I really feel bad for all these fisheries and the environmental repercussions of this tragedy. It seems this thing will leak until it is out of oil to discharge . BP may cap the first leak but now have to contend with this? What effect this will have on a global level will be huge!

I urge everyone to watch this documentary if they have not. It has little to do with oil spills, but you will see that this is how the people in the gulf are about to get treated. The same way they did the Navajo and Hopi back in the 1970's where they were forced off their land so that strip mines could come in.

I was watching TCM - turner classic movies earlier tonight and they aired this documentary and now I can see why because it shows what has happened to a people out of greed. I can see the people in the gulf being forced to relocate so they can continue to drill and turn that area into a wasteland. They did this before in history so why not now?

Weird thing is And I have it recorded. When the reporter was interviewing Jesse Jackson she says and I quote," Breaking News just in as scientists report a new leak from the Gulf of Mexico 22 miles off the coast near Mobile, AL. There is not a lot on information on this at this moment but the report that was handed to me says it may be larger than the first. I wonder how this has happened. " Then she bid the Rev. bye and commercials ensued. Nothing after.

I am sorry for the confusion but as you see I had reason for it.

simple... the government has been covering this up.

Please.. Please... Please... Post the video on you tube....

Well, it could very well happen - all of that. Sure we mustn't overreact but to downplay the whole thing like you're effectively doing via sarcasm towards concerned folk, is a tragedy in itself.

Yeah, well, when these same doom & guilt monger hype threads are riddled with endless falsehoods and fallacies, and attempts to get facts straight bring upon any rational sort the label of being an oil shill... well, you do the math.

Tragedy is when there are people screaming total doom and apocalypse (who don't know anything about the Gulf region, oil spills, etc), start grandstanding and screaming and then people who are actually directly or near-directly impacted by the event or its predictions are whipped into false states of panic. That is damage, and its been going on large scale.

So when there is spotty hype rational people are going to be extra weary.

I was actually going to post a lengthy response regarding my actual opinion to this entire subject, however I've changed my mind.

I'm left with only one question:

Taking all of reality into consideration, how long are we going to sit back and let these "top dogs" lie directly to our faces in regards to life changing events, before we actually *stand up* and stop it? Will it be... Forever? Because that's what it looks like.

I would most definitely lead the pack if I had the ability, but unfortunately I don't. However, I would gladly hop onto the "bandwagon," armed to teeth, if some type of revolt were to begin. I just don't have the financial backing to start anything worthwhile, by myself, or I would have already. Trust me.

All I can say for certain is that I'm growing incredibly tired of being walked on by people, corporations, industries and governments I have absolutely no care, nor respect for. I honestly wish I had the power to do something about it, besides babbling on virtual forums, but at this point I don't.

How about the rest of you?

Curious,
Strype

The last time I saw anything this insane was when there was a general consenses that a nuclear war was servivable.

No one seems to have the intelec to do anything but talk, they don't even seem to want to try.I have heard many good ideas on how to stop this and they choose what seems to be the worst idea.

With skimmers able to suck this oil up into a tanker there is none to be found, even Kevin Costner has invented a skimmer that will suck up 200,000 gallons an hour and has 26 of them ready to go and yet nothing.Talk about an agenda!!!!There not trying to kill the U.S. they want the whole world in the dumper...................or are we really this illiterate as a spicies????

As I looked at Obama's face today during his press conference, I got a feeling that there is something else wayyyy bigger than this oil spill going on. There's something else bigger, and it's not N. or S. Korea. I do feel that he's entirely inept at handling this disaster and it shows. But there's a sense that something else is happening right now that we don't know about.

And it's very possible that wikileaks is about to expose it.

Yea, he's gonna do the whole disclosure thing real quickly so we can all freak out, panic, calm down, accept ... Then the nice ET's will swoop down and sponge up all the oil for us big, fat, tantrum throwing, destructive babies.

May the fleas of 1,000 camels infest upon your crotch! Be careful before you speak. I only hope this is a rumor. Where's the link and why are we not seeing this on any other news outlet or media?

FWIW, Your paragraph above induced the following thought:

Ive been through the US Federal Court system twice.. (civil) and Ive fired many lawyers and gone pro-se. One thing is certain... at this time, I doubt there is a jury that will convict a citizen of anything related to opposing the current US Federal Reserve Government ... including paying Federal Reserve taxes to pay torturers or make me pay bonuses at JP Morgan Chase.

GEE, i wonder what happens to all the plants, fish, and animals in the water? Hmmm, i believe they end up on the beach with all the oil. THANKS BP for the DEATH AND DISEASE that is about to happen on the beaches to be impacted by the oil. Now you have a larger hole to deal with. Can you make it any bigger? Maybe you should try again and stuff some more golf balls down there. I'm sure the CEO of BP has lots of them.
