I've had the cam up for the last 15 minutes. i have no idea what cam you are looking at but it can't be Kalta. The only thing moving on the Kalta cam happens to be cloud cover.

That's what I'm seeing as well. Just clouds (or ash) moving away from the camera.

and see the intersecting lines on the map Yfirboro Myrdalsjokuls.
Is it me or do the intersecting lines make a pentagram? Lines (if that’s what you want to call them) intersect almost at (Katla) Kotlujokull, forming the tip of the lower right side of the pentagram. Eyeballjelloskull volcano would almost form the top tip of the pentagram.

I read an interesting article in the july 2009 issue of popular science today. It talks about Iceland core drilling to create a geothermal energy source. It states that there is risk to setting off the volcano.

Could this volcano been a lesser event or delayed by any extent?

Either way there seems to be an aweful lot of events happening all at once. I am new to the ATS community but, even the events posted in the msm seem to be adding up fast. The oil spill, the sinkholes, the israel saga, the G8 summit having 1 billion dollars worth of security, America upping the immigration rules.

Crazy stuff, or just oblivious before?

Having watched the pattern of seizmic activity in Iceland " wax and wane", over many many months, I suspect the current earthquake swarms in Iceland (Mýrdalsjökull, Hengill,Tjörnes fracture zone and Askja) to reach their close to monthly maximum on August 2nd ish.

The last maximum was accompanied by a surge of steam venting from Eyjafallajokull caldera. Tthe one before was also, and was accompanies with a very small magma expulsion too. The maximum before that was the main eruption itself, and the one before that was the first small eruption.

But this time, the earthquake swarms are moving further and further toward Katla! last month they were below Eyjafallajokull, but the magma below those glaciers is creeping Eastwards and intrusion is peaking under the GOD seismic station at the moment, not Eyjafallajokull now, but at the western edge of Katla itself!

I can't know any more than the experts whether it will erupt or not, but if it is going too, 2nd August is one of the most likely times!

Of course, the monthly maximum may pass as uneventfully as the last, as just a curiosity of a swarm of minor earthquakes, but only time will tell.
