People assume that aliens are smarter ( and rightly so ) because people realize that in order for them to have advanced enough to master spacetravel then they must have been successful in NOT destroying themselves and their planet before they got to that stage.

I cannot honestly say the same for humanity. Time will tell.

Leave it to the Russians to be more concerened about the divulgance of state secrets than of aliens appearing in yellow outfits and communicating via telepathy in an Oxygen deprived, clear, tube setting!

what interests me about all this is that a politician believes he was abducted and that people are listening to all of this, as if it gives credence to the alien phenomena being real.

www.smh.com.au...

What has got his Russian political peers suddenly agitated after all this time is whether he let slip any state secrets and whether there is a proper procedure for dealing with aliens.

Strange to even suggest that a procedure is even needed to be dealt with as a one off claim. I mean to take it seriously is one thing, he's a politician so you're thinking well he must have some merit - he's a responsible figure in society. but i dont know it kind of feels like he's saying what he really believes or is it really just a bad joke.

but when it goes on about "Russian political peers suddenly agitated" because of any slipped up state secrets - does that mean that aliens have some sort of real confirmation with the governments of the world? that politicians discussing alien abductions may divulge secrets that might find aliens to be real in some manner??
extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

all i know is extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.....

Tell this guy to contact one4all,a lot of us who have been abducted require money to further our journeys,he has money and he cant possibly believe himself if he is spending money on chess and not on helping other abductees.

If he really was abducted then he understands that his money is all stolen and our new friends dont split hairs, you are judged by your intent more than your actions, its called preventative maintenance.

He will also understand that a lie detector test IS ENOUGH TO CONFIRM WETHER OR NOT THE INDIVIDUAL SEEKING HELP IS TRULY AN ABDUCTEE.

I am sure we will all take one as a prerequisite to recieving our allowance.

This is the litmus test,if you know you immediatly understand that you are your own judge and jury and you instantly become an outcast in this world.

You become a TRUTHER,someone who will settle for nothing less than the unblemished ,hard, truth about everything.

This is a retro-style movement, people used to be like this a few generations ago.

The truth or we want someone else and immediatly.

According to his story he is not an abductee though. "Contactee" is probably a more fitting label.

He willingly walked into the tube on his own accord. Nothing was forced and I'm quite sure that he could have elected to go back to sleep if he so desired.

That is not necessarily true. If their primary motivation was space travel out of some necessity, then they could have diverted all their resources to that and mastered it, without mastering other social and technological issues that we have already conquered.

For instance, Earthlings are fairly advanced in our weaponry, energy production, etc. We also have a problem with pollution and conservation of natural resources. We are tackling all those issues at once. Suppose we just decided to focus on space travel, energy production, and industry at all costs. Soon, we may master those fields while destroying the planet to the point that we would have to evacuate.

Just because an alien race travels here, does not make them more intelligent in all aspects. They may be more advanced in space travel, but less advanced in conservation, social integration, equality, etc. Who knows, they may travel all that way without defensive or offensive weapons. They could be piloting escape capsules. Imagine a life boat versus a battle ship.

Oooops, I , meant to respond to getreadyalready.
Absolutely! There's a lot of merit in what you're saying.

This is exactly why I scoff at those who say "aliens don't fly all the way here and then crash their ships! That's stupid."

Why is it stupid? They're not gods and they're subsequently just as prone as we are to making mistakes. That's how intelligent beings learn. Through trial and error and mistakes. We are in fact capable of many wonderful things. It is, as you stated, a matter of where we concentrate our efforts. That all being said though, we do not have the ability to traverse astronomical distances at the moment, so it isn't out of the realm of reasoning to assume that an ET visitor would in fact be more intelligent than us. It's just not a given.

Thank You!

I totally agree, they are "likely" to be more advanced or intelligent, but not necessarily so.

On Earth we have basically mastered air travel and low orbit space flight, but people still get killed on bicycles regularly!

Airplanes almost never crash during cruising flight, it is always take off and landing.

