This is a television commercial from the PA department of revenue. This ad disturbs me , in that this is the type of conditioning that this country is slowly being prepped for; a total accepted police state.

I am speechless.

I like the end though "We know who you are." If they know all of this then why again do we need a census?

They don't know who I am.

And they don't even have a clue IF I owe them money or not.

It's great flying under the radar.

Let's see them try to even figure it out.

That commercial is pure bunk.

"They".

"They" doesn't even exist.

It's all illusions my friend. Delusions even.

Wow! I have seen TV ads about police making extra patrols on people not wearing seat belts and such, but this video scares me. They might as well have put up a video of a firing squad if you do not pay the taxes. There is no sugar coating at all in this TV ad. They get right down to business and actually are using tactics used by psychotic individuals and crime bosses.

Pay your taxes people, they know who you are.

One personal connection away from blatant assault, yet still a blanket threat. A new generation of fear-mongering, just dispensing with the pleasantries.

Looks to me like PA is getting just as desperate as several other states.

I think it's time for a few citizen's arrests in Pennsylvania. What are you all waiting for up there? You should be outraged at the insinuation alone, let alone the obvious violation.

Personally, I think it's yet another test (Pennsylvanians), and I get the feeling you're not going to get a passing grade...although I don't feel any risk with that assessment either. :/

I saw this ad when I was watching American history the story of US on The History channel! When I first saw it, it blew my mind! I thought that someone will definitely post about this on ATS and sure enough, a member did

My thought on this was holy smokes! What are they kidding? We should revolt! They say, " You owe US money? We're coming for you!!!" You can't hide, you were a prisoner of the land!!! Mwwauhh hah ha!" they say... They say they know were you live. Baaah!

The insane thing is, Hulu did this with the Super bowl ad were they say "we are taking over your (Sheeple) brain and there is nothing you can do about it!" Are we sheeple or are we people? What?? Deny ignorance!

Peace!

No, it isn't.

Simply a pathetic attempt to pay their own bills with other people's money, as well as an indicator of how desperate they really are, and an inventive yet fully transparent attempt to convince people they are scary.

Nothing more.

Laughable really.

I am actually stunned to the fact that this thread has not got more attention than it deserves. This is blatant threats against civilians and people are not commenting on this "TV COMMERCIAL". Make a comment and tell what you think of this THREAT.

I don't watch much TV at all so I have yet to see this, but by golly - what are they thinking? I wonder what is going to happen to all the people in PA who are unemployed without unemployment compensation who won't be able to pay their taxes. Are "they" going to come get us?

I say give me a break. They aren't going to do anything once they realize the magnitude of people who won't be paying this year.

Holy (Snip)....I couldnt believe this when I saw it. I had to watch it 3 times to just overcome the disbelief. There are so many people on here that call people "paranoid" about Big brother issues but I say show them this video because its a slap in the face. Thank you Big Brother, you're such a great friend!

did you notice that along with this video they have an entire website created for those people who "need to pay up?" with a Q and A section and everything.

this may actually be a very good sign... it may mean that fewer and fewer people are paying their taxes. if that is the case, the people behind this video and website are not very smart and aware of what is going on in this country. if they were even a little bit aware they would realize that this video is just going to make more and more people NOT pay taxes.

keep putting out videos like this fearless leaders.. it is going to end up making your system crash even sooner and faster. LOL

Agreed. Even to the unwake idiots out there this should spark something in there brain like uhhhh is this why the census people are going door to door asking who lives there, how many people and then entering that information into there little computers what pinpoint exactly where you live on the GPS? Its frightening and anyone who believes this is just paranoia really needs to be slapped in the face

I can confirm that. My Sister just so happens to be doing that census crap again this year. She did it last year to around here...bout tore my vehicle up doin' it. They do indeed GPS front entryways and/or front doors.

I ask her about why she'd consider workin' for 'em and she simply says, "Cause I have 3 kids to feed." Can't really argue. Least she's upfront about it...gladly even. Big Brother Loves ya Sis, in every sense of the word.

I think many here are giving this more credit than it deserves. Most tax agencies in conjunction with other private and public agencies have a fairly good grasp of where you sit money wise. When you file you provide a lot of detail, couple that with something like census data and you paint a fairly accurate profile. This is simply scare mongering to get people to pay their taxes, and it appears to be working.

Now, when you fax them the list, make a note that you will be checking back to see if they have done a check. Note that you will be making a FOIA request on the investigation.

Time to start fighting fire with fire folks!

This is a bald fear strategy.

If they had your name they would simply contact you,
there would be no need to 'advertise' on TV.

Only inattentive or guilt ridden people will fall for this ploy.

I'd wonder what program was on when this commercial was played, as I'd wager a good sum you've hit on the EXACT demographic this "commercial" was targeting.

On a good note: It won't matter, even to the guilt-ridden. If you don't have money coming in, you can't send money out.

They're trying to place the burden of this economic calamity on the consumer and the laborer (just like everything else in this more and more Corporatist Country). I believe they're doing this is in hopes that the last straw isn't too far away, which is the only tangible threat I can see in this commercial.

Fortunately, I believe THAT's going to backfire on them as well, as unpardonable debts is not a one-way designation.

EIN: Couldn't help but star those. I've got mine on a sticky note hangin' on the bottom rim of this monitor. I'm sure I'm marked (
)...as I salute them with a hearty "Whoopie-ding-ding! Come take what I don't have!"
