Huge underwater oil plumes found in Gulf of Mexico

news.yahoo.com

If the tube works, it would be the first time the company has been able to capture any of the oil before it fouls the Gulf waters.

Researchers from the National Institute for Undersea Science and Technology, meanwhile, say they have detected large oil plumes from just beneath the surface of the sea to more than 4,000 feet deep.

Three or four large plumes have been found, at least one that is 10 miles long and a mile wide, said Samantha Joye, a marine science professor at the University of Georgia.

The amount of disinfo on this oil spill that has come out has been staggering.

From the get go, it has appeared to me that there is an agenda here.

I believe the oil spill was deliberate. Now, I'm interjection opinion with fact here, so debunkers, don't lambaste me for not relying on complete facts (unclassified facts anyway).

It is my opinion that this spill is designed to bring down America.

The reason the spill was underplayed from the beginning, was because they had to allow it to get big enough to cause a catastrophic environmental event in the Gulf.

Now we all know that the US is hanging on the edge of a cliff, financially speaking. BP has said that they would pay for the cleanup, but we all know that it could take years to get that money back.

Massive amounts of oil dispersants (almost 500,000 gallons) have been used to hide the actual size of the spill, as this article demonstrates.

As many on ATS already know, the US Air Force, has for decades, experimented with "seeding" hurricanes in the Gulf.

I believe, with Katrina, they got what they wanted. Now, armed with this data, they create (yes I said create) the spill so that it is at it's worst right during hurricane season.

One bad hurricane will literally devastate the Gulf Coast, and will affect the US more than most people can imagine.

Not only will oil prices shoot through the roof, but millions will be out of work, and the cleanup costs will be beyond staggering.

For an economy that is already limping on a crutch, this will be the final straw.

People will revolt, and martial law will be instilled. The end of America, through a British company. Finally, the Queen will get her payback.

I just wanted to add a little backstory about hurricane modification.

Most DHS research money
does go toward detection of chemical, biological, and nuclear threats, and the high-risk budget is just 1 percent of the whole. But Cohen has been an advocate of new technologies. As for hurricane modification, scientists say research itself can reap benefits. "Even if we can't change their direction," says Golden, "we may develop better ways to predict where storms will make landfall."

www.usnews.com...

You see, the Dept of Homeland Security is in charge of this "hurricane steering" research, in conjuction with the US Air Force.. Guess who Obama puts in charge of the oil spill? Janet Napolitano, or DHS...

That's why it was termed an emergency of National Significance, even as the scale of the disaster was being downplayed. That opened the door for Federal Response, and DHS heading up the whole thing.

Do you think that it is a coincidence that Obama signed the Health Care Bill, with 22 pens, and the oil rig sinks on 4/22? If so, you are naive.

As open as I am to conspiracy theories I think insuating that this was purposely done is a little too out there even for me. You have to remember the powers that be have villas, enclaves, yacts, ranches, retreats what have you ALL OVER THE WORLD. The oceans are their playgrounds. They want to be able to enjoy pristine beaches and fresh seafood as much as the next person. I hardly doubt they would wantonly destroy the entire gulf of mexico. That makes zero sense and there are many other ways to destroy and gut the American economy. In fact they were doing a great job before this happened. Not everything is a conspiracy.......this was just complete incompetence and a disregard for safety and precautionary measures.

what the hell for??? it hasn't been done on purpose, they could have made more money by selling the oil not draining it into the sea

Fair enough.

I will show more corraborating evidence.

From the subcontractor who reportedly modified the BOP without the knowledge or permission of BP, to the government regulators who okayed the modified BOP, to the Obama administration who wants to look tough on BP even thought the company had no culpability, everyone but BP is running for cover. Internal records show that Cameron built the BOP and delivered it to Transocean. Before the BOP was put into service, it was reportedly altered by Transocean with no modification approval or notes. The BOP was then installed, and the modifications are assumed to have prevented the part from operating properly. These modifications were discovered by remote operated vehicles, whose pictures transmitted to engineers trying to establish why the BPO didn't activate, showed the part had been altered. Yesterday, top BP executives met with Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar and the U.S. Coast Guard and told them about the tampered BOP and the fact that BP had no knowledge the device had been altered.

gcaptain.com...

Furthermore...

Stupak said congressional investigators also have learned that the emergency controls on the blowout preventer "may have failed."

A representative of Transocean, owner of the drill rig, told the committee that any modification of the blowout preventer would have been done at BP's request. So far, there has been no response from BP on the allegation.

[Updated at 11:03 a.m.: In Tuesday's Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee hearing, Lamar McKay, president and chairman of BP America, said: "We do have reason to believe that it was modified. I don't know the extent of those modifications."]

I think that suggest these people need more money, is almost laughable.

It's not about money, it's about control. The US is the last stumbling block for global control, and a global dictatorship.

Have to thank you for putting it all together. A window of opportunity was created, it will be exploited. Chain reaction to occur. Not prophecy, just observation.

Well, I think you hit it on the head. Revelations, in my opinion, is a manmade prophecy, or a self fulfilling prophecy, which, when fulfilled, brings about the necessity of the return of Jesus, or supernatural interference if you like.

To bad people are ignoring the article. 100 square miles of underwater oil patches is nothing to undermine.

