When I get home from work later, I'll upload to my ATS media a few photos of sunsets I've taken in the past coupla of weeks. Unlike the photos in the OP, these are of the sun without cloud cover to diffuse the view of the sun.

I pursue photos of the green flash, and thus I have several years' worth of sunsets, usually beginning with the sun high in the sky. Of course, I don't save every photo session, but there are several.

In short, there's no other sun there, just Sol. If anything else were visible from any place on the planet, it would also be visible here, in the Caribbean.

I'll be back in about six hours.

Cheers

Please remember that it is only visible on certain days.

It's visible only on the days you aren't looking for it. When you do look, it just so happens that it's not visible.

Kinda like the monster under my kid's bed.

people are seeing something.
I seen this myself

People aren't seeing something, more people are pointing their poor quality cameras at the sun and getting strange pictures because of the hysteria of 2012 and nibiru, the more people that cry there's another planet coming into the solar system, the more people will try to photograph that planet, even if there is nothing to photograph.

Well said. If I thought it would do any good, I'd post one photo from my (usual) nightly sunset sequence to let people know what the sun looks like unencumbered by clouds. We have cloud cover sometimes too. I guess that's when THE DESTROYER makes itself visible.

hmmmm. That was a bit derisive for me. I don't wish to insult anyone, however, having taken thousands of sunset photos in the last 4 years, I'm certain there has been nothing beside the sun. We are blessed with reasonably clear skies most of the time (no industry, and we're a dinky island in the middle of nowhere).

Let me ask you something. Do you think it would help to continue to post clear sunset photos, or would that just be a waste of time? I'm willing, if others think it would do some good.

Ive seen this too!! me my brother and friend were standing on the porch and we were looking at what we thought was the sun. it was hidden behind some clouds like the pictures ( we live in california ). we thought it was weird because we could actually look into it with out squinting or anything. once i stepped off my porch and out from underneath the overhang i saw the real sun not too far away from the other light. It blew my mind. i was like "what the hell?!?!". i called my bro out to come see it and we were all trippin out on it. As the day went on the fake sun seemed to stay in the same place but get slightly dimmer until it wasnt there any more.

We thought we were crazy until we saw this thread

I know from personal experience there is something in our solar system NASA and other government agencies don't want us to know about. On the days when 'X' is supposed to be visible, try using Google Earth Sky. You'll find that there'll be a nice, large, black rectangle censoring a sizable portion of the sky. This box is only there on the day(s) 'X' is visible. Microsoft's astronomy program also censors, but more tactfully, by overlaying the censored area with snapshots from the previous day.

So the real question is...

Why block out the sky if you're not trying to hide anything?

When you see it clearly with your own eyes it makes you want to look into it further.I woke my missus at 5.30am to come and see it (waking my missus that early is a very dangerous move).Since then i have looked into the phenomena, its an interesting subject to research.

Google earth isn't run by NASA, and ofcourse there's going to be problems with the software, if you look around with it, you'll see all sorts of graphical problems, they're trying to map the entire sky for gods sake, do you expect perfection?

Most of the deep space images on Google Sky come from the DSS consortium. These images were taken in the 1970's and 1980's. There are no real time images on Google Sky (or Google Earth for that matter) or on Microsoft's WWT.

Then it is probably a really good thing that this second sun waited until humans had the technology to hide it before bothering to come around and just hop on in without a whisper.

What I'm noticing here is the same band of idiots who are coming in to slam me with their own dull humor... Rather than an intelligent response, I get school yard crap. This photo was released today from STEREO AHEAD satellites. Let's see you guys debunk this!!! Nope, not Venus, not lens flare, or a sun dog... lol STFU! Click the link below to eat your words!!!!!!!

well so much for worrying about the sun burning out, not that anyone was really worried about that to begin with.

I don't call a $300 digital camera "poor quality" I say you just need an excuse to try to derail the topic.

Not that I believe any of this (anymore), but I'd just love to hear the explanation for why this "planet" is sometimes seen as ENORMOUS and sometimes tiny?
Does it move back or forth or what? Does it inflate and shrink somehow?

I'd just love to hear what is used for an excuse to explain this...

Remeber, there is nothing bad with admitting you are wrong.

You should've mentioned the fact that the moon also appears this way at times... So I ask you, what causes this?

What new nonsense is this ?

Two suns ?

Where ?

Show me

Clear blue sky here

One sun in evidence, as usual

Gee, people are so desperate to latch onto insane notions

How unproductive and adds to the discussion in no way...

I don't know enough about this subject to debate it intelligently, but neither do most of the people who have tried to derail with pointless name calling and huffery...

So I ask this, is this object already supposed to be near the sun? If it is, it'd be drastically effecting at least Mercury, would it not?

It's nowhere near Mercury. It actually makes a pass between a couple of planets further out than we are. It's estimated size is that of Jupiter, if not bigger. It's orbit around the sun takes about 3600 yrs. It's got 2 1/2 yrs to make it's mark, according to the Mayans. I'd say the speed of it's approach and ever changing size would be out of the question considering the facts above.
