International plot behind the failed bombing? I think this goes deeper then some white guy in his 40's.


The investigation into the Times Square car bomb has started to reveal information that suggests the failed attack was the work of an international plot, a senior administration official told Fox News.

The official could not definitively say whether a foreign conspiracy was behind the incident, but that the body of evidence was moving in that direction.

What would the motivation be; and who would have such an ability? Earlier, I saw someone suggesting the Mossad might be behind it. Of course, that seems to be the standard reaction.

For the record, I have no idea who might've been behind this. My first suspicion was some angry white supremacist group.

I have no clue either on who could be behind this.....be interesting to find out who is though. I believe if any terrorist\other groups wanted to carry out attacks, it wouldn't be impossible to do so. Look at how many illegals cross the border each day. How many could be terrorists? Makes you think...and that's only the Mexican border, we also have the Canadian border to think about.

An "International Plot" to tape M80's to some gas cans in an SUV? An "International Plot" that didn't know the fertilizer had to be taken out of the bag and mixed with some stuff, and then set off with a significant cap? An "International Plot" that didn't even buy the correct stuff at the Hardware store to make an explosion?

I have better explosive materials in my kitchen!!

This was a giant failure of a smoke bomb, and I am supposed to believe that it was tied to multiple people/groups/countries!

If more than one 7th grader had conspired on this plot, the outcome would have been better!!

I doubt the plot was planned/carried out by international terrorists. It seems to have been far too ameteurish.

If Al Qaida was involved, at the very least somebody's underwear would have caught fire.

My bet is that it could have been any number of domestic wackos. It could have been: violent tea party members, people angry at the banks, people angry at the media, or some mixture of the above.

Any attempt at a terrorist act whether carried out or derailed and made public ,is in my opinion a success ,it succeeds in striking fear into the minds of the citizens of that country ,it succeeds in raising suspicion against your friends families and neighbors ,turning a deaf ear or blind eye is impossible when the media carries the story nonstop until the next tragedy occurs .It is deeply disturbing that we have moved on so far yet our goverment still uses the Roman circus methods at keeping us distracted ,

The idea of striking fear into the population is the core premise of terrorism (named appropriately). I agree with you on that point.

However, the failed crotch bombing, the giant SUV smoke bomb, and any thwarted attempt are failures. Instead of striking fear, they show that the terrorists are inept baffoons and that the authorities are way ahead of them!

Now, I don't think the authorities are that smart, and I don't think the terrorists are that stupid, so what is going on here? A couple of stupid individual acts that the MSM and government have capitalized on to seize the fear of the day! Therefore, who are the real terrorists?
