I'm not just speaking for myself but for the large number of others who have made a post and had at least one old member or mod say "There is
already a thread about this" and even sometimes the thread is locked.
Locking these types of threads is bad policy, because even if the newbies don't do a search you should at least give them some room to catch up in
their own way. This forum has lots of active members and of course sooner or later everything will have been talked about, and what then?!?!? Might as
well just lock the entire forum up with a big message above it saying "Do a search!".
If someone goes through the trouble to make an honest thread just ignore the thread if you find it redundant. By all means don't lock it and commit
information murder. Deny Ignorance? sure....
Every contribution is different in at least some minute way, so in conclusion instead of locking someone out of potential answers and other important
responses to their questions or thoughts, just ignore the thread and let it die off on it's own. At least that's fair.
