Having watched the pattern of seizmic activity in Iceland " wax and wane", over many many months, I suspect the current earthquake swarms in Iceland
(Mýrdalsjökull, Hengill,Tjörnes fracture zone and Askja) to reach their close to monthly maximum on August 2nd ish.
The last maximum was accompanied by a surge of steam venting from Eyjafallajokull caldera. Tthe one before was also, and was accompanies with a very
small magma expulsion too. The maximum before that was the main eruption itself, and the one before that was the first small eruption.
But this time, the earthquake swarms are moving further and further toward Katla! last month they were below Eyjafallajokull, but the magma below
those glaciers is creeping Eastwards and intrusion is peaking under the GOD seismic station at the moment, not Eyjafallajokull now, but at the western
edge of Katla itself!
I can't know any more than the experts whether it will erupt or not, but if it is going too, 2nd August is one of the most likely times!
Of course, the monthly maximum may pass as uneventfully as the last, as just a curiosity of a swarm of minor earthquakes, but only time will tell.
