The most important question. Are they hostile? NO!

Caelinium, I apprieciate your rather unique view (really) and the time you spent to respond, both with videos and long, well written comments.

But what you're saying..."Then start to consider what an alien species would do to us. Obviously only the brain dead would think that the alien species would be intending to do us any favours what so ever." Is the case in point logical flaw of the anthropomorphizing of E.T.s.

Why do you think that they are as bad if not worse than humans. Forgive my arrogance, if it may be so called, but I just dont get it.

Besides what evidence is there to suggest such a view (other than the abduction phenomena which I briefly touched on in the original vids)?

thanks

Luke

That's a pretty brain dead sentence if you ask me. "The alien species"...? There's only one? If one alien race exists - just one - logic alone would tell you that millions, if not billions, of other must exist too.

You don't seem to take account of that in all your New Age-inspired posts.

Thanks to everyone who posted. I have more than enough good argument to make like ten parts lol.

I need to do more research.

If aliens have advanced their spacecraft to the point that they can travel to earth, then I think that they aren't hostile. Beings that advanced would have realized that human life is both beautiful and interesting to them, and also that the need for war was useless. They most likely would have developed a cheap, abundant fuel source to get here, erasing the need for our resources, and will only have come for exploration, just as we want to do in the future.

That would be nice, but I'm not sure that it necessarily follows. Our technological ability is outpacing our social development. Who knows what we'll be capable of in 200 years? Whatever it is we'll still be the same basic murderous animal underneath. Even if we go the genetic engineering route its unlikely we'll be deliberately increasing our offsprings docility.

I'm uneasy with equating advanced with enlightened. Given that in the only example we have of a technical society (us) it definitely doesn't apply.

I would say that mankind is not suitable to work with science, instead we need to work on our interior qualities by meditation and self-cultivation.

I suppose they could simply be in watch-and-wait mode. They certainly seem to have an interest in our nuclear facilities. Don't forget the Roswell crash was both near the location and time of our first nuclear test.

If we found a more efficient way to travel large distances in space, -and- we had developed more potent weapons, there could be a quick change of attitude.. from wait and watch, to eliminate. Would you want a space faring species with an penchant for violence and weapons design to be roaming around your galaxy?
