I know it seems childish but it make me feel good when I get little flags and stars and applauses. Applauses feel like an honor. It makes me feel like less of an outcast and lets me know that there are people out there who understand me and agree with me on certain things that nobody that I know in the real world does.

It's not childish at all. It's human nature to want to be accepted and affirmed in our opinions.

on the other hand...

I find it comforting to be opposed by those people that I consistently disagree with and actually find honor in being listed a "foe" by them. Im getting quite a nice "foe" list. Sort of a left handed "applause"...


On a side note.... the coveted, and most rare titles of "hottie" and "cutie" are only bestowed on those that can actually qualify as hot or cute. Best of luck.

I still view the "ascension" as society-based.

I do not need to rise to a certain level to appreciate myself.

I am what I am. I have become one with "me".

There are days when I don't originate . . . just respond. I don't care.

It is because of other originators here that I strive for assimilation instead of
ascension. I blend.

This system only rewards those who start a thread and then adds credits for stars and flags.

If all you do is contribute to existing threads, no matter how much or how well, you getting nothing, nada, zero, zilch, nieshoh

Just a thought, what good would come of threads if there were not responders, supporters and challengers? Should not those contributions be worth something??

Obviously I am fishing for some praise here..

Although that thread I linked was in my opinion the best source of information that I could find explaining what most members need to do to reach certain levels such as how many flags, stars and posts are needed.

I've no idea and I've never seen anything explaining about how to reach something like Cosmic level tbh. (Or any level higher than that even )

Although it should be added In my opinion and that's the only real fault that I can see with it, as far as I know everything else s correct in terms of what's needed for a contribution level upgrade.

Not true. The Mods sometimes give applause to responses to threads. Get enough of those and you get some kind of title or another.

There was a brief period where i was a thread starter. Now, not at all hardly. But all of my applause have come from posts. Sometimes you can even get a glimpse of the moderator, as a person, by what it was he applauded.

I even got a few from Skeptic Overlord.

It takes 2001 Flags to reach Cosmic Level.

You can achieve up to Bronze Status based on number of posts, and number of stars.

However if you want to achieve more than Bronze Status you do need flags, to get to Silver, Gold and Cosmic.
