Deadly blast hits Iraqi province

english.aljazeera.net

At least 30 people have been killed after a minivan packed with explosives blew up at a crowded market in Iraq's troubled northern Diyala province, police and officials said.

The attack on Friday also left 80 people wounded near a crowded cafe just steps from the headquarters of a police rapid-response unit in the town of Khalis, about 80km north of Baghdad, police said.

We are forgetting about Iraq now.

First we forgot about Afghanistan, and now we are forgetting about Iraq.

It is funny how everyone is pretending Iraq is doing soooo good.

I have read so many comment as such:
"We won Iraq war"
"Soldiers are not fighting anymore in Iraq"
"Iraq is democracy now"
"Iraq is stable now"

Iraq is not handy dandy, Iraq is still in a mess.

People are still being blown away, don't forget that.

And don't forget the reasoning behind these attacks.

IT is funny how ATS hasn't debated the reasoning behind these attacks yet.

I find it odd, when the message usually in this community is "deny ignorance".

How can we ignore the reasoning? How can we solve an issue without taking in to consideration the reasoning behind the problem.

GOD have mercy.

But of course don't you get it! New President equals new policy (even though everything stays the same). Iraq is Bush's war. Lets not burden the golden boy with such trivial issues.

Sarcastic of course.

My point still stands, ATS has also forgotten about the Iraq war, and the continuous death and destruction which is going on there.

Now here is a question worth pondering:
If this bomb exploded in the US would this thread be filled within 10 minutes? But since it is happening in Iraq, it is quiet empty, as if people are desensitized in regards to Iraqi deaths.

Tell me if I'm wrong.