I would guess that if another race got off their planet succesfully, they would travel unimpeded until they got here, and then they would likely encounter problems trying to land or navigate on our world.

So much happening with such little time, are we indeed ready for disclosure? I don't think so, not the type they have instore for us. Can we trust the Russians? who do we trust? this story is all over the media now, something is going down. 3 years ago this story would never have made it out of Russia, since the removal of the D9 notice in 2009 it seems UFO/ALIEN articles are all over the place in the media.

Its a question of watch this space now. So much to do so little time.

There is no time left, most those that will make it into the future perspective we will soon see have already made the choice to be there by accepting the possibility of the future they desire from the available options delegated by humanities cumulative choice of realities. There will be millions of "standbys"that will figure it out through a sort of epiphany at the last second.

In other words what is soon coming is pretty much set in stone, not quite but pretty much, what we have to do as individuals is figure out what is going on and where we choose to fit in to that reality or possible perspective or reality.

If we cant even concieve of ,never mind accept as possible, A REALITY THAT FALLS WITHIN THE PARAMETERS OF THE ---ALREADY DECIDED BY TPTB future sequence of global events, then we CANNOT POSSIBLY SURVIVE THE COMING TRIBULATIONS.

It will mostly be the ignorant or uninformed that perish, but its still a crapshoot. This isnt going to be an extinction level event or series of events.Just be prepared and you dont even need to be "in the right place at the right time"you simply need to know where to go,there will be time to make it to a refuge if you know WHEN TO LEAVE TO GET AHEAD OF THE UNDERINFORMED.

Why do you think Russia split up?Why not ,there was a bigger kid than than the US on the block. Why not shut er down and watch what happens when the other big boys bump uglies.

Of course we will get a lot of info from them, they are fencesitters now, they probably love it knowing the russian attitude, they are laughing into their vodkas.

The link below leads to an article from 2006 that mentions his encounter with aliens. So news of him meeting with aliens is not new.

www.guardian.co.uk...

What is new, is that he is being accused of possibly sharing state secrets.

Since this is right before Ilyumzhinov's election cycle, I would venture to guess that Russia is trying to discredit him by publicizing his alien encounter to make people question his sanity.

Hi I think the posters "says it all really" comment was referring to the source (text in bold) - the Sun newspaper isn't considered a particularly reliable source of information and tends to sensationalize stories and poke fun at it's readers..

bb

Good point I hadn't considered that, however even so that just means the Sun's particular editorial "take" should be ignored, the bones of the story are obviously there and elsewhere.

Originally posted by expat2368Pozner is a very famous Russian journalist who was for many years in the U.S. and regularly appeared on I believe Nightline with Ted Koppel and other major network news programs. He is probably the most well respected and known Russian journalist by western standards.

He also co-hosted a show with Phil Donahue for several years, soon after the Iron Curtain fell. He's a very serious journalist, even though a lot of what he did in the 1970's and 1980's amounted to propaganda for the Communist regime. He's talked a lot since about how much he regretted many of the things he was forced to say in that time.

I may actually be related to him - my own family name is Posner, of both Russian and Polish decent, and he looks a LOT like several members of my family. It's pretty uncanny, actually.

Edit: Here he is interviewing Hillary Clinton as recently as March 2010.

This is what I love about people who post this stuff. The front article reads...."According to Lebedev, extraterrestrial “humanoids” are now in possession of some of Russia’s most secret secrets."

So aliens from outer space who to get here would obviously have better technology than we do are after our secrets...??? What... how to make vodka!!!

Some people need to 'think' about what they post!

One thing in this guys story that raises a red flag is that he says it happened after he was getting sleepy (or was asleep), which suggests the whole thing might have just been an unusually lucid dream. He does say there are witnesses, so who knows. But I think that detail should not be discounted.

I'm surprised no-one finds it more interesting that they're even concerned.... I mean... have extra-terrestrials been confirmed and proven yet ? - They're acting like it's as real as giving secrets away to Kim Jon Ill.... Gotta make you think eh ?
