The story that I am about to tell you is from a friend of the family that was stationed at Fort Hood for well over 20 years. Im not gonna name his name out of respect for him.

I got a visit yesterday evening from an old friend of mine and my fathers. My father was over visiting and the old friend stopped by. The conversation was going great and then the friend started talking about that new show on the History channel called Ancient Aliens and how he was enjoying it. So we discussed that show for a little bit and then the conversation started to get a little strange to say the least.

Next thing I know, he told us that he wants to tell us something that has been a huge burden for him for years and how he needs to get the proverbial monkey off his back. He claims that back in 1949, two UFO's crashed in a secluded field outside of Gatesville Texas which is very very close to Fort Hood (he didnt give details on how they crashed because he didnt know) and went on saying how that incident just didnt any pub - Anyhow, apparently a team quickly set out from Camp Hood (the base was called Camp Hood back then) and retrieved these objects and took them back to the base and he also claims that they retrieved 6 EBE's from this crash as well (5 were dead and 1 was barely alive and died a week later) - He was pretty vague about how this entire crash retrieval team went about doing this etc - I didnt question him about it because I didnt want him thinking that I was thinking that he was full of crap....because hey, who am I to say that? I mean, I took him for his word because this guy has never had a reason to lie to me or my family about anything.

The story got weirder however.......

He went on and said how there is an underground base at Fort Hood. It goes down 3 levels and he says that the 3rd level contains these two UFO's and those 6 EBE's. The 3rd level is more than a mile deep under the ground he claims. He says that he has seen them with his own two eyes (the craft and the ETs) on many occasions. He said that the craft are the classic Saucer shape, but they are pitch black. Its almost like you are looking into a void when you see them is how he described it.

After this discussion I got online and I found this

In 1949, during the months of March through June a series of UFO Sightings occurred over Camp Hood now Fort Hood), in Central Texas.

Along with this: Fort Hood is mentioned here for having an underground base with multiple levels

Fort Hood, Texas (also reported detainment camp) Levels: Multiple

I had no idea that Fort Hood had that above incident back in 1949 and Fort Hood is one of (if not the biggest?) Military bases in the world. You just dont hear a lot about this base throughout Ufology and I find that odd since you are always hearing about UFOs being around Military bases, whether nuclear or otherwise.

Anyhow - You can take this story anyway you wish. Its probably hard to swallow and believe (trust me, im having a rough time wrapping my head around this one myself) - Because you would think that somewhere down the line that two UFOs crashing would have been reported.

Radar?

Since when does the military rely on news reports to monitor air traffic? I assume it's standard procedure for the military to monitor the airspace. It would be ridiculous for them not to.

Interesting story lets hope you hear more from your friend.

these sightings were rampant during march through to August 1949

8:20 p.m. (AFOSI 29 & 30) Army Sgt. Hubert Vickery and PFC John Ransom on patrol at the AFSWP (Armed Forces Special Weapons Project) nuclear weapons storage site saw a blue-white oblong object about 2 ft x 1 ft in size travel S from 286° to 279° azimuth elevation 5°45'. Other sightings by Army patrols from 8:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. (FOIA)

And this other one is interesting
ut to prove the sightings wrong

7:52 p.m. Capt. Horace McCulloch, Asst. G-2 of the 2nd Armored Division at the nuclear weapons storage site, was preparing the test firing of flares in order to prove recent sightings were mistakes when he and his men themselves saw aerial phenomena, 7 separate sightings by trained artillery observers in different locations enabled rapid triangulation of large, green, red and white flare-like objects flying in generally straight lines. (FOIA) 1 hr ?

Thanks for the link and all the information rgarding the 1949 incident compiled on ufo case book comes from NICAP
www.nicap.org...

They have full list of all sightings in 1949 that can be viewed here
from the project blue book archive:

Thanks

Thank you for posting your very interesting story.

The problem is, we only have your word via ATS this discussion ever took place.....& I'm afraid I don't know you well enough to simply trust that you are telling the truth.

Add to that the fact we don't know if we can trust the person who told you that story.

So.....

.....here's a story from me.....

A few years ago a very close member of my family who was an EXTREME skeptic reported to me & my family in great detail, a very graphic saucer sighting. This encompassed an accompanying witness who I also know, close observations including detail of the craft & observations lasting approx 10-15 minutes.

DO you believe me?

SHOULD you believe me?

It's true, you know.....

Kind regards

I understand totally - This is just word of mouth. I wouldnt blame anyone for saying its all made up or lies etc.

I do have a question though:

How many "new" incidents have cropped up over say.....the past decade from the 60s on back? Have their been any incidents nobody has heard of until the last decade or so?

There have been a ton of UFO sightings in Central Texas over the past several years or so. The Stephenville UFO wave for one.

Heck, I even saw a UFO as I described in that one post I made.

Just a couple points.

One, you said he was "stationed" on FT Hood for over 20 years. If he was military that would be impossible. I don't know a civilians that work for the military as calling it stationed somewhere.

Second, did he say where he got his info. 1949 was 61 years ago.

I'm just curious, I have been on numerous Army bases and every base has some secret legend to it from the Nazi ghosts that marched around my base in Germany, the M1 tank at the gold vault/ secret underground rail road at Ft Knox, to the secret tunnels that house military equipment on the base I'm at now.

Military people love good rumors

Hmmm! Not to say I give any credibility to the story this guy has given us, but I was a Dept of Army GS-14 "stationed" in Korea for 26 years.

Anything is possible. Although it is rare for a civilian to be stationed at one place for so long, it is possible, as in my case, to avoid rotation by simply voluntarily extending your tour of duty.

Yeah. It's hard to believe, but GS employees use the same terms as the military they are there to support.