The fact that people in a conspiracy forum actually think this is an accident, shows how easy people can be duped.

do you think that the acts of cutting corners, and inferior equipment originates from the top-down or from the bottom up?
the corporate culture of greed, slapping sytems together to meet a deadline, the hubris of 'having done this scores of times before' with no ill effects I think played an important role in the event that happened

~~
how many other Blow-out-preventers are shortcircuted, modified, not safe??
!! every well head will need to be reinspected and cleared for operation !!

every industry is destined to have layers & layers of inspectors and oversight and code compliance specialists and further inspectors to double check the first wave of scrutiny.
the pass-the-buck way of doing business is going to regulated out of all phases of the oil industry Architecture

Well, you've made my point so well. Cutting corners?

If they were worried about money, they would triple and quadrupal check these BOP's as the payout (which they will never pay) from a catastrophic event such as what has happened, would enGulf whatever savings they would be reaping from cutting corners.

This is not how the forth largest company in the world operates. These people don't cut corners. It's not like they need the money.

I can't believe people don't understand that fact.

One of the plumes is reported as 10 miles long 3 miles wide and 300 feet thick.

By JUSTIN GILLIS

updated 9:04 p.m. ET, Sat., May 15, 2010
NEW YORK - Scientists are finding enormous oil plumes in the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico, including one as large as 10 miles long, 3 miles wide and 300 feet thick. The discovery is fresh evidence that the leak from the broken undersea well could be substantially worse than estimates that the government and BP have given.

Let's dig a little deeper into the background of the chairman of BP.

Mr Svanberg was appointed a non-executive director of BP on 1 September 2009 and, in succession to Mr Sutherland, became chairman of BP on
1 January 2010. He is chairman of the chairman’s and the nomination committees, and attends meetings of the remuneration committee.

Now, what is Ericsson up to?

Sony Ericsson Says RFID will be in all new mobiles by 2010

It’s a two-way, bio-directional RFID communication link that makes this device work as a tag or as a reader.”

Mobile phones could also soon become instruments of fraud detection. Djuphammar said credit card companies could make use of mobile user location data and IP mapping to ascertain whether a credit card transaction is taking place in the vicinity of the official card holder and thus judge whether that transaction is likely to be genuine or not

Let's not forget, Ericsson recently aquired Nortel, supposedly a bankrupt company, but actually a CIA front company working on the ability to control nanotechnology through cell phone signals.

BP has four direct links to Bilderberg: former CEO John Brown, chairman Carl Henric Svanberg, chief executive Tony Hayward and Sutherland. In addition, Sutherland formerly served as the World Trade Organization’s director general, EU commissioner and chairman of the European Trilateral Commission.

This background information is important because the top recipient of BP donations during the 2008 presidential campaign was Obama. Similarly, the second highest political action committee contributing to a political candidate in 2008 was Goldman Sachs. The beneficiary of their largess: Obama.

Breaking News Update

Barack Obama sends nuclear experts to tackle BP's Gulf of Mexico oil leak
The US has sent a team of nuclear physicists to help BP plug the "catastrophic" flow of oil into the Gulf of Mexico from its leaking Deepwater Horizon well, as the Obama administration becomes frustrated with the oil giant's inability to control the situation.

The five scientists visited BP's main crisis centre in Houston earlier this week, along with Mr Chu, and are to continue to work with the company's scientists and external advisers to reach an answer.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Mr Hayward said the five-hour meeting involved a "very deep dive" into the situation at hand, with "lots of nuclear physicists and all sorts of people coming up with some quite good ideas actually."

Pressed further about the meeting, he said they had "come up with one good idea" but declined to elaborate.

The five include 82-year-old Richard Garwin, who designed the first hydrogen bomb, and Tom Hunter, head of the US Department of Energy's Sandia National Labs.

In addition, Mr Chu has already despatched Marcia McNutt, the head of the US Geological Service, to the oil company.

I wouldn't want to be living on the Gulf Coast right now. Seriously, they are considering NUKING this? They came up with a good idea, but failed to elaborate??

Hmm,declined to elaborate hey...I bet they did.
No one likes pre irratiated seafood.

I mean, you don't send in nuclear engineers/physicists to block the leak with cheese IMO.

Obama is considering nuking the leak...

We are all being lied to!

BP has resisted entreaties from scientists that they be allowed to use sophisticated instruments at the ocean floor that would give a far more accurate picture of how much oil is really gushing from the well.

“The answer is no to that,” a BP spokesman, Tom Mueller, said on Saturday. “We’re not going to take any extra efforts now to calculate flow there at this point. It’s not relevant to the response effort, and it might even detract from the response effort.”

With these underground bunkers, i would say they enjoy chaos and death much more. The rush of giving the ok on a huge plan of destruction may be worth more to them then their yacht. They are just addicted to chaos.

First post here

Lets say with all of this additional oil being dumped in the gulf from a breech and the toxins that are being used to disperse the oil are caught up in a hurricane... the storm surge could push this inland and I believe that would make the gulf coast a wasteland.. literally. Im originally from Louisiana... storm surge pushes far in.
If the hurricane picks up oil or chemicals theyre using and it comes inland as it always does.. pushes sometimes far into the midwest even... what happens when this crap is rained down on farm lands??
