Alleged NASA -Affiliated Astronomer Deciphers 'Intelligence' Signal From Nearby Stars

What saddens me, and baffles me, the most about this thread
is the fact that ATS is supposedly a place for open-minded seekers
of truth and reality- however surreal that reality may be, or however
unbelievable the truth is.

So far, we have:

1) No definitive info about Judy

2) No data to analyze ourselves

3) Nothing concrete at all.

So for me- this is not a hoax or the truth- it is an evolving information packet that may be one or the other- the jury is not only out- the trial has yet to even begin!

Yet already- people claim HOAX, people criticize the OP and her intentions, people rag on Facebook- which is absurd- it is like saying Monica Lewinsky did not perform oral sex with Clinton because a nobody named Matt Drudge says so rather than the Washington Post... in the Web era, information- and truth- can come from a blogger in Berlin as much as a newspaper in New York.

ATS-Deny Ignorance?

What a joke this community has become- we are all ignorant, and I come to this site to try and eradicate some of that ignorance- but all I see are people trying to demonstrate how quickly they can ascertain the truth or lie within any given novelty- before any information- much less ALL information- is provided, processed, pondered and then- only then- should a position be taken- from the dizzy height of PERSPECTIVE... a climb up the mountain of ignorance we all live in the valley of, and recently, many seem too lazy to climb but quite able to determine the view from the peak.

BOTTOM LINE:

If I owned ATS I would post this---

"What happened to the childlike magic? What happened to the excitement? What happened to the enthusiasm- the idealism- the DESIRE for such a profound discovery (alien communications) to be TRUE- and only declaring HOAX when all optimistic, innocent until proven guilty efforts are exhausted and the application of common sense, the burden of proof and the Occam's Razor rule computes an undeniable, triple-checked, peer-reviewed hoax? In short- when did ATS become a community of infighting smug skeptics instead of a fraternity/sorority of humble students of this mysterious life?"

Not to blame the owners- they are terrific- this is a call to the members to stop judging so quickly...

Duke rape accusation comes to mind as an example of the world doing this very same idea... wait, watch, learn and do not bash the beautiful OP.

Please dont let this be another ranting thread,ive been on this site a matter of weeks and this is all i see,we all know theres little evidence to go on,so lets sit back and wait it out.The truth will be told in the end.

From the start:

This was either a hoax, or it wasn't.

A lady who is confirmed to be a physicist and does work in "space" contacted a well known author (who has met her several times, and believed her credibility at the time) with an incident she believed was both incredible, and too important to be covered up.

After giving a brief explanation she has "disconnected" and is no longer reachable, although apparenty confirmed she is ok.

The story sounds far fetched, but is easily provable. Is there or isn't there something happening in various observatories around the world?

If it is not a hoax, we would expect a similar sequence of events. Followed by further leaks (even if by others), within a few days.

If it is a hoax, it would be exactly the same, except without anything later on.

Whats everybody getting so wound up about? Wait and see to be sure. I used to use SETI, they're there to find this kind of event. Maybe after years and years and millions of dollars, they have.

Her career is probably toast either way.

As you said we have no evidence of anything.

What we do have is allegedly HUGE NEWS about intelligent alien signals coming from

1. a comfirmed obsessve alien enthusiast, and...
2. a science fiction writer

There's much more to indicate hoax than otherwise

I can see where you're coming from, I really do. (I do like the A-Team idea) I just personally find it hard to exhibit that level of cynicism.

You can try and make me look small, like you do others but it will not work with me im afraid. If you look into the ufo subject with scientific means, then logic is part of that, considering many cases dont have evidence, such as photos,footage etc, then they turn to logic, on what the witness/witnesess might have seen. So logic plays a big part while being scientific in this subject.

Personaly, i dont believe you have researched this story at all, even though you say you have. Cant prove that, but its just my opinion.

Ok, yes...I mean those who made "contact" and/or claim to have super insider information that nobody on earth can back up.

I do believe people see things...I also believe aliens exist.

For those two reasons alone, I do not understand the skeptic label being placed on me.

100% of ALL individuals giving lectures, selling books and DVDs detailing their magical tales of space-ship rides and friendly alien parties they have attended are all hoaxes and/or crazy people.

well for one the OP has quiote the active thread here... but its a darn shame everybody mentions the lack of evidence and then goes to conlude this to be a hoax based on the lack of evidence....
uhmm.... hello? we're on ATS here... this site is built around theories where mostly evidence is greatly lacking... have we forgot that this world knows tons of organizations who intentionally keep the evidence from us? I always thought ATS is based on these things... governments keeping a lid on things so we come together here to try and put the pieces of the puzzle together while althewhile missing half of the pieces.
what the hell are you doing here if you want to see evidence first... buy a newspaper... they have credible sources, here we specifically work with different topics for wich sources are lacking
