Update revised oil leak quantity

BP losing Gulf of Mexico oil rig spill battle so the headline says. BP admits its capturing far less crude than expected. BP has revised it figures this weekend from capturing 5000 barrels (954,500 litres) per day down to 2200 barrels (41,980 litres). I'm guessing that's about a semitrailer-tanker each day anyhow its a lot.

I had heard that there was an incident on Sunday 5/23 circa 5:45 CDT ... where much more oil was seen, and there were "sparks" visible (twice) ... and the ROV camera was lost in a plume of crude and in the black for over a minute.

When the video recovered from issues, it was a clear feed again? .. amazing! It is difficult to find feed now.


I also ran across information on the well in Mexico drilled into this same oil field (or very nearby?) ... which had exactly the same failure, and which spewed crude for 9 months!! ...

How in the name of responsible could the same technicians (same drilling company) have repeated such a terrible error ... or if they were forced to repeat it, repeat it without serious back up at hand?
...
I am just amazed that they could create a do-over of such a catastrophe.

I am not in your neck of the woods but we have our own problems with irresponsible oil tankers getting grounded on the reef. So much money in oil they think they are immune or have enough money to fix it.
Worse still it will cost them an arm and a leg so they will put up the price of fuel and we will pay - sucks

THERE IS A FIX FOR SPILLED OIL

The video is a bit long --- but it has ALL THE FACTS! ... The little microbes are amazing, and work fast; they have already cleaned a spill in the Gulf -- in 6 weeks!

There are warehouses full of barrels of this waiting for deployment.

Why don't the people outside of the BP Blackout Area .. get in touch with their local government folks and order some? ..

The fire department can apply it, and when the oil is gone, it dies, and leaves shrimp food behind!!
