Yes, war is a distraction, oil is a distraction, drugs are a distraction.

The REAL problem is that they are creating all of these issues, NON OF THEM ARE REAL. The police create the violence! The government ban on drugs creates the gangs! The school systems are lying to your children!

All this materialistic ideology is slammed into our skulls from day 1 by marketing firms, school systems telling us to reach out for success!

For god's sake they teach us to boost our ego as a form of empowerment!

Let's take a real look at what is going on.

ALL THESE PROBLEMS AND ALL THERE IS IS TALK.
THE REAL PROBLEM IS...LACK OF ACTION.

Action is taken within your daily routine. If you bank, you support the banks. If your kids have birth certificates and go to school, you support the school system and the government. If you go to court, you support the courts. And so on and so on. I am not saying this is easy, but what is easy is boring. So have some fun and make life tough and exciting!

Your right about that not being the real problem.

When I was younger, the problem facing man was,

How did they get the Caramel , in the Caramel Bar.

Nowadays , problems are more Complex.

What 11 "secret herbs and spices" are in the chicken at KFC.

A big part of the problems that face our society is that WE meaning YOU and I are a big part of the problem. Politicians often blame problems on nameless, faceless individuals like executives of big corporations, illegal aliens, or sexual predators for societies problems. The fact is people like you and I are often the biggest contributors to most social problems.

Global warming and other energy related problems are not caused by oil executives, they are caused by people like you and I who make poor choices when it comes to energy consumption. People like you and I buy unnecessarily large cars. People like you and I do not use public transportation. People like you and I leave the lights on or turn the air conditioning up too high.

The financial melt down was not just caused by some greedy executives at big banks. It was caused by people like you and I who bought houses we should have known we could not afford. It was caused by people like you and I who got greedy and thought we could get easy money flipping houses.

You name a problem, and it would not be hard to demonstrate how people like you and I are the cause of these problems.

I agree completely. How do we introduce this type of thought process successfully into a marketable form(not for financial gain) so that it would reach a broader audience?

That is a difficult question. Politicians today seem to be successful at creating hatred within their base, then directing that hatred at the opposition. They also run on a platform of "have your cake and eat it too." A sure way to lose an election is to have a platform of responsibility and personal sacrifice.

It will either take a very special leader to convince Americans to be a little more introspective and less selfish or a great catastrophe which will force Americans to give up things. I cannot see a leader coming along convincing America to make the necessary personal sacrifices, so Americans are going to have to see the light and make sacrifices the hard way.

Its been an organic and mutually symbiotic evolution of detachment and erosion of philosophic methodology in respect to development, institutions, individuals and infrastructure.

Yes we are to blame.
They, (who are also part of us) are to blame also.

Its difficult to make reasoned and educated decisions when the system all around us is the complete inverse of such. But that is no excuse today, everyone (in a developed nation) as access to Libraries and the Internet.

One of the main problems is; what, who and how the mass media propagates ideas, information and individuals.

The monetary structure and advanced capitalistic system we use doesn't do us any favors either because of the differential advantage it creates and the motivation it is operated by and for.

Supply and Demand.

Well I'm a concious/ethical consumer who semi-regularly attends protests and demonstrations. I give a monthly donation to Green-Peace, I vote Greens and I am a quasi-member of a socialist youth organisation, who reads, recycles, regularly signs petitions and I infrequently "culture-jam". I try to walk and use public transport as much as possible. And I try to encourage others to do the same.

Its not hard, and I'm lazy as, I could be doing alot more.

Just being concious of where and what you spend your money on is one of the biggest contributing factors one can have on the betterment of human society.

Is it not in our nature to destroy and conquer each other and everything, I think the biggest problem is mans timeless war to control nature. Magic failed, alchemy and sorcery failed, religion failed, sheep and herder style society failed (including all of them democracy, communisim, socialism, monarchial, etc) and science will fail to not only explain and control nature so in the mean time people control each other and very macro based life on earth just because we can basically. The question to me is are we the anti thesis to natural we create these problems like said before does any other creature on earth display such characteristics?

A virus.

Local Currency - distribute some pamphlets if you're keen, join your neighborhood watch group, put a presentation together, present it in a town hall meeting, or the local library.

In this economic climate - you'd prolly be surprised at how much interest is shown.
