wow, dude, nice job. The OP should be called out for contributing to the very same nonsense he's complaining about.

Exactly, I did my homework on him and it took about 10 minutes lol. I didn't want to make this all about him but when people contradict themselves as much as he does it just had to be done. I'm not going to lie, I contradict myself ALL the time and most of us do but I do not make threads telling people what not to post about because then I would look like a complete jerk. Example, When I see an article calling for some type of negative thing to happen in the world then I will make a thread to bring it to the attention to others just as he did in November with the warning but I WONT tell them that its definitively going to happen because nothing is this world is set in stone

It's not always hypocritical if you're changing your standpoint and acknowledging how you felt before was wrong or illogical, but because he fails to admit he's been wrong himself, it ruins his credibility as someone who deflects BS rather than creates it. good job, ace.

Last but not least, Another thread by Raud about the upcoming economic collapse and the possibility of a Global War! (Be afraid,be VERY afraid!)

To this doomsday brew I'd like to add one real fiery spice; the fuel shortage. This will make a real explosive mixture. No gas in the pumps has alot, and I mean alot of consequenses. No fuel- no car. No car- can't go to work. Can't go to work- society and infrastructure grinds into a halt. No infrastructure- no food, transports can't bring the groceries...distrust against goverment. Looting. Riots. Every man for himself...

The light will come. It is always darkest before dawn. Good luck to you my american friends. I'm sitting pretty safe here on the other side of the atlantic but I feel for you. Dusk is upon you. It will get worse, way worse, before it gets better. God speed.

Raud,Are you Alex Jone's brother by any chance?

Rauds doomsday thread

Thanks HG! "Hoist with his own petard." I normally do the old post check myself for determining the level of d' baggery that I might be presented with by a fellow member. And as my muse Julius Henry Marx once said:

I don't care to belong to a club that accepts people like me as members. - Groucho Marx

At least he's not fear mongering any longer. Those quotes of his are quite scary. I'm leaving the light on tonight. Maybe tomorrow night too. One never knows, do one?

Looting. Riots. Every man for himself... - Raud

What is with that "every man for himself" anyway?

"If I am not for myself, who will be for me? - Hilel the Elder

That makes perfect sense. Not so scary. Now where has all the fear mongering gone?

"Lions, and tigers, and bears! Oh, my!" - Dorothy Gale

Ahhhhhhhh, that's better. "There's no place like ATS! There's no place like ATS! There's no place like ATS!"

Have you ever stopped to think for a moment that there may be a perfectly logical explanation to this recent "influx of negativity"?
The fact is, the planet as a whole is experiences anomalies on an unprecedented scale. More instances = More reports.
Unfortunately, the events that have been occurring typically have negative connotations associated with them (ie. Pole reversal, Nibiru, Earth changes etc) This of course is just my opinion.

Unfortunately, most of the conspiracy theories end with apocolypse........

2012...apocolypse
polar shift... apocolypse
Nazi Secret bases... apocolypse
UFO invasion.... apocolypse
Jesus Return... apocolypse
Nibiru... apocolypse

Being on a conspiracy site and complaining about apocolypse is like walking into a bank and complaining that everyone inside only cares about money.

I never really understood why some people get so worked up over certain threads...just don't click on them. But, I do support the freedom to say whatever you want. If you want to complain, complain. If you want to post apocalypse threads...post em.

I don't believe that is an effective strategy IMO. Posters of the magnitude being discussed may just continue rants on other sites if they are given the silent treatment here. The strategy may work in the short term, but I believe that it may just be putting a bandaid on a festering wound. Educating posters on stories that they submit is a much tougher strategy, but may result in higher rates of quality posts while nurturing a stronger more intelligent posting group.

I have noticed a jump in knee jerk posts with little more than speculation as proof, however they are taking a chance in putting their personal thoughts out into the cyber world for others to either support or debunk. That's a big step especially in the age of SPLC/ADL Orwell type information gathering.

These types of posters must remember the boy who cried wolf scenario and we can't ignore that angle as information deseminators. Ignoring people who cry wolf does not necessarily mean that they should be ignored because someday they may actually have information that could save your life.

ATS is the strongest, most critical and well informed site that I have been apart of. It is up to us and the mods to educate the lesser capable of posting relevant, truthful, factual information. For example, many many people shoot down Alex Jones posts because of the tricks he has pulled(for whatever reason), but he released inside information about the MIAC report that outlined returning veterans and Ron Paul supporters as domestic terrorists.

