Yes. and if you read my posts you will see the thread is total BS twisted by the OP so he can continue his "Obama is God" posts and rudely attack anyone with opposing views.
I think a mod should close and take action to stop this kind of thread...

Since your links dispute rather than prove Massa's claims, I am surprised that you would even start a discussion about this [giving Massa another 15 minutes of fame].
The last I heard, General David Petraeus was not even registered to vote. He is so un-political.
Although, I could see how trying to work with one administration (pick practically any one in the last two centuries from either party) could convince a leader like General David Petraeus to pick the other one.

Oh dear this thread really got away from me. First off what I said in my initial post was not in any way saying that this story is not news worthy or idiotic but that the former-congressman himself is the clown in all of this, not the OP.
I agree with the OP that he used sound sources before posting here. Esquire is a great source and Politico is okay. I'd take either of them lightyears before I accepted something posted on say World Net Daily even though it seems half of the threads on this board are lifted straight off of WND's insanity.
As for virgom129, are you alright there mate? It seems you come a little unhinged whenever someone supports President Obama. I don't know what you have so against the man personally but wow. Now I am also a big supporter of President Obama, and if I were an American I'd surely have voted from him and would vote for his re-election from what I've seen so far. This is not to say he has been perfect or godly in my eyes, there are things I'd like to see him do or do differently, but he's been quite good so far from my perspective.
If I may be allowed to answer the question you posed to the OP, and don't worry about any "shrink BS" (seriously though virgom are you that gone, psychology is a well respected science man!) since I am a journalist myself.
So here's what I think your president has done for you, the people of the United States that I would agree with:
1) Lowered taxes substantially on most of the working class
2) Pulled the United States economy back from the brink of total collapse, admittedly President W. Bush gets some credit for this too as the fix started under his term
3) Set a deadline for withdrawing combat troops from Iraq (this August)
4) Is making a dedicated effort to actually win in Afghanistan
5) Finally began working under the understanding that both Israel and Palestine have fault in the current Intifada
6) Began a high-speed rail network project in the United States
7) Finally got healthcare reform passed
8) Began the process of repairing international image and relations after the Bush Administration
9) Ended "cowboy diplomacy" for sane rational action again
10) Has begun energy initiatives in order to lessen your nation's dependence on Middle-Eastern oil
11) Stopped the fearmongering hate
12) A bit of a bonus one I guess since it is not finished yet, he is currently working to overturn Don't Ask Don't Tell in the military.
So there you have it, my views, I guess as a liberal British socialist as to the good that has come from President Obama to you, the people of the United States.
