Glenn Beck feuds with congressman over gold investigation

news.yahoo.com

Fox News host and conservative talker Glenn Beck is firing back after New York Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner issued a report critical of Goldline International, a gold retailer and one sponsor of Beck's cable show. Goldline is among several gold concerns that advertise with Beck while Beck offers testimonials about gold — an arrangement that's sparked some conflict-of-interest complaints about the pundit.

Ok.

This is BS.

Why?

The #1 PROGRESSIVE talk show on the radio...THE THOM HARTMANN SHOW....ALSO promotes selling Gold and looming inflation...which he OFTEN TALKS ABOUT JUST LIKE BECK.

This is all BS. I'm not a fan of Beck...but this is stupid. If you try to nail him...might as well nail the rest of them.

Inflation is coming....I'm not even sure what the big deal is anyway...it's not like most of the people listening can EVEN AFFORD to buy gold.

I completely agree with you. For years George Noory and Art Bell touted gold on their show, even though I remember one of their guests calling out the gold market as a massive racketeering ring.

Gold is a scam, and anyone who promotes a scam should be punished and ousted.

As much as I'd like to see Glenn Beck beaten and dragged through the streets of America, this seems like a pretty ridiculous issue to go after someone over. Especially since any manipulation or wrong doing is the responsibility of the parent company and not the mindless idiot who shills it for dollars. This government is so ass backwards. They can't even persecute people correctly.

I agree with you both.

It's just a hit piece. There are countless talking heads pushing gold and warning of inflation...Beck is only one.

In fact, Thom Hartmann (who I referred to earlier) was talking about inflation LONG LONG before Beck ever muttered the words in 2007.

He always talks as if he's the only one trying to get the word out...it's simply not true.

Beck's new alliance with Freedom Works is also hilarious as well...since he denied that the Tea party groups had anything to do with Freedom works...and now he's telling his viewers to go to THEIR WEBSITE!!!!

Yes, that's off topic, but no one is looking or commenting on it.

Yeah, that was the first thing that made me go "Huh?" as well. I've heard gold ads on virtually every radio show I follow. Being a fanatical Art Bell fan, I can probably recite a lot his gold ads word for word since I've heard them so many times on his show. So how is this even an issue or that congress is targeting one man for something that to my knowledge is not against the law nor noticeably corrupt? Beck just reads the copy and cashes the checks. Something that for a "newsman" 99% of the time would be appalling but in this one instance absolves him of any guilt or wrong doing. I can't imagine this waste of our tax dollars is going to get any further than the preliminary phases and is nothing more than to get negative press on Beck.

I have to admit though, as much as I find Fox News and their talking heads to be the nexus of evil and filled with more propaganda than Al Jazeera... they are ridiculously good at baiting the US Government into looking stupid.

I'd still like to see that pill pooping tweaker be dragged through the streets though. We could use it as a fund raiser for the USO. $5 a rock to throw. But that's really more the emotional side of me coming out. Legally Beck hasn't done anything wrong.

If they were smart they would be selling silver, much easier to transport and use for exchange.

If the SHTF and you need to sell/trade your gold for food or toilet paper. Who will buy it?

In the current market: For the savy investor/gambler that knows the fluctuations of spot prices; gold is like a license to steal.
