Hmm you might want to mail that Muslim news site and explain that to them. I am sure you can find a mailto on the link.

I was also wondering how many times nudity and other types of behaviour like that have cost previous winners their crowns? I remember the recent Prejean scandal, but I seem to recall there was more than one.

I saw an interview with them and they are dumb as rocks. They would do this site a disservice to post here.

Aw! Come on! They would fit right in on the 9-11 boards.

I have more important things to do with my time, but I will believe the woman herself over a website.

I ran across this today. Source

Seems only the women who had particularly scandalous photos have been stripped of their titles. But who knows how it will go for Miss Fakih? There doesn't seem to be a standard for this sort of thing.

Other beauty queens have gotten in trouble and been able to keep their crowns. Miss USA 2006 Tara Connor almost lost her title over underage drinking and hard partying, but she entered a drug rehabilitation program and was allowed to keep her crown.

However, Miss Nevada 2007 Katie Rees lost her crown after scandalous pictures of her surfaced on the Internet.

Partially nude photos of 2009's Miss California Carrie Prejean didn't cause her to lose her title (Prejean claimed the photos were legitimate modeling). But pageant officials later terminated Prejean's contract after she made comments against gay marriage. Pageant officials said she didn't hold up her end of the pageant agreement. Prejean said she suffered discrimination for her views. Dueling lawsuits were settled out of court.

Well the War on Terror is alive and well here on ATS, as the bigots and xenophobes of the world, do their level best to terrorize us all with their peculiar brand of dysfunctional thinking.

A beauty pageant is of course about beauty, skin deep beauty, and she is a remarkably beautiful woman.

It is a beauty pageant.

Not a religious contest.

Not a morality contest.

Not a nationality contest.

Not a political contest.

If there was a pageant for ugliest and most agenda ridden bigoted opening post here on ATS, I sure know which one would get my vote!

The Miss USA contest is NOT about your relatives.
It is all about beauty.

The girl deserves the title.

And yet the judges continue to ask questions like "What is your stance on illegal immigration?" That came from a latino judge directed toward Miss OK. I hate these contests personally. They are shallow and for two years it seems that they already had in mind who was going to take the crown. It pisses me off to no end how the U.S. media depicts fat people as the most horrible people on earth and constantly parades anorexia.

She's gorgeous, no doubt, but these pageants tout themselves as judging on poise, talent, and intelligence as well.
I wouldn't assume that a poster who disagrees with the judges decision does so based on ethnicity.
How does that differ from the discrimination of which they're accused ?
The blogger quoted does have an agenda, but the OP seemed to be alerting people to a conspiracy theory, not advocating it.Identifying a potential new conspiracy theory, however unpopular, is grounds for the OP to be somewhat vehemently shouted down?
As for those stripper pictures, we'll see how much times have changed.
As lovely as that girl is, she's no Vanessa Williams, yet.

No. She won because the other contestant voiced her support of the Arizona immigration law. Our society has become soft minded and labels anyone who speaks their true heart as "haters" or "fringe people" because America has no balls anymore. Our nation has slid into the same hole that the Ostrich once occupied and even when criminals enter our homeland illegally there are those who will take every measure to ensure that they benefit from the hard work of citizens who actually do pay taxes and their fair share just to be "middle road grounded" instead of standing up and taking a stand.

Sure, this nation was built by immigrants but today's immigrants compared to those of yesteryear are a far cry different in both purpose for coming to the US as well as their motives and willingness to abide by the citizenship laws & requirements for becoming a legal citizen.

I support any immigration law that keep immigrants from sneaking into the US. Unless they become citizens legally.
