(CNN) -- Iran's transportation minister says the Islamic republic is sending home Russian pilots who fly for Iranian airlines, according to local reports.

"Sending back the foreign pilots is on the agenda of the ministry of road and transportation and the issue is being implemented now," Transportation Minister Hamid Behbahani told the semi-official Fars News Agency on Monday.

Behbahani added the Russian-made Tupolev 154 planes -- Soviet-era aircraft operated by several Iranian airlines -- will gradually be replaced by newer passenger planes. It was not immediately who would supply the new planes.

Russian pilots ordered out of Iran

Interesting, on the surface it would just appear that this is an attempt to be more independent and less reliant upon other Countries. One more step in Iran’s attempt to become a self sustaining Super Power (in so many words).

This may have someting to do with the Polish plane crash

Russian investigators said on Thursday that black boxes from the air crash that killed Poland's president showed pilot error was to blame,

and this...

The official said it appeared that on its fourth and final attempt the Russian-made Tupolev Tu-154 plane tried to land by levelling its altitude after descending, in a bid to compensate for heavy fog in the area.

Pilot blamed for Polish president's plane crash

So, Iran wants the planes involved in the Polish plane crash to no longer operate in their country... Quite fishey to me, I wonder if they think there was a conspiracy there as much of us here do?

I don't blame Iran.

This is another extremely smart chess move on their part! What I want to know, is how Iran become so adept at this International Game all of a sudden? They seem to all of a sudden be "in the know" and they are taking every precaution both publicly and privately to limit their threats and access and win over public opinion.

They are making all the right moves at the right times and doing them in the right way to avoid any backlash! Very savvy!?!?!?

No backlash yet ...like you said "all of a sudden". Although I do agree they're playing well in the game and quite suddenly, although this could just be beginners luck, but then again, maybe they're in the know for a reason. Perhaps their role in this game will be brought to light soon. Time will tell.

This has EVERYTHING to do with the Polish plane crash

Even with this argument, it would appear they're in the know. I am curious to see how this will all play out.

So, Iran wants the same pilots, and planes involved in the Polish plane crash

MysterE, are you #in' nuts?
What pilots?
Maybe you shouldn't involve POLISH pilots into your semi-wise visions?
I am from Poland and i am tired of your rubbish on ATS, US people.
You are offending polish pilots that perished in crash, dude, here.
Lack of knowledge, or bad will, i don't know.

This has EVERYTHING to do with the Polish plane crash

BS!

Russian pilots ordered out of Iran

It's rather logical, DONTCHA think?
As US is trying to convince us, that Iran will be next to be destroyed(by allmighty USA) soon, Russia is tired of being involved into EVERY bad thing that US see, and quits.
IT is SO easy.
Sooner, or later, we all gonna be tired of US bs, imho.
You know why?
..just because everyone in world is going to PAY for that bs.

Very interesting. this may just be nothing out of the ordinary at all and strictly business, but still it seems interesting. I can't help but wonder if in the near future we are going to look back at this seemingly unimportant story and realize that this was the beginning of...whatever happens.

Still - it could be nothing. Nice find though.

[more

After all these are the people who invented chess, and were great strategists, my country (IMF-Land formerly known as Greece) can sing a lot of songs about them.

Sorry?
Is this sarcasm?
I'll tell you something.

After some idiot stole "Arbeit Macht Frei" sign from Auschwitz concentration camp i watched CNN.
You know what i heard?
That Auschwitz is POLISH concentration camp.
Here, in Poland for such words you may land in PRISON.

Small amounts of wrong data, day by day, are building one big BS POV, don't you think?

And one more thing: do not try to
me here.
I had no reason to be polite, i hope you understand, it is about truth.

Yes, even with my infinite flag contribution wisdom, I often make mistakes. As you can read below my user name I am "continually enlightened" and you enlightened me to the correct nationality of the pilots in the plane crash.

However, your brash demeanor was not necessary. I apologize if I offended you, it was certianly not my intent.

but, imho, when describing reality, you should avoid such "mistakes".

I absolutely think they may be "in the know", or taking precautions just in case.
