Rape Is Now More Acceptable! Can This Retched World Get Any Worse?

According to experts from Harvard University, there were more than 4000 cases of rape reported at the Panzi Hospital in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, from 2004 to 2008. That come to about 83 raped women a month or almost 3 per day!The study shows that the Rwandan militia and the army and Congolese, are literally raping the country. However, research found that 38% of rapes were committed by civilians in 2008, compared with less than 1% in 2004. Susan Bartels, chief researcher from the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative states,” "The scale of rape over DRC's years of war has made this crime seem more acceptable." And, "Rape of this scale and brutality is scandalous," said Krista Riddley, who directs humanitarian policy for Oxfam. "This is a wake-up call at a time when plans are being discussed for UN peacekeepers to leave the country. The situation is not secure if a woman can't even sleep safely in her own bed at night." Just as sad, Christianity is rapidly declining, while middle-eastern religion is on the same comparable rise.

I think this outrageous assertion is only someone's opinion.

I challenge anyone to find and tally the number of people who would accept that rape "isn't such a bad crime" and verify that people feel that is has become less abhorrent.

Of course, it is possible that bean-counting statisticians would, lacking even the most infinitesimal imagination, would rustle up this rationale as a causative or contributory factor in the rate of sex crimes.

It is more likely that as the establishment has become more or less committed to the social unrest, crimes which a prevalently civilian are being de-prioritized over whatever passes in their minds as national security.

There are some evil people in this world. But I would wager my life that there is no way ANY people, as a nation, as a community could be so utterly disconnected from each other as to think of rape in terms of "ho-hum."

Rape is just as bad as murder or any act of violence. Even if it's become saturated in a society does not make this heinous act any better or less evil.

Humanity has to have such a dark side, it's pathetic really.

It's Africa.. not entirely surprised.. When you live in a state of complete poverty and your overlords are setting the example.. typically the younger population growing up in that hell hole reflect what they see..

Congo has been one of the worst war zones in the World going on 15 years.. 2+ million dead, and warbands roving the country. Rape, murder, abuses of all kinds are committed against the people.. is it any wonder such barbaric actions are then parroted by the dominated?

... would seem a bit less provocative and/or inflammatory than the apparently Chosen "title" here.

Not to diminish or detract from the actualities therein, but to "sensationalize" the same purposefully would seem little more than akin to the whole "immigrant rapes a 12 year old" focus elsewhere on the boards.

Titles, Tags, Stars and Flags being whored out and intentionally exploited for a cause, reason or concern ... typically political, in nature.

Christianity is a middle eastern religion.

Islam, Christianity, and Judaism are all branches on the same tree. They have the same God, but different prophets. Judaism and Islam is still waiting for the Messiah, and Christianity thinks Jesus was the Messiah.

The Western religions are all dead.

With Christianity, Jesus Christ used the example of the olive tree: The Jews represent the olive tree and the Christians are the wild olive branch grafted to the tree. Christians know that G_D The Father has only one child, a Begotten Son. The other trees are thorn trees.
In Islam, the muslims worship the Moon god, who had three daughters, and NO sons. It is totally different.
However, since you didn't read either of the links that I presented, it is the muslim faith that is on the rise there in the DRoC.
Regardless, the researcher believes that her data indicates that the people there are beginning to feel that rape is part of the norm.
This is as disgusting as child porn becoming "norm" in Europe and homosexuality being the "norm " elsewhere. It's all, perverted, self pleasuring , warped, twisted behavior that ends in defeat.