IMHO, the fact that the claimed incident happened 61 years ago is not as important as what the guy claimed he personally observed at the hidden facility. The USA has hidden facilities located around the world. Not just limited to the USA and certainly not limited to concealing ET's.

Perhaps some of you can remember the incident in Iran when the entire embassy staff was taken hostage? Didn't you ever wonder what they were doing in the middle of the desert? The rescue team helicopters actually collided in the Iranian desert while they were refueling and accessing the hidden weapons stash the USA had located in the desert in order to equip properly for the rescue attempt.

These are called "POMCUS" sites. There are literally hundreds of these hidden sites located around the globe mostly in hot spots (right under the noses of potential enemies) or in close proximity to hot spots and very well hidden. Some of these facilities are huge with multiple levels.

If disclosure doesnt happen soon, I might have to get some troops together and take that place by force, battle our way down to the lower levels then fly out using these alien ships. ;P

I wasn't flat out denying that it happened. I am just trying to connect the dots where he got his info.

When I read things posted by military members, or quotes from military members there are specific words that are used that stand out for me like "being stationed" etc.

As to the underground base, I am not denying the existance, I am just saying be careful, as every base has a rumor of some sort. Some people are so wrapped up into the rumor they twist it and make it seem they have knowledge.

You would not believe how many stories I have heard or secret this and secret that. It seems all of the opening to these secrets are always in impact areas (where all the bullets and bombs land for training)

Now I have seen some of these "secret bases" or command centers but if you do the research you find out they are left over from the cold war when the military figured every base would be nuked and needed vast fall out shelters. Cheaper to leave them than fill them in.

Now as to seeing UFO's, got me stumped. I would love to hear more from him or her

wow very interesting, underground bases are probally around the country more than we think, denver international airport! crazy stuff, but this story is cool it confides with other printed stories and government details. why dosnt the government just say" hey guys, we are not alone in this massive never ending always changing universe" but" we want control of all your money and your life!

After reading the OP and reading the responses, I will make the following observation:

We finally have a few older military men and civilian government workers who are bravely coming forward with accounts of what they have seen during their term of service. So the OP posts here what he was told.

I personally am very happy that he made the post and the information is available to us.

What I have a problem with is the people who respond like attack dogs and try to chew the OP to pieces. So what does that do to other people who read the entire thread? My view is that it discourages the people who come forward with information. Why should they subject themselves to the abuse?

It is exactly the reason that should I come across similar information I will not post it in the ATS forum,

Blackout: Great Post! S & F to you. I believe your friend is not the only one who wondered/knows about sightings in that area, however it is first time I have heard yours, so did some digging around and found this post regarding a possible retrieval at Gatesville a guy reported in 2008. Thanks for contributing! Check this out:

"Strange Happenings at Gatesville, Texas Fort Hood Military Base
February 15, 2008
Dr. David Harrington

Gatesville Texas is situated close to Fort Hood, one of the largest military bases in the United States.

Helicopters out on training runs are an every day sight. I've seen many of these training convoys, and feel I know when there is something a little odd about military activity in the area...

" Between 7:00pm and 9:00pm CST on February 14th 2008, I observed first, two AH-64 A/D Apache Longbow gunships fly overhead heading in a east to west direction. The two helicopters were approximately 600 yards apart, flying one in front of the other. A minute or so later, another Apache Longbow flew over, this one equipped with a searchlight which was on at the time of its overhead pass, an action unusual in itself. Approximately five minutes later, a CH-47

(Chinook) helicopter flew over, flying again, in the same direction, with what appeared to be lifting straps attached to the underbelly. Because of the time of evening, this detail is difficult to prove for certain, but the Chinook is used for transporting large items, and lifting straps are sometimes used in just such an operation.

Thirty minutes later, one more Apache Longbow helicopter was seen flying in the same direction. At this point, I threw on a jacket, and walked to a neighbor's house, a neighbor who knows more about military training operations than I do, and asked if it were possible that the heilos were just on a training run, or if it were something else. The neighbor agreed with me that because of the nature of the convoy and the presence of a Chinook and a spotlight-equipped gunship, that the convoy MIGHT be involved in a possible recovery operation of some sort, or may have been searching for something. I stayed at the neighbor's house, visiting until about 9:00pm. As we stood outside, yet another Apache (note that I had yet to see nor hear any of the others
return) flew over, and after what appeared to be a distance of three to four miles, banked, reduced speed, and flew in a south to north direction.

It seemed as though these military helicopters were involved in some sort of search/recovery operation. Of what sort, I don't know. I felt this worthy of mention amid the numerous UFO sightings which have taken place in this part of Texas. Gatesville lies about 60 miles from Stephenville."

Report on File.

Early radar is linked, implicated say some, in reports of UFO crashes from the period.

One thing though, a crash retrieval and storage on one of the biggest US mill bases doesn't sound like a good mix for a huge national secret being kept, but then again we don't know how many guys that have heard the rumours haven't told friends like this guy did.

Thats a very interesting story.

I've lived in central TX my entire life and never heard about Ft Hood having anything to do with UFO or aliens.

I guess that was directed towards me. I am not attacking, in fact I have S & F this thread because it is interesting. I am not attacking, in fact I would love to hear more. I am skeptical of course, as I have been on the receiving end of these stories before, first hand accounts of grand plans, bases etc etc.
If we can dive deeper into the story I would like to help piece together info on location, entrance, support structure etc.

With reference to the question you asked in the last part of your post:
My response is the same as your handle, maybe, or maybe not. Details, we need more details!

The underground base aspect is definitely possible given the huge size of this base. The EBE aspect would of course make it another unknown Roswell situation...which, at the least is definitely "food for thought"...
