So for a party I was at, using 'Hipstamatic' (an iPhone app that is a basic vintage replica) I asked someone to take a picture of me and my friends.

I have blurred out the picture for privacy reasons (the 'blur' is the only thing that was edited within the picture itself), and this picture was taken with the wall of the building we were at behind us. There was absolutely no one behind us, neither does whatever seen look remotely human.

Is this an illusion or what: what's your opinion?

Afraid not, my friend.
If what you're saying is true, then I believe that the face is part of the iPhone app, goodluck.

Hey Jesse ... if you know which app it is can you please let us know and with a source ... it's the best way to backup a statement ... otherwise people on ATS could just say anything! ...

EDit - Aaahhh ... HAHAHAhahaha ... hee ... heh ...

The OP named it already ... I am feeling a little

So I had a look at hipstamatic.com which gives me no indication of why the female face would appear in the photo taken ... the app recreates the look of the plastic disposable cameras.

To me, the face looks very, very human ... it is a profile of women looking to the right ... you can clearly see all her facial features.

either a double exposure trick on the app itself, someone standing on a stool behind the photographer, or photoshop.

Here's another thread wherein the iPhone ghost app was used by someone to hoax their friend.....in this case, the op!

The iPhone UFO app has also fooled a few people!

As another poster said you can clearly see that it's a human face in profile ... looking to the right of the picture ... hair tucked behind their ear.

No ghost ... can't even see why anyone would think it was

I appreciate that you want your privacy, but it's a shame that you've blurred the picture as it is quite difficult to see the whole image in context, which may have given a better perspective on the picture, as it just looks like a woman standing in the background of a very blurred picture to me!

I in no way faked the picture of whatever appears to be that. I know some people do, and I honestly don't know why they would waste other peoples' time.

I swear this isn't fake and I know for a fact that there was no one behind us. Besides if it was someone who just popped in the picture, the angle and direction this person looking doesn't look at all normal. I myself am constantly weary when I look at pictures like this, but believe me... this is real.

Your diagnosis of the authenticity of this photograph is up to you. I repeated, I used Hipstamatic—currently the #1 app in the 'Photography' section of iTunes. Furthermore, I used Roboto Glitter/BlacKeys B+W/Standard (flash). If you have Hipstamatic or know what it is, you know what I'm talking about.

I'd rather not post the original photo, but if you want to see it I'll U2U it to you, on the basis that you don't reveal it publicly on ATS' forums.

I just thought it was really weird seeing—what appeared to me—a floating head in a picture I took. I don't really care if you believe me or not, but does 'it' look like some random person jumping in the picture, or an authentic floating head/'ghost'?

Here is proof that this photo was taken in Hipstamatic—as you can't, as of now, import pictures into Hipstamatic.

And here is the picture brightened up:

Greetings friend,
I have seen a few pictures like this before (will edit when I find the source.)
It appears that this effect can be duplicated using the "liquify" effect in photoshop.

All the best, 711.

I have a question. Did you take this with a digital camera? what kind of camera and did you use or film? The filter on the first looks like it was damaged and the second fuzzy. What was the speed on also and setting?

I have seen on my digital camera black immages like these and i did not do anything to the camera that i was aware of. I still have the picture of the black going across my chest area.

Em...

This was taken off my iPhone using Hipstamatic, with a pre-made filter.

My conclusion is that, after talking with various people, it was probably some random girl standing behind us on top of a table/chair.

I just thought it was weird that the body was semi-translucent. Eh, probably wasn't a ghost.

On another note, can anyone here read Hebrew because I want something translated.
