A state of emergency has been declared in Guatemala after a volcanic eruption killed a television journalist and forced the international airport to close.

I am no expert in volcanology but we do seem to be having a busy period. First the Icelandic Volcano blows... We also have a second Icelandic volcano getting ready to blow and now this.

I am sure it’s all just part of the planets natural cycle... but it does seem busy to my untrained mind.

I hope the people of Guatemala are ok and get through this.

I had no idea there even was a volcano in Guatemala.

Word is that it has blown and is showing ash down on Guatemala City. My Boss who is G.C. is saying that communication is sketchy at best!

An erupting volvano is not uncommon in Guatemala. We will have to wait and see how this develops.

another eruption, I have never herd of so much natural disasters. Is it becasue the media is finally focussing on them or are we in the end times??

Because they are getting media attention. Nothing particularly out of the ordinary is going on at present as far as earthquakes and volvanoes are concerned.

Can't comment on anything else really as those two are my areas of interest - along with the sun.
