will be the country's Exclusive Economic Zone as provided by the United Nations Law of the Sea Treaty (and provided that the country we are talking about ratified that Treaty). The point beyond that EEZ is the international water or "high seas".

BUT... there can be an INTERNATIONAL SEA LANE immediately off the territorial water or even within it where the right of passage is allowed to all international seagoing vessels. This can only be achieved, however, through an international agreement and with the explicit permission of the country concerned (since the international sea lane, in this regard, impinges on the territorial integrity of the country).

Also from Wikipedia.

PA took partial control in May 1994; full control in September 2005; Hamas control since 2007 (Israel retains control of airspace, non-Egyptian land borders and offshore maritime access while Egypt controls its land border portion)

Since Israel controls gaza maritime shore access they basically could enforce it up to 200 miles from the shore where it's still part of the Exclusive Economic Zone?

A totally different thing on the other hand is if it's alright for Israel to keep insisting that they aren't occupying gaza strip when they effectively control everything that comes and goes there.

The UN, Human Rights Watch and many other international bodies and NGOs consider Israel to be the occupying power of the Gaza Strip as Israel controls Gaza's airspace, territorial waters and does not allow the movement of people or goods in or out of Gaza by air or sea.[4][5][6] Israel states that Gaza is no longer occupied, inasmuch as Israel does not exercise effective control or authority over any land or institutions in the Gaza Strip.[21][22] Foreign Affairs Minister of Israel Tzipi Livni stated in January, 2008: “Israel got out of Gaza. It dismantled its settlements there. No Israeli soldiers were left there after the disengagement.”

They might should have waited till they were 7 miles out and did the same thing. If they were on a "peaceful" mission, they wouldnt have attacked the commando's when they came aboard would they? They wouldnt have had weapons.

This is why the ships are being hijacked near somalia. your not supposed to have weapons on a civilian ship...

Sorry. Still in Israels corner for now.

They didn't have weapons. If they wanted to bring weapons, they would have been ARMED. They had "knives and clubs" which are simple tools that are lying around on every ship. These tools were picked up to be used AS weapons, when the ship was infiltrated by armed soldiers. What would you do? Just stand there looking pretty?

Cheers,
Strype