We should all be careful to not throw the baby out with the bathwater because that baby may be a nugget of truth that may lead us to inaction in a situation that may save our lives or quality of lives in the future.

Disinformation(intended or not) may be running rampant to turn people off to future events that we close our minds to after hearing so much crap from a particular person or subject.

I've been considering writing a post about the SPLC hitlist possibly being more than just talk, but the information I have gathered so far has been weak and cooberated by sources that cannot be verified unless you have an inside source in the high ranking military that prefers to remain anonymous. Should I start a post based on weak information or is it worth it to post this information as a possible warning of future assassination of the 40 people on that list.

My mind struggles with putting out weak information, but truelly patriotic lives may be at stake. Should I wait until some of them have been assassinated or should I inform as many people as possible? It may save a life that has been standing up for our freedoms, but at the same time I know that I am going to get the debunkers who say prove it or I need better more relaliable sources.

I'm sure that many people struggle with the same scenario. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. I think most of us need to be more open minded about the motives behind such postings because many may be well intentioned, but misguided or the OP struggles with peer pressure of what they should or shouldn't write.

Edit for small nugget of info. All Tylenol has been recalled because of what I was told was some are too strong, some too weak and too many inactive ingredients in others. I found out when I went to the pharmacy and someone couldn't find Tylenol after going to 6 stores.

This doesn't happen all the time, but I have noticed some threads are pre-loaded with posts that seem to be intended to set the brainwashing (peer pressure) in motion. The threads are following within minutes of starting with two or three posts that claim the thread is "undeniable", "couldn't say it better", etc.. I do think there are efforts to steer the members thinking or at least test the possibilities. it's something to watch out for.

I couldn't agree more. This is something that everyone should read. Through the research that I have come across (as I'm sure others have to), disinformation can be lethal. I have heard of certain factions that are literally employed to find great leaks of important information and load disinformation to discredit the poster and his/hers ideals. I'm not saying this happens for every seemingly-true peice of evidence out there, but thinking logically, some (perhaps more than we think) of this information could be true. If it is, these disinformation "agents", or whatever you might like to call them, could be perfectly real. Raud could be onto something. Just because someone claims to debunk something doesn't mean you should take their word for it. A healthy, not overbearing skepticism is best. Be open minded and stay sharp fellow ATS members!

..Apocalypse..
This word associated with the canon of biblical lore embues the idea of an apocalypse itself. This post creates more conflict and as the Law of Attraction does indeed 'prove'; you will attract more of it. Only persons of a war god mentality reference destruction rather than harmony; so what is your real reason for this post? What fills your world with conflicts and absolutes like destruction and good versus evil?
Having asked you the question I must confess that I actually do fall right into your new category of a recent subscriber to ATS that has subjective truths of my own to share. You cite Tibet independance and violence towards Russia as examples of outrageous antics by usurpers into the ATS forum. How about Me. A card caring Wiccan who has become FED UP with coming to ATS and reading only this kind of bashing at anyone who doesn't go along with the quid quo pro...How can I relate my perspectives if I need to temper arguments and conclusions based solely on a set of values determined by the 'elite' and veteran ATS members of whom you refer? In my humble opinion the persons here seem to be doing a pretty good job already by providing this forum. Visit some of the other forums and note immediately the swearing and vituperation of individuals based on mandane values and bigotry.
Walk a 'kilometer' in my shoes dear friend; just about every day I need to explain how a wiccan who harms others is called a Sorceress or an Oath-breaker/warlock and that I have been studying possession-exorcism and the Pythagorean Way way three decades now. I suggest to you and myself in the same breath therefore that we should seek positive metaphors and progressive solutions instead of decrying differences. Be grateful, IMHO, for the opportunity have this established forum...and for free no less.~*
My interests are many but Exopolitics and I guess what you call 'Lower Astral entities' are my interests here. What I see happening now around our world is far into the realm you are decrying as metaphysics and theoretical SCIENCE. I want nothing from you except to show different options that may perhaps SET you and others Free from this global dilectic of warmongers playing games with our people for profit..and worse... This posting today about INTOLLERANCE on ATS comes actually just as I was going to post a bulletin on Myspace to my many thousands of friends there..about the open..family-friendly discussion forums here..I am linked to thousands of practitoners and psychics around the world now through the internet and WE ARE meeting and marrying Science with this idea called Religion. ... But...If I am never allowed to insert subjective reasoning into a conversation on ATS then what is the point of discourse?
Without freedom of expression on ATS I may as well just cut and paste snippets and quotations from others on an apporoved list...and I think somebody has already tried to ban books and burn people before who didn't agree with the State.~* Witches actually love the police because these honorable officers keep people from burning, destroying and harming we who tollerate and cherish the differences of others.

I believe in simplicity. And while I LOVE to speculate and use my imagination I always try to fall back on simplicity when it counts. In this case, ignoring these people altogether in the best policy. Have the conversation you're going to have, don't let others change it for you.

I basically freaked out after reading one of these threads for the first time a few years ago. I made an ass of myself trying to warn friends and family. I realized that after the day they predicted never came that I was a sucker and a fool, never again would I let some moron with little to no sources tell me there's going to be a disaster.

if you care about this board being used to spread relevant information, you will do your part and debunk (it usually takes 15 minutes at the most on google) the BS so those threads can die quickly and we can continue discussion and commentary on items way more feasible.

seriously if I could false flag these people who say there's going to be a false flag, it'd be a big effin slap to their face.

That is why I have a balanced mind. I am a believer and later a skeptic. When things don't sound right I will make my case and change it. It goes both ways, but some hardcore skeptics really disturb me as well as those who believe in anything unusual. The worst belief from a believer I heard is an alien base on the moon that steals your souls and the worst I have heard from a skeptic is it is lint got caught in the camera.......

crazy world we live in.

Hello. I somewhat agree with what you are saying, but I wouldn't call it "fear mongering on a large scale". I personally believe it's healthy to question things (especially when it involves the government). This site has a pretty balanced view, which leads to some interesting debates (the Planet X/Nirbu ones are fascinating). I don't think people intend to post topics that will freak people out (well, maybe not all of them). I think they are just observing and asking questions. No harm in that. This may sound cheesy, but since I found this site, I have become a more open minded person and I find myself questioning things. I have learned a lot from the debunkers and the fear mongers. Regarding "the apocalypse" and people being afraid, look, what happens, happens. We are humans, not Gods. People need to chillax and realize that nothing lasts forever. My advice to you is to not take things so serious. People have a right to his or her own opinion, as well as you. Just sit back, open your mind and enjoy the ride (and I am not referring to drugs). God, I sound like a hippie... but you get my point, yes?

Man, this crappy thread made 33 flags overnight. That's insane!
None of my other "complaint threads" made it half way even:
0 Flags
7 Flags

Seems like there has been an increase in interest for threads in both directions, attracting the same members too (you know who you are).

I'm sorry, but this thread is no "top-story" material at all.
I wish one of my threads that actually has a point would have made it instead of this half-assed job.
I was in serious doubt before I posted this...now I know why

Haaaa, lol! Someone did "homework" on me. That's so cute, I feel honoured.

Actually, it was a long, long time ago since I actually had to defend myself in a thread on ATS. It feels good (still wishing this would have happened in some of my other threads...).

I don't know if you can see this post, but I do actually evolve as a member and I do apologize.
The Confessions Thread

There are some threads in here that I am not very proud of, but I will stand up for them and for my thougts at that time.
People mature, you know. I'm no different than the other guy.

I did however sell my apartment like I said and made a good fortune.
Still, the impact of the economic meltdown is not felt quite yet (even though I still believe something happened on that date; a seed was sown).
The interest rates won't increase until June or July this year (2010), and they won't sky rocket until at least next winter (my qualified guess).
But all that is off-topic. If you wanna fight me over that thread, do it there please.

Still, no matter how hard I try, my point is being missed out on.
I don't know if it is the language barrier or what, but my concern and reason for this thread is what yeahright explained (and some of you other people too, however much fewer than most).
I guess the thread title is wrong. I should have named it;
Gang apperances: high tide for trolls with possible agenda or something like that.
Well, you live and learn...

All I wanna do right now is carving a big fat what ever on this thread.

Thanks for the input everyone

I've read each and every post!

If you have information that you believe may save lives - please do not hesitate to post it. It may or it may not, but if it does what is gained by your courage to take a chance? Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and follow you gut, what is the harm? Most here will engage you in thoughtful, courteous debate (I did say most). And remember just because you do not see an effect from the fruits of your labor does not mean that it did not have an effect. We are the sum of our experiences and we are not always going to see eye to eye but I personally will always welcome one to share their insights.
